In his own time the USS Olympia was the pinnacle of human achievement. Outfitted with the best sensors, fastest engines, and himself a living computer.
However on his first voyage things go terribly wrong and he is lost in deep space for a thousand years. By the time he is awoken all that is left is a broken ship and technology so hopelessly obsolete that it belongs in a museum.
Still a secret, living computers like himself are levied to command the powerful super capital ships that define modern warfare.
It is a world where he is more valuable as scrap than any other way.
