Chapter 126: When A God Makes A Mistake#2

[Author's Note: A heads up from me. This is the most most most confusing chapter you might find inthis story. This begins the next volume and brings the whole story to whole another plot than with which it was moving. You might not understand this chapter at all and feel like too many things are missing, but trust the author as next so many chaps are going to explain everything that happened in this war and also that did not happen in this war. It's going to be an epic ride, so be seated. At least it made me excited when I planned the next 4arcs *smile*. Enjoy!!!!] 

LILITH'S POV:-

"You know what I am going to say? I am going to say, Aether f*cking exchange," Morpheus, or probably the one who took over his body, says as he grins at God. The God looks at Morpheus carefully with a confused expression as he seems to be thinking about something.

Morpheus' expression changes from a wide grin to an expressionless one. He looks at the God for a few moments as he observes the Sage.

"Where have I heard that name again?" The Sage seems to ponder over something. Then…

"All of you are insects. Why can't you fight like one? I am waiting for one of you to die in the fight, yet all of you are alive here. This is not interesting at all," a child...no, a God or more precisely a lower hierarchical God steps on the battlefield as he whines about no deaths.

'So he is the one who planned everything, huh?' I wonder as I see him slowly but angrily moving towards Aether. Reaching closer to him, he speaks,"Insect. I see you can use life and soul magic. You are my pet from now on." He declares as he smiles at him with a proud expression, then turns at Lucifer and then at me, then at the Sage.

"You can't even entertain me properly. Worthless, just as you are supposed to be. Well, I don't want to leave any evidence of my illegal arrival here, so let's just kill all of you and move back with my toy, I guess." He talks to himself with a satisfied yet bored expression. He then looks at Aether once again with a prideful expression then speaks," You are in the presence of your master, KNEEL" his voice gets heavier and the gravity increases around us as everyone of us kneel before him. Well, almost everyone as Aether was still standing there with the same expression, not making any moves yet.

The God seems to be slightly amazed at him as he speaks, "Insect! Your will is quite strong, it seems. Yup, looks like I made the right decision to take you in. But you see, you must kneel.." the child's voice gets heavier as he looks at Aether with a dominant expression and speaks,"or else everyone you ever knew will die as brutall-"

"I….don't understand," Aether spoke with an emotionless voice as he looked at that God. The God looks at Aether's face with a slightly confused expression.

Aether continues to speak as he looks at that God with his emotionless eyes, "I don't understand. You are just a God, standing in front of a human. I mean, a human is standing in front of you." God looks at Aether with an even more confused expression,we were also looking at Aether with the same expression. 

"What do you mean?" The God asks with a curious expression as he slightly tilts his head with a smile on his face.

"What I mean is…" Morpheus sighs a bit before looking straight into God's eyes as he continues to speak, "you are just a God. How come you aren't kneeling in front of a human like me?" 

God's expression changes to that of an angry one. Looks like his ego has been critically hit as he speaks," what did you just say?"

Aether's expression turns to a dominant one as he looks down on that God and speaks," What I said is...KNEEL!!" 

And the God knelt.

SIN OF PRIDE VLAD'S POV:-

"KNEEL!" I hear the dominant voice of that 'child' and then I see God kneeling in front of him. Not only me but also everyone else around seems to be shocked to no end. To think I would see something like this before I die. To think something like this is even possible.

'You were right, your majesty. He really is someone far too dangerous for us to handle,' I think as I recall back what the Devil King asked me to do. 

He is reincarnated, isn't he? Just which God reincarnated him? Have they gone crazy to bring someone like him into this world?

I look at that child walking towards that God with an expressionless face. His face seems quite scary, to be honest. I hear him speaking then,

"You know, I have been wondering about a lot of things ever since I have arrived in this world…" 

The God looks at that child, Morpheus, with a furious expression as tries his best to stand up, but the most he can do is glare at him.

Aether continues speaking," first, who reincarnated me? Are they crazy or something? Or maybe it was just random. I don't know, neither do I care about such things...but you see...You guys separated me from my family and if that wasn't bad enough, you also almost killed all the friends I made in this world." I hear him giving a nonsensical speech with a calm yet stony expression as he touches God's head.

LIGHT'S POV:-

I look at Aether as he touches the head of the God and allows me to observe his soul. I look into his soul and see that there wasn't much difference between his soul and that of a King. It makes me curious if all the souls remain the same even after they attain Godhood, or is it something else totally? 

Knowing what Aether wants, I channel mana into his body and slightly manipulate his soul to make a few small changes. His soul tries to resist heavily, but something doesn't let him.

'I wonder how Aether is doing this. Normally I would have been not even able to touch his soul, but with this it's as easy as making a cup of tea. Though I think I understand how he is doing this.' I observe and think as I change his soul slightly.

To put it in simple terms, Aether is changing the way that God is thinking..don't know how but it's something related to the way he talks, and moves which creates a chain reaction within the God's body and makes his soul automatically put his guard down. 

'This is….too scary...Aether... you yourself are equal or perhaps even above a God...is what I want to think but I see it more clearly than others….Aether is...sacrificing a part of his soul in order to do this. To erase a part of his soul in exchange for slightly manipulating someone else's soul. I wonder if it's worth it. Though, if he does not do that ...is there any other way out of it?'

The more I think about it, the more it makes me confused. I wonder about how I finally made all the changes necessary to it. I then see others moving a few steps away from God. The God then vanishes from there as I observe him run away from here. He is still alive...but...there is something different about him.' A smile forms on my face as I realise the future plans that we have….then I see Aether losing consciousness and I take over him from there.

'Sleep brother. You overdid it, but you did good.' I think as I completely take over him. He won't be waking up anytime soon, but since it's him, he should be able to arrive as soon as possible. I hope it does not take too long.

I then opened my eyes before….losing consciousness all over again. The last thing I remember was an unbearable pain all over my body.

"Leader...when are you going to wake up?" I hear a voice and slowly open my eyes to see Lucy crying with her head on my legs. My eyes then look at the place where I was. Sitting on a wide bed, I see Leraye and Lilith talking about something in front of the window. I see Chase sitting beside me with an aghast face. HIs face was slightly tired, and it looked like he had cried a lot. 

I try speaking, but my voice does not reach anyone as I realise I can't move at all. 

'Wait, if I can't move, then how I was able to see everything, I think as I realise I was inside my consciousness. I see two more people playing a complicated game with each other. A smile forms on my face as I see one of them smiling and the other one making an annoyed face.

'Even though you are playing against yourself, you still don't lose, huh?'

Aether then looks at me for a few moments before speaking.

"We have a very very complicated situation, Light, and I need you to brace yourself. Because things are going to be much more complicated from here onwards."

I observe him making a serious expression as they both walk towards me. Then, after reaching closer to me, Aether speaks,

"I am going to vanish for the next few months and you are going to handle my body. Dark will help you out in the meanwhile," he drops a bombshell and then points at Dark before vanishing from there.

Stupefied, my eyes widen as I look at Dark for answers.

"Well….let's see what we can find inside the soul of a God.." I speak as I look at the vast Kingdom in front of me.
