Chapter Forty Eight- Arriving At Greensburry
The entire family estate was in chaos, their Young Master James had run away, however, even more than that, he had left a note explaining why he had left.
The contents of his letter stated: Claire, Clara, Kate, mother and everyone else, If you are reading this then I have already left, I didn’t say goodbye to anymore, as it would have affected my determination to leave. I can’t explain too well why I have left, however, trust me, I will be back, how long it will take? I do not know, I just wanted to let you guys know that I have left on my own accord and to ask you not to follow me. And Kate, I’m sorry for being such a bad brother, I broke my promise again… Goodbye for now, I hope you grow up to be a kind girl, and Claire and Clara, don’t miss me too much. Mother, I’m sorry for being such a disobedient child, goodbye. James-
Everyone had been brought to tears, however, the ones crying most were Claire and Clara, just who was James? He was the one they loved with all their heart, they had known each other since childhood. This action of his strung hard in their hearts like a Rockstar violently stringing his guitar. This melody they were in had now been turned into a rock concert.
“Claire, what do we do?” red-eyed Clara’s mind was filled with many bad thoughts, worry, some anger, but most importantly, loneliness. She could only ask her big sister for guidance, even if that big sister was crying on her shoulder as well.
“I... I don’t know.” they continued to cry, however, the door to their room opened, and it was Kate. There were red marks stained under her eyes, just how had she cried for such a thing to happen? How heartless was this brother of hers?
Claire and Clara couldn’t hold back and ran towards her and hugged her.
They always tried to be strong in front of their little sister, however, all they could do was weep on her shoulders.
Surprisingly, Kate rubbed their backs. “You guys don’t have to cry so much.” She said. Just how old was she? She had barely just turned ten! Yet she had a faint smile on her face. How mature!
“Big brother must have been pained to leave too, yet he still did. Why? He must have had a good reason, and an even better one not to tell us, let’s just believe in him, all right?” Claire and Clara were stunned, they had already realized this, yet they still couldn’t admit it. However, with their small and innocent little sister saying such things, how could they not dare to accept this truth? They brushed their eyes and smiled back at kate.
“All right, I guess we have no choice but to wait for him to return, what do you say? How about we go and play outside?” after accepting this hard fact, Claire and Clara felt a burden on their hearts dissipate, James had said that he would come back, had he ever lied to them about stuff so serious? No, he always kept his promise even if it was the last thing he did.
After nodding the three girls laughed a little before going outside to play.

How long have I been walking? A full month has passed since I left the family estate, I’m running low on money, and my clothes are starting to smell, I better stop at this next town and get a place to stay for the night.

James had been walking with almost no rest for a full month, why had he not bothered to get a carriage? To save money, although he had brought some of his savings, he didn’t have a lot, he had run out of water and snacks long ago and had been buying stuff to live this past month.
“Welcome To Greensburry: 600 miles away from Selrone kingdom capital”
“600 miles???” what the hell? I knew I had gone far, but to be six hundred miles away from the capital? I’m on the border or the kingdom! I’m as far east as I could possibly go. Guess I won’t be meeting anybody I know here…
Well I might as well hurry and get a room, the town isn’t that big, so there should be some free spaces left in some Inn
“Excuse me, ma’am, where is the best Inn in the town?” I asked one woman walking her dog. “Oh young boy, are you passing by? Well If I had to say, then it would probably be Betty’s Shack. After I thanked the lady, I walked with the directions she had given me.
Through some dodgy ally’s over a couple of bridges, Just how far away was this place, was it seriously the best Inn in the town? After a while, I asked a few more people before finally arriving at the Inn, the sky was already shining with stars, it had taken me very long to find it, and. Well, just what kind of joke is this? The place from the outside looked run down. Only some lights were on.
I sighed, the woman must have conned me, however, I can’t be bothered searching for another place, plus this will help me save some money.
I walked into the sounds of bustling voices of all ages, music playing, and drinks being handed out by the second.
Wasn’t this place supposed to be run down?
People of many unique statuses were here. I could see scholars, adventurers, old men, and women, just how lively was this place?
However this atmosphere calmed my heart, it felt warm.
All this travel had been making me strained, I’ve had no proper rest.
I might stay here for a couple of nights.
I sat down at the bar and ordered a pint of beer. Casually enjoying the music and crowd.
“James?” a girl’s voice rang out.
What? Did someone just call my name? I turned around and my mouth dropped.
“James! It really is you!”
