Chapter 125: When A God Makes A Mistake

A FEW MOMENTS EARLIER

ELF KING GERALT'S POV:-

-Boom

Another hit at the Demon King and he gets pushed away before knocking back at the air and attacking me once again with a punch heavier than before.

"You seem tired Asmodeus, are you sure you are okay?" I speak and punch him once again. This time he dodges my attack and approaches behind me before getting knocked back and finally standing at a distance away from me. His eyes are almost dead, with a lack of any form of emotions in them.

'It does not seem like he is going to indulge in a conversation. Since a God might hear my words, should I take a chance and talk to him or should I leave it all to Morpheus?...What should I do?....'

"You are going to die Geralt and then I am ordered to kill the kids to bring out your so-called saviour, Morpheus and since he is estimated to be stronger than you, both I and the previous Devil King will be fighting against him. At worst, we will both die and then a young God will kill Morpheus,"he speaks in a monotonous tone as he looks at me. His eyes seem to be trying to look for an answer. I wonder what he is thinking right now.

I then speak as I move towards him and attack him,"Is that so? Well, since you are quite sure about those things, especially your death. Can you do me a favour?" I speak as I look at him with a slightly mischievous smile.

DEMON KING ASMODEUS' POV:-

He is there, standing in front of me with a mischievous smile as he asks if I, the Demon King, can do a favour to my nemesis, the Elf King.

Standing with the same smile for a few moments before approaching me with another attack, which I dodge swiftly, he asks," What if I tell you to not kill the kids but follow and help Morpheus instead? I do not know how I will die, but let's just take it as it will surely take place. Then what do you think happens next? Do you want to know what will happen next? Do you, Asmodeus?" His smile widens, and a grin takes over his face. He seems to be enjoying the process he is thinking in his mind currently, as he speaks,"that so called God will be f*cked to the core." 

I look at him, grinning maniacally at those words. He seems to completely believe in his statement, as if that is for sure to happen. I wonder what gave them the confidence to do it, but well, it does not concern m-

"So, can you do me a favour and help us out, Asmodeus? It might be a pipe dream for you right now, but think about it. Just what's the worst that could happen? Just what's the worst thing that can happen after that? Your death. You want to die anyway, right? I have already placed a curse upon you that will kill you by at most a month or at least a week. So, you will be dying by my hands only and not by anyone else's hand. All you need to do is help us. Come on, can't you even do this much for your worst natural enemy?" He speaks with a childish tone as he keeps babbling about me changing sides to them.

'I wonder... if it will change anything at all? Is there really some way to do it? Is there anything I can do that will change my fate? I-

[All Elves: I Order You To Die] 

I hear the voice of the Sage, Galadriel and see all the souls of the Elves scattering around. King Geralt seems to be saying a goodbye to me and saying,"Please, Asmodeus!" as he finally vanishes into thin air.

Then a panicked child comes in front out of nowhere and starts using Soul Magic in a hurried manner as the dissipating soul joins back gradually. The Sage then arrives in front of that kid and raises his hands towards him, proceeding to kill the kid. The kid seems to glare at him.

'So he knows Soul Magic at that level, eh? He might have fooled the others but not me. Just what level of Soul mastery does that kid have? Well, since it's all an illusion that kid created, he will surely be paying the price. I am sorry, Geralt, but it looks like you are clearly wrong. You are clearly wrong….but…"

But I will do what you want, not because I trust that kid, but because I just want to die fighting against the one who used me rather than the one who asked for my help. Yeah, to die like that will really feel much better than to die in vain.

I then channel all my energy into my feet and dash towards the area where the kid and the Sage are.

LIGHT'S POV:-

I see the Sage in front of me. Aether is inside me helping me channel my mana as I take control over our body in order to control the dissipating souls. 

'Damn it! This bastard really did something like this.' I think as I glare at him, along with controlling the souls back into their original state. To think it would require this much control. I am glad I did all the training I could back then or else we might have all been f*cked for real. 

I then see him raising his hand at me as if going for the kill.

'Aether...what next?' I ask Aether, but no answer comes. Given the intensity of the situation, I can't even look inside my consciousness to see what he is doing right now. 

Then

I see Lucy kicking me away and starts to dissipate as the Sage's attack hits her. My eyes widen as I use more mana and use it to channel her soul back into her original state, as well. Then the Sage looked carefully at Lucy before going for an attack at her, but Chase and Corey dash and take her away using some form of combo move. The Sage seems to be unaffected, as he appears behind them immediately and kicks all three of them away, but the Demon King interrupts and kicks the Sage away. The Demon King's punches demolish the area, it's a really powerful attack but the Demon King seems really exhausted with that one attack. As for the Sage, he is pushed a few metres away before he looks at the Demon King with slight confusion in his eyes.

I then see an Angel and a Devil arriving in front of me and then taking me away in a direction away from the Sage as the Devil, Leraye….Lucifer speaks,"How long before Aether will come back?"

My eyes slightly widen before I speak with a serious voice,"30 Seconds"

He looks at me, then nods and then puts me on the ground and stands in between the Sage and me. The Angel, Lilith, also stands in between me and the Sage as she stands beside Leraye.

Then the Sage speaks,"Why are you all doing this? You clearly don't understand a thing, do you?" He seems to be speaking to me with clear disappointment in his eyes. 

"27 seconds," I answered him with a slight smile on my face. His eyes seem to be wondering what I am trying to say.

"What are you getting at?" He speaks as he vanishes and arrives behind me, but Kaneto attacks the ground below me with a superior slash, pushing both me and the ground away from the Sage in the process.

"22 seconds" I speak again with a slightly nervous tone. Please work! 

Then Leraye and Lilith move for an attack, which the Sage easily dodges as he observes both of them. He then attacks Lucifer with another type of attack, but Lilith comes in between and takes that attack and then Leraye once again attacks the Sage, but it does no harm at all. He then steps back and pushes Lilith away with another attack, but the Sage catches Lilith and gives her a heavy blow. Lucifer desperately jumps and attacks the Sage. The Sage then looks behind Lucifer and neglects another attack that stemmed from another unexpected person….Ladros. Ladros seems to be glaring at the Sage as he too joins the fray.

Then the sage sighs before looking at me with even more disappointment. I wonder what that bastard is thinking.

"12 Seconds" I think as I reduce the time by using a part of my own soul. It would be detrimental to my future but...I still want to do it. I wonder what Aether is doing right now.

I then look at them all, trying their best to fight against the Sage, who seems to easily neglect any and all attacks coming towards him.

"8 seconds" I speak and look at him.

"4 seconds"

"2 seconds"

Then he finally arrives before me as he speaks," pathetic and futile."

"1 second"

He then raises his hand at me and attacks me with a bored expression, hitting me and disintegrating me into pieces.

Then…

I look at my clone, which dissipated a few metres ahead of me as I had the most wicked smile on my face ever as every soul finally joins back and gets back to its original state.

"I don't understand. Why are you so desperate to do this? Can't you understand that if I can do it once, I can do it all over again? Are you really that naive? Tell me oh so so great Morpheus, what are you going to do now after you have achieved this?" he speaks as he looks at me with a mocking smile.

"You know what I am going to say? I am going to say, Aether F*cking Exchange."
