[TN: thinking about doing something with ko-fi but im hesitant. patreon]
“Before you can go into the dungeon you have to take combat training. Also since you are yet unaware of what might happen in a dungeon you are required to have a teacher accompany you the first time. Once you pass that you’ll be allowed to either enter dungeons solo or as a party.”
Since I finally got a job the day before I asked about raising my level and this was their response.
By the way it seems like the person I talked to was the female staff member from the entrance ceremony, Mrs. Philis? Or something. While she was as close as you could get to being an adult woman, it still looked like someone had dressed her up in a suit. Quite the innocent a beautiful teacher. She’s also the one that brought me my luggage this morning and since I had more questions, I decided to ask.
[TN: 20 is the age of majority in Japan, so there she wouldn’t be an adult yet.]
“But that would be next month right, since classes don’t start until then? Is there anyway for me to dive into a dungeon sooner?”
“You can if you apply for it. Since those students that already got the job they wanted would be trying to find ways to waste time, if you apply any staff member that’s free may provide guidance.”
That’s good news, I got help from Mrs. Philis to complete the application process. After which I was told that there was a teacher free this morning and that I would be allowed to participate immediately. I’m really lucky that everything is proceeding so smoothly.
That’s what I had thought, but I regret it now.
“1 million laps! If you train your level will go up! Just relax and come with me! ”
The person saying such things was instructor Major David from the kings army. In this world, it is not uncommon to be assigned as a temporary instructor for the school as part of military affairs. Major David was assigned as an instructor for the this year.
“No no no, that’s not possible! Be it physically or time wise, it’s impossible.”
“Hahahahaha, there is nothing impossible for humans! If you’re training, your level will come along naturally! Now, let us run together!”
In case you haven’t noticed, Major David is a [Berserker]. Dark skin and bulging biceps, this macho man seems to seriously believe that nothing is better than muscles.
This is bad, this is seriously bad, no matter how you look at it this guys wants to turn me into some kind of muscled freak as well.
Should I run? No, he’s gone out of his way to set time aside for me today so I can’t abandon this. No way, do I seriously have no choice but to do this?
And so, I decided to participate in this hellish training.
I ended up quitting after just 10 laps, the school was much too large to continue running around. And after all of that, my level raised by just one. How could anyone do that kind of training!? I’m going to go raise my level.

The reason behind doing the combat training was to raise my level, although I won’t be doing it anymore.
For instance, in net games you get experience for completing quests and such, but the combat training in [Dun-life] is similar.
If you are a combatant, you don’t necessarily need to defeat monsters in a dungeon in order to raise your level. You can get experience through combat training, if you’re in production making things will have the same effect.
In the game after you acquire a job the game skips forward and your level is automatically raised to 5 amd from there you begin diving into the tutorial dungeon.
After clearing the tutorial dungeon a few times your level would raise to 10, which is the requirement for the next beginner dungeon and in that way the story progresses. By the way, I looked it up, admission to the tutorial dungeon began at level 5. I wasn’t aware of this since in the game you started at that level.
So in other words, combat training is aimed at getting you to level 5, but if you reach level 5 without it then there’s no need to take it. That’s the theory I came up with anyway.
So raising my level without doing combat training and without entering a dungeon. Is there a way to do it? Of course, a quite familiar way in fact.
“So that’s why you called me?”
“That’s right, from here on out its a slimepop marathon!”
“Well, ok…”
I summoned Hannah. Of course the reason behind it is to raise my level through Slimepop. We sold a lot of slime jelly on the way here but during the carriage ride we did it a bit more do it wasn’t a complete waste of time.
You don’t get much experience from a slime but you should be able to at least reach level 5. The larger the level difference the less experience you get, someone who was level 6 probably wouldn’t get anything from doing this but, it should be enough to get me to level 5.
Hannah was confused about being summoned to the aristocratic dorms at first but she soon calmed down. After all it was like magically producing money, she was addicted. And so we went off to collect muddy water.
