The others went to their rooms, but before I even arrived at my door, my stomach began to rumble and cramp up. I stared at Dunal before he gave me a questioning look, “Hey… I need to take a shit.” I explained while holding my stomach like a pregnant woman. It was beginning to hurt a lot.

Dunal sighed, “If you would follow me, I will take you to the lavatory.”

He led me to the service room, now full of life, where a reasonably sized crew was hard at work preparing for this so-called feast. I received a few funny looks as they knew I shouldn’t be there, before Dunal politely asked them to get back to work and to stop wasting time. After navigating past the commotion, we came to the portion of the palace only used by the staff, where a small exit led out.

Once outside, I noticed a few workers taking time out to smoke a questionable substance from a long pipe. Dunal looked pretty pissed off and exchanged a few words of disapproval before pointing out a small cabin resembling a Porta-potty.

“Now, if you don’t mind, please excrete in haste. I have much work to do.” Dunal scoffed. He turned his attention to the workers still smoking and began a lecture on the dangers of whatever these people were smoking.

I couldn’t care less as I made a run for the lavatory, quickly unequipped my armour and sat on the wooden bench, ensuring to align my butt before erupting like a volcano. Ever since I started drinking those potions, I noticed the stomach cramps began to get worse, not to mention the colour of what I was excreting. Since the battle with the goblins, this had only gotten worse. Was this something to do with the Arcane Fever? It felt like my body was rejecting the magic. After finishing, I wiped myself with the hay, and my curious mind decided to observe the colour of the poo. As I thought, it was a mixture of red and blue. No doubt there would have been a tinge of green in there if I had drunk a stamina potion. I really should talk to Lanakis about this.

It was annoying, but not wanting to stare at it any longer, I made a swift exit outside. Dunal was still there and had finished scolding the workers, who were now nowhere to be seen. He gave me a questioning look and coughed. Oops! In my haste, I had forgotten to reequip my armour.

“Sorry about that.” I scoffed before quickly equipping it.

“That took you longer than it should have. Come now,” Dunal scoffed before leading me back, “I will ask one of the maids to prepare a warm bath. You don’t want to go to a feast smelling like that… there will be many ladies present. You should also wear something decent; armour is not the proper attire for a feast.”

“I don’t have anything nice to wear, and I doubt the others do either.” I shrugged, as It would have been nice to have decent clothes for the event.

“I will have the household tailor come see you with a variety of attire. Meanwhile, get yourself cleaned up.” He finished before we finally arrived back at my room.

“Thanks, Dunal, I appreciate that. I’ll see you later.” I waved him goodbye and entered the room. The man had been very helpful so far, and his attitude towards the party had been beyond belief, a true professional in my eyes.

I noticed my tunics had been replaced with fresh ones, so I decided to wear one, sit near a small stool near the fire, and wait for the maids to come by. I glanced through the slit in the window to see what the weather was like. Thankfully, it had calmed down, with a few rays of sunshine piercing through. My thoughts were disrupted by a knock on the door.

“Ali… I have come to prepare a warm bath as instructed by Master Dunal.” Ismanna called out.

“Alright, come in,” I replied, twisting my head to face the door. It swung open, and a few maids entered with their buckets and got to work filling the tub. Once they were done, I waited for them to leave and submerged myself in the soapy water. The cramps in my stomach were still there, but the relaxing water seemed to numb it for now.

As I just lay there, I wondered what Sparky was up to and why he left like he did. It almost seemed like something was going on with him, but we were so preoccupied with the whole Drake situation and meeting the prince that I completely forgot to even ask him if everything was alright. I pulled up the party screen to see if he was alright.

What? It looked like Sparky levelled up… he must have run into some trouble back at the oasis. It could have been those traitorous wolves came back, or it could be something far worse. I really should get there and see what on earth is going on, but it would be rude of me to leave out of the blue like that, and this Edmund guy seemed really intimidating when he was angry. Just hold on a little while longer, buddy.

Annoyed, I jumped out of the tub and wiped myself down before putting another fresh tunic on. That was when another knock came at the door. “What is it?” I asked.

“Ali… the tailor is here to see you,” Ismanna called out again.

“Just come in… I’m done,” I replied before she entered with a man and another maid with a clothing rack filled to the brim with high-quality outfits. I didn’t even get a chance to utter a word before they began measuring me with a piece of string with many lines dotted along it at regular intervals. They produced three fine outfits from the rack and placed them in front of me.

The quality of the clothing was exceptional. Even better than what some of the nobles wore during that awful lecture, the fabric used in their creation was even better than the top-quality of designer brands on earth. Not being a fussy person, I decided to just go with the one l liked the most. It was darker in colour, almost black, but had a plethora of golden embroidery from top to bottom. The pants also matched this design. “That one!” I pointed at it before the men motioned for me to put it on.

I used the system to equip it before the men gave me another questioning look as the outfit moulded to my body and perfectly fit, thanks to some system magic. They didn’t question it and ended up just nodding before passing me a pair of smart knee-high shoes. I did the same with those before Ismanna smiled at me from the seat near the fire, where she gawked at my handsome looks. I gave her a little wink before she went as red as a rose.

You Gained [Royal Fine Riding Boots]

Ismanna cleared her throat and said, “Ali… you might give the prince a run for his money with that outfit.” Before giving me a cheeky grin.

“I thought this was supposed to be a feast, your guys here brought me clothes fit for a ball.” I shrugged before moving towards her, “Come on… get up. Let me practice a few dance moves… just in case.”

She looked rather taken aback with that one and just got up, “Maids don’t usually dance with the nobles. Master Dunal might scold me later if he sees it.”

“Don’t worry about that… It’s like I said, I’m not a noble, nor do I have a title. So come on.” I motioned for her to take my hand before I gave her a little tutorial on how to ball dance. She looked slightly embarrassed but seemed a quick learner of what I was teaching her. “This is how we dance where I’m from.”

“You are a strange man, indeed.” She laughed, “there is talk between the other staff that you were the one leading the party that retook the Krossa Mine.”

“I can’t take all the credit… It wouldn’t have been possible without the others.” I would have been dead if it weren’t for the others.

Another knock crashed into the door before Dunal spoke from the other side, “It’s time for the feast to begin. If you may, come out into the corridor, I will take you back to the Royal Chamber.”

Ismanna stopped in her tracks and made way for the door before glancing back at me with a smile, “I’ll see you later.” Before bumping into Dunal on her way back to the service room.

As usual, I waited with Dunal for the others to come out. I got a few funny looks from the others when they came to join us. Even Lanakis had been outfitted with a decent-looking smart outfit. To be honest, the smart look kind of fit his intellectual attitude. Well, when he hadn’t consumed excessive amounts of alcohol. Once we were all there, Dunal motioned for us to follow him and led the way to the Royal Chamber.
