Chapter 170: IV Chapter 17 – A warning softly spoken

Heading to the Hyuga, they were welcomed by people making way for them. The Patriarchs Wife, a woman Gene only knew from seeing, came running as soon as she saw her daughter in Itachis arms, still sleeping, sobbing she thanked Itachi for it. Meanwhile, her Husband stood behind her, giving them a suspicious look. 

Gene, having no patience left as she was shooting Sora, returned the look with equal intensity, keeping her head held high as she gave a wink at Shisui who stepped forward throwing their captive at the ground. "This one should know something." he said, and Minato came forward. 

"Anyone else." he asked and Shisui shook his head. 

"None that life to tell the tale." he answered. 

"Good. I see he will not run on us." he said, eyeing the arrow that was still sticking out of the shattered kneecap.

"Not fast." Shisui commented. "I would like to bring my Clan-sister back home, this has caused her great distress."

"I understand, get the girl home, and to sleep." He looked at Gene. "Get cleaned up as well, and then I want to know what happened." 

"Got is, but I need to speak to Hyuga-dono first." she felt the words burning on her tongue, walking up to him, leaving Sora to Shisui. It was right she did not like the man, nor the way people were treated in it, if it was up to her then she would just let it happen and screw it all. But Konoha needed the Hyuga, and it needed them strong, and it needed them whole, and not a shattered Clan. The loss would be tremendous, as it would have been if the Uchiha had taken heavier damage back then. 

"Watch your back." she whispered into his ear, tiptoeing and forcing him to bow downwards. "Your Clan's behavior and treatment of the branch families is about to backfire on you, badly, there is enough determination there, enough for some of them to even commit suicide to keep their secrets." he looked at her with a hard glint in his eyes. 

"I am not soft like you, they dare, and they will face the consequences." 

"Look after yourself." she answered. "Because, I for once, so not disagree with them, although their ways may not be my cup of tea, tell your wife, she and the baby, the children will be safe with me, I make no guarantees for anyone else."

With that, she stepped back and left the Man who was staring at her with a hard look in his eyes behind. Tugging at Shisuis sleeve, she took him with her and walked off to the Yuki. 

Parties were off the table for the foreseeable future. 

Sora immediately wandered to Izayoi, who spend time glaring at anything that moved while taking her with him and making his way to their room. Apparently neither Sora nor he slept well alone in a room, so they shared a bunk bed together.
With the two of them in a single room and Izayois guard a castle wall, not even Gene and Shisui would have any entry to the two of them. Trust was a thing they still needed to earn on that level, although they were trusted more than everyone else in the village. 

"Another war." Shisui muttered and gulped.

"I do not want another war Shisui, and to be honest... I am willing to do a lot to prevent one." Gene noted to him and signed, going through her hair with a hand. "For now, let us just hope no uprising will happen and that guy we captured will spill his secrets." 

"Go to sleep, Gene." Shisui said. "Tomorrow will be an exhausting day" 

"Says the right person, want to sleep in my room, I am unsure if I can even sleep tonight and a person to chat with would be a giant help."

"I get a futon." he muttered. "It has been a while, do you still have that Kunai under your pillow?" 

".... Yes." she answered him, blinking. "...can't sleep without it." 

"I see."
