Bo Xiyun called out to stop the other party, taking the chance to run and catch up with him when he looked back.
“Let me go with you.”
He knew what Yi Zhongshen’s words meant earlier.
Yi Zhongshen wanted to drive the car over, to let him avoid walking to the parking lot in this biting cold.
In their short interaction, Bo Xiyun had become aware of some special habits of Yi Zhongshen.
From the time they had arrived, Yi Zhongshen had rejected the approach of the unfamiliar usher. When entering the mansion, he held the umbrella himself, and now that they were leaving, the usher wanted to help drive the car over but was rejected by Yi Zhongshen.
Young Master Yi might have some obsession with cleanliness, or it might be due to other reasons, but Bo Xiyun felt it wasn’t something he should comment on.
Just then, Bo Xiyun felt it was not too good to let Young Master Yi collect the car alone.
It looked like he was treating the other party as a chauffeur.
Although he reminded himself time and again to maintain a distance, he had received too much help tonight and Bo Xiyun didn’t want Yi Zhongshen to feel snubbed.
The cold wind blew and very soon, Bo Xiyun’s slender body was cold to the core, but he didn’t stop walking.
After watching him for a while, Yi Zhongshen didn’t insist and allowed Bo Xiyun to catch up with him.
“No need to be so formal.” Yi Zhongshen turned outside and said, “Just call me senior.”
Senior?
Bo Xiyun paused but before he managed to reply, he heard Yi Zhongshen’s mobile ring.
Yi Zhongshen swept a glance at the display and connected the call.
At the same time, he seemed to have guessed Bo Xiyun’s next move and raised his hand to indicate that Bo Xiyun didn’t have to give him privacy.
Unsure if it was his own imagination, he felt this senior move backward a step in advance and start to walk a step behind him.
So even if Bo Xiyun wanted to avoid hearing his conversation, there was no way to do so. He could only walk to the parking lot calmly in front of him.
Yi Zhongshen answered the call and spoke in his usual short, clipped words. Due to the wind, the voice that was on the phone was muffled and Bo Xiyun could only hear a few words here and there, brought by the wind.
“Rumours……deal with……”
Bo Xiyun could hear a few faint words, and he thought he heard Bai Song’s name.
Yi Zhongshen frowned. After disconnecting the call, he suddenly stopped and called Bo Xiyun.
“One moment.”
Instead of leaving, Yi Zhongshen now turned back with Bo Xiyun, and walked towards the greenhouse. Next to it, there was a lounge that was specially prepared for guests.
“I have something to do, wait here for a while.”
After bringing Bo Xiyun into the warm lounge, Yi Zhongshen lowered his eyes and used his fingertips to send a few messages before he spoke.
“Gu Sheng will be here very quickly, we will leave together.”
Bo Xiyun didn’t have any opinions as he was not in a rush.
He sat on the sofa, closing his legs together as per his usual habit, resting his fingers on his knees, and looked towards Yi Zhongshen. He nodded his head obediently. “OK.”
Yi Zhongshen was about to leave but looking at the youngster’s obedient manner, paused in his footsteps.
Bo Xiyun noticed this and asked curiously. “Is anything the matter?”
The young man was half a head taller than him. At that moment with one standing and one seated, Yi Zhongshen’s perspective was a lot higher. When he glanced over, it was from a higher angle, obviously looking down.
The silence deepened in the lounge.
Bo Xiyun was feeling more and more puzzled.
When he was confused, his normally large eyes looked even rounder, and in the warmth of the lounge, his exceedingly pale skin had now reddened slightly.
So obedient that he was inviting others to stretch out their hands to touch him.
Yi Zhongshen lowered his eyes and gazed at Bo Xiyun deeply, but he didn’t say anything before he closed the door and left.
Bo Xiyun, “......?”
He looked down and checked his attire repeatedly but there wasn’t anything amiss with him.
In the end, he decided that perhaps Yi Zhongshen was in a bad mood as he now had to deal with the rumors.
Bo Xiyun didn’t wait long when the door to the lounge was pushed open. Second Young Master Gu, who had previously appeared in the mansion, walked in.
He spoke in a clear and gentle voice, the same as the one he heard in the car. “Is this Xiyun? I am Gu Sheng.”
Bo Xiyun remembered this voice, and stood up saying, “Hello.”
“There’s no need to be so polite.”
Gu Sheng smiled, he looked like a typical handsome man from the northern parts, with good bone structure and a high nose bridge. Bo Xiyun already had a good impression of him when he heard his voice earlier. Now looking at the man himself with a smiling face, it was easy to feel a sense of closeness to him.
It was comfortable to hear Gu Sheng talk. “I have heard Old Gao praise you so many times, and today, I've finally met you.”
Gu Sheng explained when he saw Bo Xiyun’s perplexed face. “I used to live in Q City when I was young, and your grade’s Head Teacher Gao was my neighbor.”
He smiled, “Old Gao must be so happy to have another direct admission into the top two universities this year.”
After some small talk, Gu Sheng looked around and asked, “Young Master Yi went out?”
Bo Xiyun nodded, “He went out after receiving a call.”
“Oh right, it must be to take care of the incident in the afternoon.” Gu Sheng had also heard about the letter incident in school.
Bo Xiyun hesitated but still spoke in the end. “Young Master Yi’s mood didn’t seem too good?”
“Is that so?”
Gu Sheng thought about it.
“Perhaps he doesn’t like such a thing.”
“Young Master Yi doesn’t like to have close relationships with others. If gossip has tied him to another person, he will be annoyed.”
There’s no way out, his character was just like this, a little rigid and unable to communicate well.
Of course, he didn’t say the last complaint out loud.
Gu Sheng had a very good impression of this pretty and capable junior and took the initiative to comfort him. “Don’t worry, he wasn’t unhappy with you.”
Bo Xiyun pursed his pale lips and nodded.
He had also discovered something, Yi Zhongshen didn’t vent his anger on Bo Xiyun even though this misunderstanding with the letter was also a relationship scandal.
Bo Xiyun relaxed some of his tightly held emotions.
Maybe that malicious rumor that he was infatuated with Young Master Yi might receive the same treatment.
He should be able to lower the risk to himself if he could maintain a safe distance between himself and Young Master Yi.
They didn’t chat for long until Yi Zhongshen returned.
Yi Zhongshen was not in a hurry to leave. He stretched out his hand towards Bo Xiyun, “Documents.”
The young man’s palm was slender but strong, projecting a sense of security. Bo Xiyun held out the documents, Yi Zhongshen took them and directly used his mobile to scan the documents, uploading them immediately.
This was a national competition and it had stringent requirements for proof of identity, thus the procedure was quite cumbersome.
Bo Xiyun had written down just the identity number alone countless times, not to mention all the other numerous steps which were quite tiring.
Throughout this procedure, Yi Zhongshen directed and helped and didn’t show any signs of impatience.
Bo Xiyun inadvertently felt very thankful.
Tonight, Young Master Yi definitely helped him a lot.
He remembered something that Gu Sheng just mentioned–Yi Zhongshen didn’t like to have close relationships with others.
Bo Xiyun wanted to maintain a polite distance from Yi Zhongshen. One, was to show his own attitude, and two, was to not let him feel uncomfortable.
Therefore, when all the documents had been uploaded, Bo Xiyun took the initiative to thank Yi Zhongshen sincerely.
“Thank you, Senior Yi.”
He took the opportunity to change his address to what the other party preferred and included his surname so as to not be out of bounds and look impolite.
Hearing that, Yi Zhongshen lowered his eyes, looking at Bo Xiyun with dark eyes, but didn’t speak.
The young man showed no expression, as usual, thus no one could tell if he was satisfied or not.
In the end, as Yi Zhongshen didn’t reject, Bo Xiyun decided to address him like this in the future with peace of mind.
“First High School also needs to do some verification and confirmation?” Gu Sheng interrupted to ask.
He stood at one side and didn’t notice what had transpired between them, but was concentrating on the progress on the mobile phone’s screen.
“Call the school and ask?”
Bo Xiyun was about to nod his head when at that moment, a mobile phone rang.
This time, it was Bo Xiyun’s mobile phone.
Bo Xiyun had been using Yi Zhongshen’s mobile to fill in his particulars and his own mobile was on the glass table. Gu Sheng stood nearer to the table and conveniently handed the mobile over.
“Thank you, senior.”
Bo Xiyun took the mobile and headed to one side to answer.
The call was conveniently from the school, asking about progress. Bo Xiyun took the chance to ask the teacher for help in finishing the verification process using the school’s account.
“Wait a minute, let me go somewhere with a better reception.”
The lounge’s internet connection was not too good, Bo Xiyun indicated to the other two as he pushed open the door and stood next to the router in the outer room, continuing his call.
After he left, the lounge descended into silence.
Gu Sheng randomly leaned back against the table. He turned his head, stretching his shoulders and neck, and asked casually. “Zhongshen, how did you deal with that matter just now?”
Gu Sheng already had a good impression of Bo Xiyun because of Head Teacher Gao. After meeting each other today, they hit it off instantly.
He liked this junior.
When Yi Zhongshen came back, he intended to persuade Yi Zhongshen to look at Bo Xiyun with different eyes and not be affected by how he felt about the Bai family.
This big shot was always too fierce and too cold, better not let him scare the kid.
Gu Sheng had not even managed to start his persuasion when he felt Yi Zhongshen turn to look at him. He immediately felt something was amiss.
“What, what is it?”
Gu Sheng suddenly felt the hairs on the back of his spine stand up.
Because the young man in front of him was staring at him darkly, his usual handsome indifferent face now had an expression that was not friendly.
When Yi Zhongshen finally spoke, his tone was gloomy and cold.
“Why is it when he addresses you as senior, he does not add your surname?”
