I glanced out the window of my black challenger to view the neighborhood. It mostly looked the same but I saw the improvements.
"You grew up here?" Phoebe asked me from the passenger seat.
She was a beautiful young woman that played in a popular show for young girls. Today she was my guest and didn't wear anything too expensive or outgoing. She just wore some blue jeans and a white shirt with a golden bracelet.
"Yeah. Things were so different back then." I said with a slight smile.
I turned to glance at her. "I'm surprised your agents let you come with me."
"They think it will be good for my image. You have a good reputation and have done a lot for this community. Being seen with you will boost my image, or so I was told." She said.
I laughed. This was not the first time I've heard this. There were other celebrities that wanted to be seen with me. I was still unsure as to why.
I've only released one film so far, so I should not be that popular. The only thing I had going for me was that I was the owner of the giant know as YouTube.
"I can see why they would say that. I actually wanted to bring you along because there are a few fans at the school. Seeing you is a dream of theirs and I just want to see it fulfilled." I told her. "Also, as an actress you may have a good time watching the children preform." I added.
"What kind of play is it?"
"It's Aladdin. I think it's a bold choice, considering I haven't heard of children preforming it before." I replied.
Pheobe looked a bit surprised, which I expected. It was a good story and different from the normal children's plays that used Alice in Wonderland or The Wizard of Oz as a base.
"I think this will be interesting. Did you act in any plays growing up?" She asked me.
I shook my head. "You'd be surprised. I had no experience in acting, nor knew anything about the film industry. Until now that is."
"Then what made you get into it? Most people that do something in this field want to do something special because they love it."
"I'm the same. I enjoy movies and television shows, but there are a lot more stories to tell. No one can make them all, am I right?" I asked and she nodded. "So, I at least want to produce adaptations of things I like. Be it movies, television shows or even animated films."
"Must be exciting in a way. Gambling on these stories that no one knows will succeed. I wish I could do that." She told me.
"Why can't you? Do you have anything you're interested in?"
"I do, but my manager does not think it will suit me. Since my audience is mostly catered towards young girls, he does not want to to destroy it. I like the vampire dairies and thought it would be a good idea to audition for one of the roles."
I remembered that series. I never liked it, but I did recall that it was somewhat popular.

"Go for it. If you stay in the position of being looked at in only a specific role that is all people will see you as. You have to break the mold before it traps you forever." I told her.
We arrived at the elementary school shortly after and I saw a line of cars along the curb. The parking lot was full, and there was a patrol car driving down the street.
Things definitely changed, but for the better.
I got out and so did Pheobe. We walked towards the school and chatted along the way.
"Mr. Scott, I'm glad you could make it." Mrs. Gloria said as soon as she saw me.
She was a fifth grade teacher that was popular among the children. This was because she was charming and every so often she invited her two daughters to the class to speak about their experiences in high school and college.
"Glad to be here. This is Pheobe Tokin. Pheobe this is Mrs. Gloria, a fifth grade teacher here."
Pheobe smiled and greeted her.
"Mr. Evans is busy I take it?" I asked her.
"Yes, he is speaking to some of the parents in the gymnasium. He wanted to know if you were still hosting the basketball tournament next month?" Mrs. Gloria asked me.
"Basketball tournament?" Pheobe asked confused by hearing that.
"Yeah, every so often I host an event for the community. To give away various prizes and to bring everyone together. I did not think that it would be popular but it was." I told her.
"Last year we had to move the event to the university due to the large crowd. The kids loved watching the football match, and even some players in the league showed up." Mrs. Gloria added.
"When is it? I want to know if I'll have time to show up. I'd love to see a match." Pheobe commented.
Mrs. Gloria laughed. "It's more than just a match. The exposure from the event was enough that some high schoolers got scholarships to universities. Besides, everyone is playing for the prize. So it's very intense."
Pheobe looked in my direction. I could tell she wanted to hear more.
"We recorded the event and posted it on YouTube. The viewership was more than ten million. You can find search for it if you want. And as for the prize, I put up 50 thousand dollars last year. We split everyone up into three groups, children, teens, and adults. So the showing was more than good, it was great."
"Sounds like I'll have to see this video."
"You'll love it if you like sports." Mrs. Gloria said as she checked her watch. "We should move you to a seat before the auditorium fills up. Follow me, I can assure you the children can't wait to see you again."
