Chapter 1: Prologue – The Agency

"Hnnggnh..." I groan, as I gain consciousness and open my eyes, unsure of where I was.

I notice that I am lying down, so I lean on my elbow while using the other hand to push myself up.

"OW OW OW!"

A sharp, radiating pain instantly assaults my forehead. ARGHH! IT HURTSSSS! My consciousness slips in and out, tears forming in my eyes as I lay there, holding my head, trying to soothe the sudden headache. Some time passes, and the pain becomes manageable.

Seriously... what happened? I take a look at my surroundings, panning my head from left to right.

A vast land of well... NOTHING! All around me is just pure white. What is this place? What happened? Many questions flow through my mind, without a recipient to answer any of them.

"Is this heaven?" I wonder aloud.

"No," a deep, husky voice answers.

"Eh? Then where else could this be?" I ask worriedly.

A man emerges from the white surroundings.

His black hair is slicked back, his outfit that of a typical office worker. Black suit and pants, a white undershirt, a navy blue and yellow striped tie hanging from his neck that scream NORMIE!!

"My, how rude." He remarks as he walks up close to me, before stretching out his index finger and lightly tapping my forehead.

The mental 'block' that I felt, as well as what was left of the pain in my head instantly vanishes as if it were never there. Like a dam that had broken, my memories flood back into my head.
