Tsukiko made her way through the forest, alone. It was an unused feeling, but one she almost relished in. Taking a deep breath she soaked up the peace knowing it would end rather sooner than later.
The Forgotten were coming closer and closer and with them the problems, if she was quite honest she almost wanted to turn around and leave, but she wouldn't. Not if it involved her protégée and a dept to be repaid, so she spurred forward. If she couldn't run, then she could at least make sure this entire thing would be over rather sooner than later.
"How much can you tell me?" she asked the companion whose appearance she noticed as soon as it went uphill from here on, one breached the territory of the forgotten.
"Nothing." the raspy answer came, and she saw Daiki Uzumaki appear next to her. Him she knew. With a frown she tilted her head to greet the Kages advisor, a sign of respect, he returned it in like.
"Nothing is not useful, I will need whatever I can get my hands on."
"Still Nothing I would speak of here" He answered her coolly.
"How encouraging." Tsukiko retorted snorting. "Your Kage is aware, while I may have ears and eyes in most places, they are not among your people."
"I dare say it might be different." He said. "You have one of the most widespread information networks in the Shinobi world, even if you downplay it. But it is not that network we need, it is your skill in finding people."
Tsukiko stilled. "Partially, I am so good at it because people speak to me." she told him. "An advantage I do not have in your village."
"You have the Kages words, that will suffice."
"I somehow doubt that, strongly so." she muttered, and soon they stood in front of the giant seal construct that hid the forgotten from the eye of the world.
Entering, she felt many eyes on her, hidden and obvious ones. Aoki was also waiting for her. He bowed to her. "I am to help you with your investigation." he told her, and internally Tsukiko strongly doubted that he had full permission for such things. Again, whatever mess he got into with Chloe was his deal and not hers.
"I will have to speak with your better half." she stated, and he nodded, accompanying her through the village. Sure enough, they drew quite the eyes from the people around them. Since they were hardly ever welcoming strangers, it was no surprise.
This investigation will be a pain. I can already feel it.
Signing, she observed the village's layout, and felt like in some throwback place of her old world. The usual language spoken had the familiar tint of her homeland. The names used were a curious mix between this world's names and the ones of her old world.

Slavic names too. How strange after all those years. A conundrum, this place was indeed an outliner. The Kage building was different too, Philippe always had a thing for architecture, but on this he really had aced one for himself. A tower of steel and glass, it reminded her of modern buildings of the early 21st century. If the technology existed back in his times, she was sure it would have been a skyscraper overgrown and buried under the ivy and other plants like know.
Entering she was greeted by the reception and led upstairs passing a door that was left and right giving a small view in what looked like an aquarium.
"She is still breeding fishes, no?" Tsukiko answered and earned an agreeing huff. The conference room was like the one in Konoha, a wooden table and at it's helm Chloe. Unlike before, she wore her Shinobi Badge in full view, the Senju emblem on it.
"A Senju." Tsukiko murmured. "Of all things, you had to end up as a Senju."
"Well, what am I to say?" Chloe shrugged her shoulders and Tsukiko looked through them, neat writing, Arabic letters.
The latter had her give Chloe an eye.
"Except those in this room, I have no one else I fully trust." she said. And Tsukiko looked around. Daiki, a blond secretary like woman her name was Lucia, Lucy something and Aoki were all that were present. Well, another encouraging thing. Tremendously so.
"We have an outsider among our people, and someone is hiding him. We need someone independent to find them."
"No way in hell." Tsukiko said and put the papers back. "People here will not speak with me."
"Then tell me what you need, so they speak with you."
"Your Husband." she said, and as expected. She found a kunai deeply embedded into the wooden table.
"Calm down, I need him for conversational purposes, a guide so to say, not for fighting."
"I sure hope so." Chloe hissed.
"You know me, I do not break my words." Tsukiko hissed back words that were not spoken hanging between them, Chloe settled down.
"I understand."
