I walked away with the burning village to my back. Over the course of the next few days I walked slowly along the dirt road filled with human tracks. I thought about many things. What does everything mean? What is my purpose? I wanted to know. I continued walking while taking in the sounds of the forest around me. Eventually I came to see another human settlement much like the last two as I went over a hill. This one had wooden spikes all around it, and it looked like they were ready for me this time.
Rows and rows of people holding spears were guarding the entrance. They had faces filled with unadulterated rage as they looked at me. I guessed the screaming villagers had told these new villagers all about me. One of the people in the front had a taller spear than the others, and from it hung a white banner with depictions on it. I had no idea what the point of those depictions were, but I could tell it was important by the way the man was carrying it upright.
He smirked at me before calling out to me. “Oi, Demon! Stop right there, and we will make sure you will be brought before a king to be executed. Your death will be swift and painless. You see my men here…” As he paused all of the men slammed the bottoms of their spears on the ground as if on cue. “We don’t take lightly to someone who looks like you killing our people. The poor people of these villages asked for help, and you are looking at the kingdom's finest!” All of the men responded at the same time tapping their spears in unison. “HAAAAH!”
Without response, and without reason I started running towards them. The men faltered for a second before the leader yelled out. “See, men! She is no more than a beast! Get her!” Like a wave all of the men steeled themselves and let out a battlecry.”HAAAAAAAAGHHH!” They all started to charge at me screaming bloody murder.
I picked up my speed and before long I was already onto my first target. The unlucky soul who was faster than the rest would be the first to die. I launched a ball of fire at his face as I kicked his spear from underneath whirling it around and into his neck. Their formation was trying to surround me as I yanked the bloody spear from his neck.
With my newfound strength gotten from the fallen soldier I whipped the spear around and threw it as hard as I could. The spear went through the heads of several people before stopping. I could tell these spears were sturdier. The ends of them had something other than stone on them. One person would get close and I would siphon the blood from his neck. One person would impale me, and I would claw them to death. No matter what they tried I was still moving faster than before and with more strength. All of the warriors were nourishment for me, and they fell one by one.
In the end it was only the man with the tall spear left, and I already made him fall to his knees. I could see the fear in his face, and when I looked up at the village I saw despair in the faces of the villagers who still watched. Why are they so afraid? They are the ones who started this. I started to remember what I had done to the villages before, and when I looked down at the face of the last warrior his face changed to acceptance. It reminded me of Edna. She had that same face. Why? Why? I could not understand what was going on, and I was beginning to feel something new. I was beginning to feel a new thing that I couldn’t describe.
As I looked around my stomach started turning, and before I knew it my eyes started leaking. “Why do I feel like this?” I tried wiping the tears away, but they just kept flowing out. The man who had been silent for a while smirked at me like it was amusing. “You poor soul! Hahaha! You really are cursed by the goddess. You are just a bloodsucking de-. No! You are a Vampire!” You are reading story Representing Envy at novel35.com
Agora leisurely floats above her world watching. Before long someone new appears beside her. “What are you doing sister?” The new figure that appears beside her is an ethereal looking man. He looks like you could blow on him and he would fly away with the wind. It is almost as though he is made out of a clear paper, and you would be forgiven for thinking so; however, just like Agora, he is a god in his own right.
“I am just watching my world in amusement as always. One of my lovely creations has just learned what it feels like to feel sorrow and remorse. She was so cute with her saddened expression. By the way… What brings you here Nulla?” His expression doesn’t change at all. My brother is always the same expressionless being. I can never tell what he is thinking.
“I came here to see how your new world is holding up. That is part of my job, remember?” Agora nodded in understanding. “Yeah, I remember! Sheesh, it wasn’t like the destruction of that last world was my fault anyways. I am the only goddess of creation that gets so much flack. Where would that one system have been if I wasn’t there? You all take one incident, and then send me out into the cosmos away from even a cluster?”
“Don’t make me remind you of what exactly caused the destruction of that world. The destruction of that world wasn’t in its fate, Agora. Anyways, I will take my leave now.” Nulla evaporated into mist and disappeared.
“Sheesh, Whatever… I will do whatever the hell I want in my world out here. No one will be able to stop me anyways. Now, where was I?” She panned the screen over back to the human kingdom to see what they would do.
