There's nothing I can tell you. I really am clueless."

"Please, just let me talk to her. If you won't cooperate, we'll just go find her ourselves." Jihoon was starting to lose his patience. He was already standing at the door with his arms folded across his chest waiting patiently.

The man remained quiet for a while, apparently struggling with his decision. Finally, after a momentary silence, he gave in. "She's in her bedroom," he said with an annoyed tone of voice. "But I don't know what you intend to do. Go yell at her? Beat her up? Or maybe you'll do worse than that." He laughed hysterically.

Jihoon took a deep breath. "I'll make sure she doesn't get harmed."

The man chuckled again. "Oh, yeah, because you're that capable." His voice grew quieter. "Look, kid. I don't know what kind of trouble you are getting yourself into, but I suggest you don't involve your precious mother into this. She has enough on her plate already."

Jihoon narrowed his eyes and glared at the man coldly. Before he could respond, the latter immediately ran away, slamming the door shut.

"Yen-"

He was cut off by his daughter jumping against his leg.

He bent down, picking her up gently and placing her on his hip. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you?"

"Nah," she giggled. "Mommy said he'll get hurt soon. Let's go!" She held onto him and headed upstairs. "Where's Mommy?"

"In her room."

When they arrived, she was lying on her bed, sleeping peacefully. Her hair was disheveled and tangled; the blanket was half covering her body and half hanging down. He placed Yena on the floor carefully, making sure that she wouldn't fall. "Go get your mommy, okay?" he whispered softly, stroking the girl's cheek. "Get in bed with her and wait for me, alright? Don't worry."

Yena nodded. Then she left the room quietly, closing the door behind her.
