Rejected the Demon’s Marriage Proposal Thousands of Times Chapter 31.1
I Can Save Him (1)
The long silver hair of the Holy Son was cold, with a silky touch. Lifting up the long hair, the hair slipped from the gap between the fingers and fell to the bed, like a long silver river shining with stars.
Originally, Anna just wanted to casually perfunct the demon and coax him, but she didn't expect the long hair of the Holy Son to be so fascinating to the touch.
She reluctantly let go of his long silver hair and smiled embarrassedly: "Thank you, esteemed Holy Son."
Rothgarr noted Anna's reaction, and was more certain of his choice to possess the Holy Son.
Maybe he wouldn’t even need three days to achieve his goal.
At this moment, Rothgarr wasn’t as dizzy anymore looking at something. He remembered that he told Anna yesterday that he would continue to teach her to read. In order to shorten the time required to achieve his goal, he didn’t mind the trouble.
He looked at Anna who was about to start cleaning up the room and said: "Come here, I will teach you literacy."
Anna was taken aback and looked at him in surprise: "Esteemed Holy Son, don't you need to rest more?"
"No."
Anna saw that the demon was looking at her coldly, and had no intention of discussing with her, so she reluctantly followed the demon's instructions and took out the small table to place on the bed, paper, quill and ink.
Because there was no book on hand, Rothgarr thought he would just write it out by hand to teach Anna.
But before he started writing, he paused. What should he write?
Anna grabbed a stool and sat on the bedside looking at the demon. He really didn't have any intention of concealing himself, and even without asking her opinion, he was self consumed with getting ready to teach.
Before, the demon would throw a book at her and practically let her teach herself; she didn't know what tricks he was going to play today.
Anna saw the demon thinking for a while before starting to write, and after reading a line, she couldn't help sighing; he was really perfunctory! He didn’t even know to change his handwriting a bit; it was exactly the same as when he was still possessing Ulysses.
She pretended that she couldn't tell at all, and focused on what the demon had written.
...It was all words that she didn’t know.
Anna looked carefully for a while, and suddenly discovered the three characters that she had forgotten long ago, the extra three characters that Ulysses, who was possessed by the demon, had written when he taught her the basic characters.
When the demon taught her in the past, except for the basic characters and the three extra characters that were handwritten by him, he taught her with ready-made books, and those ready-made books definitely did not come from the demon, so those three characters did not appear in them.
Since the demon didn't mention it, Anna deliberately pretended that she hadn't noticed that all of the words were missing those three characters.
But right now, each word handwritten by the demon contained at least one of those three characters.
Rothgarr pointed to the first word and read it aloud.
Anna listened to the long pronunciation that did not match the length of the word, and then repeated after him, but because of the rugged pronunciation, she stumbled on the word.
Rothgarr looked a little annoyed, but he thought about the recent progress he had made. Not wanting to destroy it, he could only repeat it once more.
This time, Anna read it successfully.
Seeing that the demon was planning to read the second word, Anna asked him hurriedly: "Esteemed Holy Son, what does this mean?"
Rothgarr paused and said: "One way to kill a phoenix is
to attack the junction of the second right rib near its sternum. That will make it fall apart on the spot, but after that, all bones must be burned immediately, otherwise it will come back to life."
Anna was full of questions. She had asked the meaning of a word, why did the demon say such a long paragraph? And, what was a phoenix? Was it some kind of beast?
"This word means...phoenix?" Anna asked when she saw that the demon didn't seem to be too impatient at the moment.
As a result, as soon as she finished the question, the demon's face grew impatient. He frowned and said, "What I just said is the meaning of this word."
Anna was shocked. How can one word mean an entire paragraph? The demon must save a lot of paper when writing!
"How amazing…….." She sighed.
Rothgarr took this as Anna complimenting him. He relaxed his brows a bit, pointed to the next word and read the long pronunciation. Then, he explained: "Facing a skeleton army, using a specific voice can make them fall apart in an instant."
Anna thought, this was probably the language of the demon, and this demon was probably a practical man. The words he wrote down were all ways to deal with specific demonic creatures.
She felt as if she was an uneducated chicken listening to a college teacher talk about calculus.
Though she was actually literate... But what was the difference between the demon throwing these words around and teaching her how to defeat demonic beasts? Who knew if these creatures belonged to the Demon Realm. The Human Realm also had demonic beasts. Ulysses was injured by fighting against them, but she had never heard of such monsters as phoenix.
So, if she had never even seen the demonic creatures of the Human Realm, then what was the use of knowing how to defeat the beasts of the Demon Realm?
