[Congratulations Hero Mark. You have been successfully awakened.]

Next, another golden screen appeared in front of him.

[Status]

Name: Mark

Class: Hero

Level: H

Energy cores: 0/2000

Energy Points: 200/200

Curse: Lust(10%… 11%… 12%…)

Just like other awakened, his level was also H, and he could simply level up by absorbing 2000 H-level Energy cores. Or 1000 G-level Energy cores and so on.

Though he was sure, compared to him others only needed half Energy cores to advance. But, he still didn't complain, because the more energy cores he needed to advance, the more powerful he would become.

Why?

…Because in this world, there were no separate stats like strength, agility etc. Instead, the 'class' of an awakened had a major role in it.

For example, if a swordmaster leveled up then they would get major boost in aura points and strength. But they would get only minor boost in intelligence.

What if a mage leveled up? Then they would get major boost in intelligence and Mana Points, but they would get comparatively a minor boost in strength and agility.

So what about Hero class? Actually, all seven heroes got the equal boost in every stat. It was because they didn't have any restrictions like others and would need all those stats.

Every awakener had restrictions. For example, if a person awakened a mage class then they would also awaken mana paths.

Now depending upon which mana path they awakened, they would be called fire mage, ice mage etc.

There were also few people who had two types of mana paths, but they were quite rare.

It was the same for warriors. A swordmaster would have different aura paths than a dagger master. Their skills would also depend on their aura paths.

For example, only a dagger master could use aura to activate 'stealth', while others had different skills depending upon their aura paths.

But that was not the case with heroes. Heroes could basically learn all kind of spells and skills… except divine spells. Since no mortal could learn divine spells, anyway.

But otherwise, heroes didn't have any other 'usual' restrictions. Hence all seven heroes got major boost in every stat. Because It was a necessity for heroes to have high stats to learn different types of skills and spells.

His thoughts were interrupted when his body began to resist the purple pillar.

Actually, the golden pillar had not disappeard even after his awakening. Instead, it's color became purple, and kept bathing Mark in purple light.

Mark's body instinctively tried to resist the puprle light, but to no avail. He felt unpleasant, and annoyed.

'This damn curse!!!'

Mark knew he didn't have any method to stop the integration of curse in his body. So he tried to calm down, and then focused on other notifications.

[Ding…]

[Quests have been initiated.]

[Quest 3: Party Leader

Description: Choose 4 party members and bestow a class upon them.

Reward: 10,000 Coins]

Looking at the notifications in front of him, Mark took a sigh of relief… mentally. Since the purple pillar was still bathing him, and he couldn't move even an inch.

'This makes things a little easier.'

Mark had considered that he got quests in the game, because that's how rpg games were supposed to be. Fortunately, that was not the case. Otherwise, things would have become way harder for him and his family.

Mark looked at the reward of third quest.

'10,000 Coins… same as the game. Huh.'

Considering the rewards of all three quests, the coins might look the least important. Which was quite true, since what could compare to immortality or instant level up? But it didn't mean coins weren't important.

Actually, coins could be used to buy "anything" from the system shop.

From divine artifacts to normal day clothes.

From Dragon's egg to normal day food.

Anything and everything could be bought using coins.

It was because, If there were no quests, and consequently no coins as reward. How would a normal hero learn skills and spells?

It was not like holy weapons only chose nobles. Instead, the mortal with high talent for a particular holy weapon was chosen. Hence, the gods gave the 'shop' in the system menu. Which made sure that lack of resources didn't affect the hero's capabilities.

At least, that's what other heroes thought. Mark wasn't sure if that was true, neither did he try to think about it. At that time for him, it was just a game. So he always thought that of course, there would be quests.

'Shop'

Mark muttered inwardly, and a golden screen appeared in front of him.

[Buy/Sell]

He chose 'Buy' option, and many categories showed up. Where he began to find a teleportation scroll.

His requirements were simple, the distance of teleportation must be enough to allow five people to get outside the city.

Such scrolls turned out to be quite expensive. Even if he used all of his coins he would get after completing the third quest, they would still not be enough to buy him even a single teleportation scroll which fit his requirements.

In the game, he had a mage to teleport them, so he didn't know about the cost of teleportation scrolls. Which turned out to be a fatal mistake now, since his whole plan revolved around teleporting out of the city before the king activated the array.

There was a scroll which would allow to escape a single person, but Mark couldn't go himself. He was sure that bastard king would use his family to blackmail him, hence it was big no.

Mark became desperate, and instead of teleportation scroll he began to search for any item which met his requirements.

He was still searching, when the purple pillar finally vanished, and Mark regained his freedom.

[Curse: Lust]

Since the process had finished. There was no number or percentage in front of 'Lust' now.

'Fuck!! This is the worst feeling.'

Mark was horny, but it didn't feel like usual. When he could simply masturbate, and everything would be fine.

No!

He felt exactly like when he had to stop fucking a nurse at the last second, because the doctor had come.

That was the worst feeling. Mark hated it. But he shook his head and decided to ignore the curse for now.

There were far more important things to concentrate on right now. Like, escaping with his family before the king activates the array.

Looking at the time artifact in his wrist, Mark cursed and hurriedly went downstairs.
