"I wasn't sure they were actually a thing." She looked around in awe.

"Now you do. Come. The sun will set soon. Let's take a walk and we can climb the mountain in the morning." He took her hand to lead her away.

Following his lead, she took note of the plants she had never seen before. He plucked some white, round fruits from one of the short trees. "These are delicious. We can bring them back to Cannon Islands. I'm sure you will love them."

"Tell me the truth. Are you aiming to feed me into a pig?" She laughed. Why was he thinking of food at every turn?

He turned to her with a smile. "I heard that the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach."

"The saying was the opposite of what I heard last time." She countered.

He nodded in understanding. "Is that why you started cooking for me once in a while?"

"What the… no way!" She shook her head in denial.

He raised an eyebrow in amusement, not believing her.

Her hands flew to her hips. "I just wanted to try new recipes, okay? I gave you food because I can't cook in your house and leave you hungry."

"So you don't want to win my heart, then." He sounded a little disappointed for a moment before he remarked, "That's okay. I will win yours instead."

"Tell me more about the Wandering Islands. How many are they?" She asked.

He knew that she was evading the topic but did not expose her. "There are three now."

"What happened to the others? Did they get swallowed up by the sea?" She was curious.

"No. Humans settled down on them. They are now known as Cannon Islands." He explained.

"Huh?" She was surprised when it sank in. The similarity in names now made sense.

"Do they really disappear because they are enchanted?" She asked about yet another of Vivian's theories.

"They don't actually wander but yes, they are enchanted. Deities started fighting over their ownership so King Rian cursed them to belong to no one. Actually, there is only one portal to access them and I accidentally found it in the past." He revealed.

She looked at him in awe. "You are awesome. While others stumble upon gems while on their adventure, you find portals to Islands. Do you go on many adventures?"

"I like exploring." He responded. It was yet another similarity between them.

She walked a step behind him while lost in thought. When she almost bumped into a tree, he pulled her to his side.

"Why are you lost in thought? Are you scared that King Rian will find out we are here?"

"That too." She frowned now that she thought about it. "Will you get into trouble?"

"It's not my fault that he left a portal open. He has himself to blame." He shirked the blame and looked at her intensely, knowing that something else was on her mind.

"I'm starting to question why Vivian knew so much about the realm of immortals. Most of those things weren't even on blogs." She thought aloud. "Let's not get started on how strange it is that some bloggers knew such accurate information. Not many people believed it which makes it even more far-fetched." If the blogs were about witches, countless people would believe them even though not many people had seen them in real life.

"Maybe someone kept books and records." He guessed.

"I guess." She sighed.

"Are you tired?"

He carried her off the ground before she had the chance to answer him.

"Put me down!" She punched his chest. "You can't just carry a woman without warning."

He smiled and let her down. Before her feet could touch the ground, he steadied her in his arms. "That was supposed to be the warning. Let's go back to Cannon Islands before the sun sets."

He raced the whole way back and she had no choice but to hold onto him tightly. When they returned to the cave and he finally let her down, her face was red in embarrassment.

He brushed a finger against her face to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "You are so beautiful."

His lips landed on hers without warning. He held her hands so she wouldn't push him as he hungrily sucked her lips. When he finally pulled back, he wrapped his arms around her to support her as he kissed the side of her neck.

"I think that's my cue to kill you." She exaggerated.

"Oh yeah? I'll be happy dying after a loving kiss." He chuckled against her neck. She could feel his heart beating against her chest. Hers was racing too and it had nothing to do with the shock of him running all the way back with her in his arms.

"Let's go to the hotel." She pushed him away. He took her hand in his as they walked towards the hotel and she couldn't shake it off no matter how hard she tried so she ignored it. He had already kissed her twice. Holding hands was nothing in comparison.

Seeing that she had given up, he slightly loosened his grip on her hand.

"We would like a room for one night." He spoke to the woman at the reception of the hotel that the crew had booked for them the last time.

Jasmine glared at him. "Two rooms."

The woman looked shocked and glanced at their intertwined hands. Jasmine pulled her hand away from his forcefully. "We are not a couple. Can we get two rooms, please?"

Before she could respond, Dairon took Jasmine's hand with a smile. "I'm sorry. She is in a bad mood. Can we get two rooms?"

"I would recommend staying in the same room to solve your differences. It's normal for a couple to fight but you shouldn't let her be on her own when she is upset." The woman gave them a key labelled 312 and gave them directions.

She was fuming in anger as they neared the room. "You did that on purpose."

"I had no choice. This is Cannon Islands where everyone gets married before falling in love. If they know that we are holding hands despite not being a married couple, the whole island will be talking about us in the next two hours." He justified his reason.

"Then why did you hold my hand?"

"Because I wanted to."

He was a lost cause. She grabbed the key from him. "I don't care where you sleep. I'm taking the room. Go book another one or whatever."

He watched her open the room, get in and lock the door, then he appeared beside her.

She almost passed out in shock.

"You do know that I can teleport, right?" He laughed at her silly way of keeping him out.

"Why didn't you teleport to another room, then?" She questioned.

"You said that you didn't care where I sleep. I want to sleep beside you and that has nothing to do with where you are." He flopped onto the bed. It was large enough for both of them to fit comfortably.

Seeing her reluctance, he patted the space beside him. "Haven't we slept in the same bed before? What difference does it make if we do it again?"

"We are not married." She kept her distance and didn't go over.

"We can change that in a few minutes." He smiled. "Marriage is simpler for deities than it is for humans. I just have to put a ring on your finger. After that, we can decide whether or not we want to throw a banquet to celebrate it."

"You know that's not what I meant." She glared at him, though she thought about his words. Wasn't that kind of marriage sloppy?

If all it took was a ring, what happened if a wife took off the ring out of anger or to free the blood circulation in her finger? Would they be divorced?

He stood from the bed. "I'll pick you up in the morning to go mountain climbing."

"Where are you going?" She couldn't help asking.

"To the Caves of Cannon. I will spend the night there." He headed for the door. "Make sure you lock the door and close the windows. Robbery here is much worse than in Efinchil."

She felt guilty hearing his words. He had paid for the room after all, yet here she was kicking him out. She should be thankful that he was letting her have a place to sleep beside him.

"Wait. Don't go." She blushed in embarrassment when he turned. "We can share the bed. You will stick to your side of the bed, right?"

A smile formed on his lips. "Sure."

He took off his shirt and climbed onto the bed. Why did it seem like he had been waiting for her to call him back? He was way too excited about this.

Ignoring the weird feeling, she turned off the lamps and climbed in as far as she could from him.

A hand grabbed her and pulled her so hard that she yelped. She landed across his chest and he secured her with his arms.

"You are going back on your words!" She warned.

"Of course not, flower." He smirked. "I promised to keep to my side of the bed. I didn't make any promises about not pulling you into my arms."
