Chapter 87: II Chapter 42 – Team 13

"Hokage-san by all means there are more important things to be discussed right now." Someone said, Gene did not recognize him, but she internally agreed a new elite Team getting announced now would be a bit off-topic. 

"No, I believe this to be just the right moment." He said and nodded at his Wife, who stepped forward. 

"The Academy Exams have been completed, but the Teams not formed, we believe that this action will bring back a Part of Normalcy to Konoha." 

"I agree, but what do the graduates have to do with a new Elite Team?" The Sarutobi representative asked them. 

"The Team will be composed mainly of Graduates from this year." Minato said and took out a few documents just to again encounter the lack of a Table and handed them to Shikaku-san. 

"The Team leader will be Tsukiko Hatake-san, she graduated this year, finally has a last name, and already held the title of a special Jonin for a while now. The other two fixed members will be Itachi Uchiha, Gen... Gene Yuki Be... however, and the third member is currently open on discussion, but Seiyu Hyuga is right now the most probable, once he has recovered." 

"Unacceptable, this child, we are not sure if he is even Human anymore, he did not graduate the exams, and he does not have the skill to be a Shinobi!" 

"Then give me another better member, and I mean someone who is capable of working with Gene, Tsukiko and Itachi. None of the Shinobi inside major Clans, exceptions being their own clans, here have ever made any effort to even attempt figuring out their skill during their time at the Academy, or not to encounter them with anything but pointless hostility. We all have seen what Gene is capable of during the Fight with the Kyuubi, she had Academy scores in practical lessons at the bottom of the class. The same with Tsukiko, the one who not only had been my assistant advisor but also the one to command and coordinate the attacks on the Kyuubi, her combat ability might not be at Jonin Level, her Chakra reserves little above a normal Genin, but she is capable of beating Chuunin in close combat and holds a brilliant tactical mind, yet again she was placed dead last in the Academy in every and any practical class, I am seriously doubting the skill of all Teachers there to not have noticed. They made no secret of it, and everyone who made an effort to visit the training grounds a bit further out the village can go visit the remains of their training. Hard Training, or do you think that the snowstorm we saw manifested itself on a whim." 

None of the Shinobi Clan representatives made a sound. Suddenly the envoys on the commoner fraction started laughing and the main leader from the Trading Union almost barked out his booming laughter before calming down and eyeing the Shinobi Clan diplomats. 

"Even we, the citizen, knew way before of their skill as Shinobi, or at least we knew they were more skilled than they appeared." He said, and suddenly had their attention. "It's not as if many of you respect us, they did and sticked out like sore thumbs with it and we all saw them when they walked home battered after training in the evenings. In any case, Hokage-sama we the commoner fraction would like for you to pick a civilian Shinobi for this team, we assure you most of them never had an issue with them." 

"I second it." Shikaku-san said, "it would improve the balance and I would personally opt for a Medic-nin." 

The Hokage frowned. "The Team will be partly taking on diplomatic and Anbu missions, skill is needed, gentleman." 

"Diplomatic Missions?" The Kurama elder raised an eyebrow. 

"Indeed, they will among other guide an important Envoy from the Fire Daimyo to the Sand and later tour to Kiri, the land of Waters. It will also be their first Mission, I handed the report already to Tsukiko-san. I hope all of you have decided who will be nominated by the end of this week, so no objections will arise, the other Teams have been put together already they are inside the Essays. Moving from that, shall we continue with the financial situation..." 

A stack of papers was handed out to all people sitting there. 

Meanwhile, a new Table was brought in and the broken one removed. Gene internally snickered watching all the dressed to the nines people, head held high, dignity in their every pore wait there sitting in a chair circle while a new conference table was brought in for the papers.

"Are you certain you wish to send Yuki-san to Kiri, after all it was the place her Clan was destroyed by." another Shinobi said, Gene looked for his clan symbol but did not recognize it. 

"Kedounin-Clan, they specialize on infiltration and can make almost perfect copies of their victims.", next to her, Shisui muttered. "They are a small, semi influential Clan but people listen to them as they make very skilled assassins no one really want's to have as their opponents."

"Ah." 

"The one who spoke for the Trading Union is a member of the Kagetsu Family, they are not Shinobi, but they have money, more than they could ever spend." 

"Ah. Interesting." 

"The Kagetsu even tried to recruit Tsukiko once, by engaging her to their eldest Son, Youichi." 

"Wow, did he survive?"

"Kakashi made fillet out of him but still breathing, he might not look like it, but he sure loves his little sister." 

Gene giggled and so did Shisui as they discussed over the other members and representatives, the who is who of the Land of Fire was present when another band caused a major disruption. 

"I will not.", Tsukiko said, her voice dripping in anger. "Accept a f*ing, b******," a number of profanities left her mouth. "As a member of my Team, we will keep ourselves a Veto, I know this is supposed to be an Elite Team, Part Anbu, Part Clan, part diplomatic symbol of Konohan union and sign of recovery, but I draw the line to a **** of a rich useless second generation brat in my Team, no matter their skill." 

Bang!

"I second." Gene called out, raising her hand. "As the future head of the Yuki. Itachi is okay, he is one of us, but one heir inside the Team is enough." 

I really, really do not want to end up in a team with a person we constantly need to keep an eye on, so they don't get themselves  in trouble.

"Regardless, they will be called Team 13." Minato-san said and watched with a sign how another Table collapsed in the middle of the room and this time took a lot of papers with it.
