Chapter 9: Episode 8 – Gearwheel

When we got home, I decided to talk to my father about it.

One of the bandits began to approach me, while I tried to keep my expression from showing a look of disgust.

When he was close enough to me, I snatched his sword and struck him in the chest.

The guards who were hiding used this as a signal and started to attack.

While my hands were shaking from feeling the sword cutting the flesh of a living person, I almost felt like vomiting.

As I spoke this a firm hand rubbed my head.

My father, he did just that, but that was what eased my heart.

The mission was a success, we managed to save the people that were kidnapped. From the looks of it they just started kidnapping, after two more people were kidnapped they were going to sell them as slaves.

After receiving the thanks of those who were kidnapped, we went to solve some more hiding places. Unfortunately we were not able to save all of the kidnapped people.

But that doesn't mean that we will let this keep happening.

After all these confusions, I am calmer and more determined. The trip continued without any problems.
