"Boss, we have brought the prisoners as per your order. They are waiting for your judgment," The burly, muscular man with a bushy mustache said without making eye contact as soon as Ethan opened the door. He was waiting for him on his knees in front of the door.

'A meat mountain!!! What was his name, again? Ah, Muller,' Ethan thought after seeing Muller's built. He had faced many fighters of his built back in the underground arena, 'I wonder who would win if we fought in the arena without any rules.' His hands were itching for a fight but now was neither the time nor the place.

Muller was sweating buckets because he knew his Boss's rage. It's been two years since his Boss defeated the fortress master and took his place. Since then, he has always ruled with iron-clad rules and never spared any rule breakers.

And now, after one and a half years of peace and 0 crime rate, it finally happened. The worst crime of all took place in the fortress under the guards' watch. The theft of precious resources, food, and drinking water.

Muller was afraid, thinking that his Boss might kill the prisoners on sight, along with all the guards who were on guard duty last night. And his daughter was one of the fifty guards who was on resource guard duty last night.

"Boss!!! Are you alright?" Muller inquired, 'Please don't kill my daughter. Oh, God. Save my daughter.' He was praying in his mind.

Ethan remembered how ruthless the owner of his new body was. But everything he did was to improve the life of the citizens. He even provided water and food to every person according to the number of family members.

The family of the guards gets a bit more resources according to their rankings. No one ever went to bed empty belly after he took over the fortress from the previous master. Yet, someone dared to stole food and water after all that.

When the fortress master came back from a successful hunt with a giant mutated wild boar. He planned to throw a party and celebrate. But he was greeted with the news of a theft.

He blew up in anger and wanted to kill those thieves, but he decided to judge them in the morning and make an example out of them in front of the public so that in the future, no one would dare to repeat the same mistake again.

'Ah, the classic theft mission. Find and punish the thief. Easy enough,' Ethan thought after reassigning his memories since the memories of the previous owner were welling up in his mind, 'But to think they stole after everything he did for them.'

Ethan noticed that Muller was quivering in fear.

'It's over,' Muller thought after feeling Ethan's gaze on him.

"What's wrong? If you want to tell me something, now is a good time," Ethan said in an arrogant tone, trying to mimic a ruthless person. He glanced around the room. And there wasn't anyone other than them, "There is no one around. So, talk..."

Muller explained her daughter's situation and begged Ethan not to punish her. She is the only family he has. He kept on begging to spare his daughter's life again and again, "I will give up my part of resource this week... No!!! A month, I will give up a month worth of resources. Please spare my daughter." He slammed his head on the floor.

Ethan thought this was his chance to make a deal with the fear-stricken Muller. He wants to know how much power his new body has because, in a war-ridden world, he needs to get stronger to survive. And someone like Muller will be a perfect opponent to train.

So, Ethan offered Muller a deal to have a private 1v1 fight with him in exchange for his daughter's life, "I feel like I am getting rusty, and you will be my training opponent. What do you think? Oh, and you don't have to give up your resources... A good deal, right?"

Muller stumbled on his ass after hearing Ethan's proposal. He looked more afraid than before, and his face looked white as if he had seen a ghost, "You... You will spare my daughter if I fight you!!! What if I lose?" He knows that there is no way he can win against someone like his Boss. He fears that Boss will kill his daughter if he loses the fight.

"No need to worry, I won't hurt her," Ethan reassured Muller after grabbing his right shoulder while looking into his eyes with a smile, "Now, shall we go? We have kept them waiting long enough... Lead the way."

Muller jumped up, "Thank you, Boss. Please look after her after my death." He began to walk toward the entrance at the end of the hallway.

'Ahhh!!! What the heck is he talking about? I was talking about training,' Ethan thought.

Muller was walking through the hallway, thinking about his past experience, which haunts him till today.

It was approximately one year and 2 months ago. Conflicts had settled down a bit in the Drogos fortress after the takeover. The new fortress master, whom people called Boss, was around 24 years old. Someone spread a rumor that the new leader doesn't have any power and used deception to win the 1v1 duel with the previous fortress master, who was an ability holder.

After hearing the rumors, the nearby bandits and small settlement leaders came to challenge him. Those leaders thought that they could easily kill a young boy who won the battle through deception and dirty means. And the bandit leaders, who are known for their dirty way of fighting, were a bit overconfident.

However, it was already too late when they realized the reality and their mistake of challenging Boss because there was no one alive to realize the reality.

The Boss of the Drogos fortress made a large arena and challenged all the leaders to an all-out brawl battle. The last standing challenger will get the title of the Drogos fortress's new leader.

It was as good a deal as any because it would eliminate all the troubles and leaders of the settlements in a single battle. And the winner will get to rule all those lands along with the Drogos fortress, known for its water filtering facility in the entire eastern region. So, everyone agreed to the deal.

And on the day of the battle, things didn't go according to their plan. They heard that the Boss doesn't have any abilities. So, everyone rushed at him to eliminate the throne on their path first. There were 40 leaders and among them, 10 were ability holders.

Blades, swords, axes, pipe guns, dart slingers, barb-wired baseball bats, and many other customized weapons were lying on the ground along with puddles of blood and entrails. The battle was over instantly. No one saw what happened that day except for a few seasoned fighters, and Muller was one of them.

Muller clearly saw what happened. Just when they were about to strike Boss down, he flicked his finger in the air, and his eyes gave a silver glint. Instantly, everyone in the arena either exploded or melted.

Later, Muller learned that it was Boss who was behind the false rumors. His plan was to clear the neighbor in a single go. This is how Boss took over the entire eastern region under his control in a single day, and Drogos fortress became the main base.

Ethan and Muller went out through the entrance gate.
