Chapter 3: First Fight: Virus contamination 2%>10%

We decided to spend the night in the cave... My newly changed body took some getting used to... especially when it came to bathroom issues.

We had a system. Nobody went alone. I was the exception. The kids were asleep, so I left the cave... I had just finished when the tree next to me digitized. Standing on the other side was a green creature with a club. DATA flowed into my head from the device in my hand.

[GOBURIMON: Rookie level. Special skill: Goblin Raid, Goblin Strike. Extremely aggressive, these Goblin digimon live in villages ruled by Ogremon, Fugamon, And Hyogamon. Watch out for its goblin Strike!]

"ME EAT YOU! [GOBLIN STRIKE!]" It swung its club at me, and I barely dodged it... i started to head back to the cave, before i though about it. I cant lead this thing to the kids. Only one option then... I had to fight. 

"Alright, tell me what you can do, Digivice!" 

Information flowed into my head. I grabbed a fallen branch.

Goburimon ran into the clearing I'd stopped in, club raised high.

"YOU NO MORE RUN! [GOBLIN RAID!]" a Series of fireballs appeared around its club, and shot toward me. I avoided them, barely... 

"Alright, Greenie, let's do this thing!" I raised my branch on the same way it held its club. "OKAY. [DEVIL STRIKE!]" Strange energy flowed into the branch... and I hit goburimon square on the head... it froze... then digitized, its data being absorbed into my hand, an egg appearing before vanishing.

"Huh... I won." Information streamed into my head again.

[GOBURIMON/GOBLIMON Data drain 10%. Executing D-Vice expansion.] I felt a sharp pain... and saw black plates extenr around my index and ring finger. I now had three claws. The branch digitized, then reformatted into a club, much like Goburimons. Then I heard the screaming. "The KIDS!" I hurried back to the cave, to see the kids Digimon fighting against a swarm of Goburimon... at the back of the swarm was a larger digimon, it had spikes one its Club, and better armor.

[GOBURIMON ALPHA: ROOKIE LEVEL. WARNING! ALPHA DIGIMON ARE STRONGER THAN NORMAL. ESTIMATED STRENGTH LEVEL: CHAMPION.]

"WHAT ARE YOU WAOTING FOR, FELLAS! CAPTURE THOSE HUMANS! GENERAL OGREMON WILL REWARD US WELL!"

I snuck up behind the Larger one, Which seemed smarter as well... and used the strongest move I had. Info flowed into my brain again.

[TOUCH OF EVIL: Devimons signature skill, devours data and can even control other digimon. Upon being exposed, Host subject absorbed some of Devimons Digicules. A champion level attack.]

"Capture the kids? I DONT THINK SO, SHORTY! [TOUCH OF EVIL!]"

The red claw glowed... but the Big one dodged... it tore a line down his left arm.

"WHAT ARE YOU? HUMAN? DIGIMON? OGREMON DIDNT MENTION YOU... SO I GUESS THAT MAKES YOU LUNCH! [GOBLIN STRIKE!]"

It hit my new claws... and it HURT.

note to self, don't get hit again... I noticed my claw mark was still leaking data... "Hmm... let's try this one... [Devil Raid!]" A group of fireballs appeared... three times what that Goburimon created, and mine looked like little bats.

The little fire bats swarmed the Goburimon army, taking out quite a few. Their data being absorbed into my claw.

[Goburimon Data drain 55% initilizing upgrade. D-VICE lv2. Expanding.]

The sting again... now my entire hand and wrist were encased, and the back of my forearm...  the big one was burned, but still standing.

[Generating armor shard. Transferring. Transfer unavailable. Saving. Armor of Courage 1%. New skill derived, Devil Rocket, level: Champion(unusable). Devil Lash, level: champion (Active)]

"Okay. [Devil lash!]" My red claw glowed brighter... and my arm swung forward... a crimson Whip of light shot forth... and struck the Big one dead center...

"GUHHH! GENERAL... OGREMON... I... HAVE... FAILED... FOR...GIVE... ME!" It Dissolved into data, and was split five ways, flowing into the kids digimon... a red core waft behind, and the other Goburimon fled. I picked up the core. [ABSORB DIGICORE? Y/N?]

I Wanted more information. And I got it.

[Digicore: the heart of a digimon, it cannot be reborn without it. ALPHA digimon have fractured scores, and cannot return to their digiegg... the core will eventually dissolve, but a digimon whose core is destroyed can never return. By absorbing the fractured core, you gain that digimons knowledge and skill, freeing its Digisoul to form a new core. Absorb Digicore? Y/N?]

I mentally selected yes.

[Absorbing. Goburimon daya drain 100%. Beginning expansion.]

As the black metal encased my entire forearn,  and my remaining fingers, memories flashed through my brain.

I was small... I received my first club... And Ogremon took me aside. "You got potential, kid. Someday you may be strong like me!"

Forward. A hunting expedition... the black shard... it hit Ogremon, a small piece hit me... and we got bigger... Devimons orders to capture five human children... then I felt fear, as I saw myself through Goburimons eyes... 

[INTEGRATION COMPLETE. BLACK SHARD OBTAINED. ANALYZED. SHARD OF CHAOS. INTEGRATING. CHAOS CANNON(SEALED) UNLOCKED.(CURRENTLY UNUSABLE).]

Well... that was weird. Suddenly, a last flash of memory... except it was a voice. <please human. Save Ogremon.>

"I Will try."
