Chapter 34: Chapter 34 – To the Palace (Intermission 2, I)

Once I was warm enough, I felt I had enough energy to make a quick visit to what was left of the Drake’s corpse. The explosion after its death had surely done a number on the ground. A small crater was now dug into the ground, and chunks of flesh and shattered bones had been flung everywhere. Not sure what’s going to be left to loot. As I neared, the creatures’ scales glimmered in the snow like glitter. Normal weapons had been useless against them, with Edmund’s special sword being the only weapon to penetrate them.

“Hey! What are you doing there?” Edmund asked. He had noticed me when I had made my move toward the corpse and was most likely curious why I was approaching it. “You do realize we’re about to leave now.”

“Hang on… Let me take a closer look. It won’t take long.” I replied, I really wanted to see what loot this thing was packing. I doubted these guys knew anything about loot, judging from the confused look on his face.

“More like looting the corpse's valuables,” Edmund replied with a grin. The man was smart and most likely the smartest man here, he didn’t exactly give me room to fool around. “I doubt you’re going to find anything useful after that explosion.”

“Wait till you see this.” I grinned before activating the loot command.
