In this world, everyone has a dream. Small or big, it doesn't matter, they all have one. Obviously, it applies to me too and my dream is to make my parents proud of me. To keep them always happy. Was this too much to ask for? Is it too late to start for that? I wish...if things could have been different.

The sound of the gun firing comes. With fear, my eyes close on their own. Somebody screams, a lady or perhaps a girl. As if by instinct many other girls start screaming the next instant. But my mind is too numb to pay attention to those details. My father...mother...they are gone. What shall I do next? My eyes slowly open. There is fury in my eyes as I turn to look at Paul, the guy who shot at...

'Huh?!' Amidst the confusion I see something unbelievable. Paul...he is wriggling and screaming in pain as blood covers his hand. The first scream...was his? His guards and other people he brought with him are trying to help him but his uncontrolled movement is hurting him more.

I turn to look on the other side to find my parents safe and my sister hiding behind them. A sigh of relief escapes my mouth as I look at them alive. My fury dies down and soon confusion enters my eyes. Observing the situation a few things can be drawn out:

First, the person who shot Paul is not with them. Though that's obvious, it also means that he is helping us. But is he? Or maybe he is the same as Paul? Huh? Why did I think that? He might as well be just a guest here. But who is he?

Second, since he didn't kill Paul, they aren't enemies but most probably that guy is on our side. So, someone who is 'humane' in our relatives, huh? Can it be Uncle? He did say he joined the military before.

As I was thinking, a voice start approaching us. The voice was of a helicopter...multiple helicopters...and cars. Then I hear a familiar voice which I have heard a few hours before,

"Hello..1..2..3..1..2..3..mike testing. Mike testing. Okay, so mister Paul. You see, unfortunately, and very unfortunately I ended up taking all of your assets and money. But fret not, cause fortunately and very, fortunately, I gave it all to charity in your name. Today the great sage Paul donated 200 Billion worths of property, business and other liquid funds in the name of the charity," a voice on a speaker was surrounding the whole area. Everyone was quietly listening to it. Some wondered what is happening. Others were curious about the voice.

A smile formed on my face as I heard the voice of my saviour. Like an Angel singing a melody to my ears, the more he spoke the more it felt good. It was the voice of Aether, one who will be called the King in the future of this world.

"WHO ARE YOU? AND WHY THE FU*K ARE YOU AGAINST ME? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO ARE YOU MESSING WITH?..." Paul started speaking nonsense out of his fury. He kept laughing at times and at times he just kept throwing threats. Meanwhile, the helicopter's landing voice came and a knocking voice started coming from the closed door. All the guards pointed the guns at the door. Everyone looked at the door curiously to know about the person who came to save the situation.

But before someone entered, all the guards present there had their mobile phones started going crazy all of a sudden. It panicked them before they picked up their phone only to turn their faces shocked. In the next few moments, they dropped their weapons and got on their knees.

'Just what?!?' Looking at the situation not only me but everyone present there couldn't help but get stupefied. Just who could be powerful enough to do this with just one message. Soon the knocking came again. Since no one was moving, I moved forward,

"Coming! Just a sec!" Honestly it is exciting to speak in this particular situation. Thinking along those lines I ran to the door and unlocked it before slowly opening it. As the door opened, the same old smiling face of the handsome man I saw before came in front of my eyes,

"Been a while, Alex, how are you doing?" Aether spoke as he moved inside. Behind him were at least 100 men in military uniform. Taking a peak I found a few army helicopters and jeeps too. I couldn't help but gulp as I once again take a look at that man,

"I am fine Sir Aether, how are you doing?" I ask him with a slightly weak voice.

-Smack

"Owww"

A hand chop hits my hand. I look up to find Aether giving me the same funny glare as before. A slight chuckle escapes my mouth as I once again look at him. Yeah, he is the same one I met before.

-Smack

"Owww" He did that again before smiling and moving forward. I too started to follow him.

"Wh-Wh-Why? Why are yo-yo-you here? I don't reme-me-member getting ag-ag-against yo-yo-you in any way possible? Why are you against m-m-m-me? Why are.....interfering in.....plans? WHY? WHY? WHY..." Paul's expression turns horrified as he looks at Aether. Does he know him...no it's not just him...Everyone present in this place...the guards, the guests, mother, father and sister. Even the beatdown groom to be seems to be knowing him. They have admiration in their eyes. Just who...who are you...Sir Aether?

"Well, I'll just say that everything you did until now. From the time you started that underworld business to the point you stole that serum. Everything that you did....is something that had the potential to harm my family and you know that too. If not as a personal enemy then I have various other reasons to destroy you," Aether's expression turns serious as he speaks to Paul. Paul seems to be stupefied at his reasoning before looking at him again with a furious expression,

"Pray that I won't get out of the prison early or else," a vicious smile forms on his face as he signals to cut off his head. But then Aether chuckles in return,

"Do you really think I bought military to send you to prison? Are you going crazy?" These words once again changed Paul's expression. He seems horrified as realisation struck him. Not wasting a moment he called his parents. The call was picked up immediately before a voice came,

"We have disowned you."

And then the call cut off.

Paul then started looking around for something and soon ran in a direction to pick up an object. It was the same gun he had before someone shot at his hand. Now that I think about it, from where did Aether or his army men shoot Paul? Examining slightly I found a broken window on the top that answered my question.

Before Paul can do anything, one of the military men shot him again in the other hand. Having no other option Paul ran straight towards my sister but then a gun fired on his legs.

"Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? I did everything for you. I could have given you anything you want. Anything you needed would have been yours. I loved you so much. I have always loved you. Yet, why can't you reciprocate my feelings ever? What is it that I have that you don't like? What is it that you like that I don't have? Answer me. ANSWER ME! YOU BIT*CH! YOU WH***! ANSWER ME!!" silence surrounded the venue as Paul started taking out his anger with a careful and sorrowful voice. His last moments passed as he tried seeking answers from his supposed lover.

He was supposed to be the bad guy. He was supposed to be the one who would have killed my parents. He was destroying my whole life. Yet, why do I? Why do I feel so bad for him? Am I evil to think like that? Couldn't things be different?

"There are no evil people Alex. Only bad situations and bad decisions and sometimes wrong choices. It is okay to feel sad for someone else. It is what makes us human," Aether spoke as he looked at me with a smile. I nod at him before wiping a tear that came out of nowhere.

I saw my sister touching Paul's head as if comforting him for his afterlife. The military men also helped the Groom to be and soon the party came to an end. Aether explained everything from his side regarding Paul's case and other things. He didn't speak much about me except the fact that we sat beside each other on the flight.

People soon flocked around Aether asking him for autographs and questions regarding his life and business. Aether bid goodbye to all of us before leaving the area.

Did he do it for me? Or was it more of a business? I can't determine. Soon, I got back in my room and started searching for everything related to Aether and what I found next blew up my mind. He...is a God...according to people. I...met a living God? If it were some other time I would have declared them cultists. But now...

It's not the first time he has done that...it wasn't the last time he is going to do something like that, I knew it because I saw him. He can do things that most people would deem impossible. Aether Rodriguez. That was the moment I started worshipping another human.

I planned to start going to classes after my sister's wedding. I made so many different plans at once, but then...

A white light started glowing in front of me. It then grew brighter and brighter and brighter. I covered my eyes by instinct and when I opened them back up, the scenery changed into a white space. Soon I lost my consciousness....before waking up in a forest. Observing the surrounding, it felt oddly familiar. I looked around to recall where have I seen this scenery before.

Then it clicked the memories of Esprestus Mark Zwain in my mind.

That is how I came to this world.
