Dao laws are basic principles and laws of the universe. Dao laws, unlike Dao, are not unique to everyone as these govern the attributes and qualities of everything that exists in the universe. For example, the law of fire consists of all properties of flames like heat, combustion etc. These properties that combine to create a complete dao law are known as concepts. One has to comprehend multiple concepts to master a complete law.

Most elemental techniques are based on a concept of that specific element. The sword art that Jianyu used also contained one such concept, the concept of fluidity from the law of water to be specific. Using this technique, Jianyu's sword qi acts like a fluid and finds the path that's the easiest to flow through. Thus, easily destroying the target with the least of effort.

But, that wasn't the reason Elder Wang was surprised. Elder Wang was surprised because Jianyu had applied his own comprehension of the concept of fluidity in his sword arts. In other words, a youngling who had just broken through to the foundation establishment realm had comprehended a concept, something that even heaven defying geniuses can only do at nascent soul realm.

‌Seeing such an impossible scene unfolding in front of his own eyes, Elder Wang was baffled. He wanted to ask his senior brother about this matter, but all he could do was stare at the remains of the rock.

"Hahahaha!!"

He could hear his senior brother's mocking laughter, but that didn't matter.

Senior brother can I-

No.

Even before he could ask, his senior brother rejected his suggestion.

B-but as a sword cultivator myself, shouldn't you let me take him as a disciple?

My answer is the same as before.

...Fine.

Elder Wang sighed, giving up, and looked towards Jianyu.

"That was a truly exquisite display of sword arts, junior Jianyu."

"Haha, you flatter me, Elder Wang." Jianyu laughed awkwardly.

Saying this, Jianyu directed his gaze toward his grandfather, who had stopped laughing at this point. In response to his glare, Xin Dongyang simply looked away.

"Ahem, how about we go inside and discuss what Elder Wang wants to ask you."

To this Elder Wang looked toward grandfather, who lightly nodded in response.

-----------------------

"So, what is it that you want to ask, Elder Wang?" Jianyu asked elder Wang, feeling a bit anxious as both grandfather and Elder Wang had solemn expressions on their faces.

" I will go straight to the point." Elder Wang paused for a bit, looked at Jianyu with determination and then continued.

"Junior Jianyu, I wish to take you as my disciple."

"Disciple?" Jianyu stiffened a bit as he asked .

"Yes, as someone who has dedicated his life to the path of the sword I wish to nurture someone with great talent such as you as my disciple."

"Umm... unfortunately, I have to decline your offer."

"Is that so... Can you tell me the reason?" Elder Wang asked with a disheartened expression. In response, Jianyu had a determined expression on his face .

"I... just began my cultivation path a few years ago. I wish to find my own path rather than following an already existing one and to do that I cannot be your disciple."

"Mhm that's fine. Finding your own path is most important as a cultivator." Elder Wang nodded with a gentle smile.

"Anyways, there would be no problem with your admission to the sect, you can ask your grandfather about the details later."

"Alright." Jianyu nodded in affirmation.

"Well then, I'll take my leave for today." Elder Wang stood up as he decided to leave.

"Well then, take care." Grandfather nodded at Elder Wang.

"You as well, senior brother." Saying this elder Wang left along with the person who accompanied him.

--------------------------

After Elder Wang had left, i looked at grandfather.

"So, tell me about the details of my entrance to the sect."

'wasn't it just supposed to be an early admission?'

"Well it's pretty simple, you wwill simply skip the basic tests such as spiritual roots evaluation, qi purity test and the rest."

"So which test do i have to participate in?"

Hearing this grandfather gave me a toothy grin.

"The final evaluation test, sparring to determine the ranks of disciples."

"Wouldn't this be unfair for those who started later than others?" A frown appeared on my face as i thought about final evaluation.

"Those who show potential and possess talent are taken by the sect elders as disciples. As for those who aren't as exceptional, they can choose to spar with others to prove themselves. Of course most of the young geniuses choose to compete in battles to prove themselves."

' it's better than I thought, I guess.'

"So, I just have to participate in the sparring matches and that's it?"

"Yup, simple isn't it?"

"Mhm" I nodded.

'I honestly thought it would be a troublesome process, but this pretty convenient.'

"Well, you should prepare well for this exam since it's a place, since geniuses from the whole Realm would gather to enter the sect." Grandfather said with a smile on his face .

"Alright!" I answered feeling a bit fired up.

'But a teacher huh...'

Memories of the distant past flowed in my mind as I recalled the person, I once regarded as my 'teacher'.

Someone, I regarded as my family in a world where one would backstab their own kin for minimal gains.

"This is for your own good my disciple my disciple."

'Urgh...'

I looked towards the sky and thought.

'It's a blessing in disguise that the memories of past are clouded otherwise...'

"Haahh..." I let out a sigh as I rid my mind of all the pointless thoughts.
