Chapter 8: Episode 7 – Getting to know the fief

It has been a year since I explained the situation to my father.

There have been many times that I have shed sweat and tears, but these memories are full of happy moments.

The instructions are not over yet, they are just beginning, in fact.

What has changed are the subjects I am studying.

Now that I've managed to start developing a good physique and stamina with the training, I'm training the basics of several different martial arts, such as unarmed combat, the basics of sword art, the basics of how to use the bow, and the use of magic during combat.

As a form of learning, today my father brought me to one of his fiefdom inspection visits. According to him, many are the nobles that don't make these visits, it may seem silly, but this is a way to see the fruits of their labor, such as finding out if corruption is occurring in their projects.

This visit is something good for me, it's a way to really get to know what I only see through books or conversations with instructors.

The fief, despite being large in space and terrain at the same time, is small because it is a border with two different kingdoms and an unexplored forest infested with monsters.

Because of this, besides a fort, where most of the fief's population lives, there are two cities of a reasonable size and several villages scattered throughout the fief.

Because it is a frontier, those who live here are somewhat different from those in the capital of the kingdom and in other fiefs.

The population is varied; it is made up of adventurers, mercenaries, farmers, merchants, craftsmen, but they have several things in common.

Those who are here because of the lifestyle cherish three things: strength, loyalty and a brave spirit.

While they have an aversion to foreigners, they accept with open arms those who are willing to live here and possess any of these 3 characteristics.

"Most of those who live here may seem scary, hard to deal with, but they are good people, to them you are also a scary and hard to deal with creature.
