Chapter 15: 15

Jihoon waited a few moments, making sure that she would be gone for good. When she was far enough for him to hear her snoring, he slowly approached his mother.

As he neared her, he realized something. The first time he'd ever seen her asleep was almost five years ago. When she was a little girl then, her father used to wake her up every day to have breakfast with his parents. They had a big table with lots of different foods, and sometimes he was there with her. Sometimes her mother was also there, sitting on one side of the table while Jihoon's dad sat opposite her.

The memory made him smile fondly at the woman. Even though there had been countless fights between them, they were always together. Their relationship was always filled with happiness. They were probably the best couple out of all of them. 

He shook his head and sighed. Then he kneeled beside her bed and lifted the blanket covering her body. Carefully removing the blanket, he tucked her into bed. Once he finished doing that, he grabbed a pillow and draped it over her.

Once satisfied, he walked towards the door, but before he left the room, he glanced back to check her condition. Seeing that she was fast asleep, he finally left the room. Closing the door silently, he proceeded downstairs and went outside to sit on the bench nearby the stairs.

He stared at the wall, watching the raindrops drizzling from the windows. He knew that he shouldn't stay outside, not when it rained like this every year. Still, he didn't move nor did he close his eyes.

After awhile he began hearing some voices coming from upstairs. After listening closely for a second, he recognized one of them to be Yena's. The other was unfamiliar. He knew it wasn't anyone from around. Not yet. That was his mistake.

A few more minutes passed and Yena eventually made her way down the stairs, wearing pajamas and slippers. Her blonde hair was messy as usual and she looked exhausted.

"Why are you outside?" she questioned, confused to see him. "It's raining outside. Are you nuts? You'll catch a cold!"

"Do you live here or not?" He inquired angrily.

She furrowed her brows. "You should go inside, Jihoon. Your feet must be freezing!"

"Do you have any idea what kind of situation I'm currently in?"

"That is completely irrelevant to me!" She shook her head. "Now go back inside before you catch a cold. You'
