"Let's take a trip to the academy tomorrow. I'll show…" Sinos started, only to receive a glare from beside him. He coughed and corrected himself. "I mean, Dairon and I will show you around."

"Okay." Jasmine was excited, oblivious to the battle of glares that was happening behind her.

Sinos inwardly cursed at Dairon. 'I'm not interested in demigoddesses!'

As if understanding his gaze, Dairon nodded in approval. 'Then keep a safe distance.'

"See you tomorrow. I'll pick both of you up in the afternoon." He disappeared before Dairon could glare at him again. Why was he so scary and intimidating when he was upset? He turned after a few steps to glance back at Dairon. His eyes squinted. Perhaps he didn't know his friend as well as he thought he did.

A demigoddess reported that King Rian wanted to see Dairon in private, so he led her to the garden and let her look around as he went to King Rian's chamber.

Jasmine walked around and took in the nice smelling flowers in the beautiful garden. She held a petal and sniffed its scent without plucking it. She felt a presence behind her and turned.

"I thought it would never happen." Her lips clenched into a thin line when she saw Scarlet now standing before her. She had a smile on her face, but who knew what she was trying to mask?

"Hi Jasmine." She beamed and held out a hand.

"It's been long, Scarlet." Jasmine didn't reach out to shake the other's hand out of caution. Of course, it came out as arrogance and Scarlet looked like she couldn't wait to teach her her place.

"You sound like we are acquainted." She snickered and crossed her arms.

"Aren't we?" Jasmine took a step forward. Her insides were on the verge of freezing but she would not give her nemesis the satisfaction of seeing her flustered. She flashed a fake smile. "You even helped me keep such a big secret. Unless you are fond of keeping big secrets for everyone."

Scarlet was finally pissed off. Her eyes flashed with a murderous intent as she glared at Jasmine. "I don't know how you managed to crawl out of the grave but you better go back when you still can."

"Or else what?" Jasmine crossed her arms. "Will you kill me?"

She shook her head as though she was amused. "You can kill me, Scarlet. Go ahead if you dare. But let me remind you that everything is fated. If I was meant to replace you, I will do just that. It doesn't matter how many times you kill me. I will come back to life every single time."

When she thought of the nonsense she had just spouted in a moment of desperation, Jasmine almost frowned. Was she dreaming? She thought she saw Scarlet's eyes flash with a hint of panic. Knowing that things might get out of hand if she continued provoking Scarlet, she turned to leave, only for Scarlet's lackey to pull her back.

"This meeting didn't happen." Scarlet spoke, attempting to erase the memory of their encounter. She was about to add everything else that she wanted Jasmine to forget to the list when she realized that it was not working.

To her shock, Jasmine chuckled in amusement. "What do you mean? Of course it happened, Scarlet." She then disappeared into the banquet hall.

Scarlet's eyes squinted. No way. The only immortal whose memory she couldn't erase was Dairon, that weirdo. How come Jasmine resisted her as well?

"Goddess Scarlet…" A lackey called her name at the side.

"Shut the f*ck up!" She yelled in frustration.

Dairon soon realized that King Rian had not called for him. It was a trick! He teleported to Jasmine's side and was relieved to find her conversing with a god.

He glared at the god, who flew away, before checking her over. "Are you okay?"

She nodded. "Scarlet tried to erase my memory." Before he could lose his cool, she added, "I'm okay. I didn't forget anything new. On the contrary, she helped me remember something."

"What's that?"

"Goddess Alaya. We met before and she erased my memory." She was still puzzled about it too.

"Why would she do that?" He was confused. "When did you meet?"

"A few nights ago. I caught her sneaking out of your room and she made me forget our meeting." She rubbed her forehead. "I know this sounds strange, but she is not scheming anything. For some reason I'm convinced that she is good."

He didn't look convinced in the slightest. "Don't be deceived, Jasmine."

She knew that she would not be able to convince him so she nodded. "I'll be careful."

He placed a hand on hers that was holding the railing. "I will not let anyone hurt you." He promised, referring to Scarlet.

Sophie knocked on the door and entered the study, where her husband had been holing himself up the whole day. "Harry, dinner is ready."

"I will eat later." He didn't spare her a glance as he dismissed her.

She stood in the room for a while and wanted to turn to leave but she couldn't. "You are still mad at me."

He raised his head to look at her. His lips quivered but he said nothing in the end, continuing with his work.

She let out a sigh. "I did what I believed was best for our daughters."

"And ended up hurting one of them while at it." He glared at her. "Do you think Jasmine will ever trust us after you lied to her?"

She couldn't argue with that. It was not just Jasmine. Dahlia would be angry if she knew what her memory had been tampered with several times.

Before she could leave, he stood and closed in to embrace her. "Sophie, I'm not mad at you. I'm just upset. Do you realize that although we love Jasmine so much, she is not really ours? I know you think about it too. That one day, she will stop coming and we will never see her again. Who knows, the deities might make us forget her again."

"Harry…" She almost broke down just thinking about it.

Not wanting to see his wife cry, he kissed her forehead. "You said that dinner was ready, right? Let's go."

She caught sight of something by the window and urged him out. "I'll join you in a minute."

Harry nodded and left. She then looked towards the window where a goddess was standing. Harry could not see her anyway, and the goddess had made it clear that she should never tell anyone about her, not even Harry. The last thing she wanted was to put her husband's life in danger.

"Are you too busy for me?" The goddess's lips lifted in a smirk.

"Goddess… why are you here?" Sophie asked, not walking over.

"Because you summoned me." She looked like she was about to lose her patience.

Sophie was surprised for a moment before she remembered it. "That was three days ago. I wanted to ask you to take care of my baby, but she's alright. Thank you for coming."

The goddess looked sympathetic. "But you miss her so much. Poor thing."

"It's okay. She promised to visit." Sophie swallowed the lump in her throat.

The goddess smiled. "That's great. She is doing quite well. Her banquet just ended. She is going to be accepted as a demigoddess and has two elements by the way."

"That's… that's great." Sophie felt sad even though she was happy for her daughter. She doubted that it was what Jasmine wanted but if she did, then she had nothing to say against it.

The goddess did a slight flap of her wings. "If she is accepted as an apprentice, she will be so busy that you will not see her soon. She can only come back during the next Lunar Symetoch to celebrate. That's about one hundred and sixty five years later."

"But…" Sophie gasped in shock.

"Oh, I forgot. Humans don't live that long. Not even the youngest of you will be able to see her again."

Sophie clenched her lips. The goddess didn't need to lie to her, did she?

"You want your daughter back, don't you?" The goddess smiled.

"I do." Sophie nodded even though she wanted to remain silent.

"What a coincidence. I don't want her in the realm of immortals. A fragile flower like her will be trampled upon. She has lived in the human realm for too long, the realm of immortals is not a place for her. Worst outcome, she will be killed for being in someone's way despite being too weak."

"No…" Sophie's heart broke.

The goddess smiled after getting the reaction she wanted. On the surface, she looked concerned.

"There is a way for her to return permanently. Ultimately, she will lose all her power and get rejected by the realm of immortals, then she will be your daughter again. This will all be a nightmare or the past."
