Chapter 20: Chapter 20 : A Student

'So she doesn't want to worry me, huh.' 

Mark thought while exiting Eleanor's and Melanie's tent. 

The first thing he did after waking up was to talk with Eleanor. He had indirectly asked about her troubles several times in that conversation. But Eleanor behaved like everything was normal. 

Mark understood she didn't want to trouble him. But he already had an idea about her worries. So he couldn't simply ignore it now, could he? 

'Guess, I'll have to use some underhanded means.' 

Mark thought and decided to make his move the next day. For now, he had to take the first step towards conquering Catherine.

"Cat. Can I come in?" Mark asked while standing in front of a red tent. 

"Brother? Sure, come in."

Hearing the sweet voice of his little sister, Mark entered the tent.

The inside of the tent was spacious, considering only two people lived in it. There was a king-sized bed on Mark's left, and a study table was situated opposite him. 

A petite, black-haired girl, stood beside the study table.

She wore a white cropped top. Which showed her slim and sexy waist. While her black shorts highlighted her long legs.

'Woah! Cat looks sexy as hell in those clothes!'

Since Catherine didn't wear such clothes outside her room, Mark was not used to them, and he had to force himself to stop staring at her petite figure.

Catherine's ruby-like crimson eyes looked at him with curiosity. 

"Leona is not here?" Mark said like it was a question, but he already knew Leona had gone to train.

After all, unlike Catherine, who could study the magic spells inside the tent, Leona had to practice her sword art in open ground. 

"Sis is training," She said while walking towards him. "I can call her if brother has some business." 

"Don't worry about it," Mark waved his hand. "I had business with you, anyway." 

"With me?" 

"Yeah," Mark said. "You know I have not learned any spells yet. Right?" 

Catherine nodded.

Mark had decided to learn [Berserk Wave] and [Perfect Reflection] to become a proper tank, and that's why he had not learned any spells. Instead, he had asked Catherine to learn [Lightning Bolt] and [Enhance Lightning Damage]. Because Quogoas were weak to lightning.

"But now, I want to learn a few spells and I was hoping that you could help me with it." 

Mark's 'Hero' class had opened all of his mana and aura paths. Hence he could also learn spells.

"But brother — " Catherine looked at him with troubled expressions. " — I'm just a beginner. Would I really be of any help?" 

"Trust me. You'll be." 

Mark was not lying. He really wanted to learn a few things from Catherine. But that was not all, he also wanted to get closer to her in the meantime, so that, he could initiate the next phase of his plan to seduce Catherine.

At Mark's words, Catherine nodded. "Sure then. Just tell me what can I do?" But she still looked a little unsure.

"So can we study daily at this time?" 

"Sure brother," Catherine readily agreed. "So what spells do you want to learn?"

For Mark, learning from a teacher was way easier than learning directly from a book. So he didn't want to waste such an opportunity when he had a genius, little sister. 

"Okay, sit here." Catherine sat on the bed and asked him to sit beside her. 

Mark looked at the study table, but there was only a single seat. So he sat on the bed, just opposite Catherine.

Soon, Catherine began to teach him about lightning, and Mark began to take notes in a notebook he had taken out of his inventory. 

Since Mark had memories of earth, he already knew a lot about lightning. Even Catherine was impressed by his knowledge. 

But since she knew he had memories of another timeline, his understanding didn't surprise her that much. 

Though when it came to conjuring the lightning, the tips Catherine gave him proved invaluable. If Mark had practiced without her guidance, he was sure he would have taken a few days to reach the same progress he achieved in two hours. 

"Cat, Mark. Mom is calling for dinner." Suddenly, a blonde beauty entered the tent. 

"Okay, sis. We are coming." Leona left at Mark's reply. 

"I will practice a sword skill after dinner," Mark told Catherine while standing up. 

Catherine nodded and both of them left for dinner. 

After dinner, Mark practiced his sword art with Leona for an hour. Then, he also took some tips about [Sharp Blade] from her.

Hence, it was a must-skill for him, and since Leona had already learned it, he simply asked her to teach him. Which saved a lot of his time and Energy Points. 

After practicing the [Sharp Blade] for two more hours and emptying his Energy Core, he went to sleep.

Others also entered their tents after consuming all of their Aura/Mana Points. 

Once they had taken sufficient rest and their Energy cores were filled to the brim, they left for yet another hunt.
