Pheobe laughed and so did the rest of the crowd. The play was special, but not because of the storytelling. It was because the kids had their moments of stumbles on stage.
The kind of joy that filled you and made you smile. That is what they gave us.
"This is just too cute." She said as she covered her mouth.
I had to agree with her.
The play lasted an hour and when it was finished everyone rose to clap. The children were beeming and I was proud of them. I personally never got to experience this as a kid, but it would have an effect on them as they grow into adults.
"I want to thank you all for showing up to give us your support. It means a lot not only to me, but to the kids as well. Now I would like to invite a special guest to the stage, Mr. Alex Scott!" Mr. Evans spoke into the mic on stage as the people in the auditorium started to clap.
I got up and walked towards the stage. Smiling and waving at the parents.
The children seemed as if they wanted to jump after seeing me. It's been a bit since I last saw them so it was understandable.
"Thank you, thank you." I said as I took the mic from him.
"I was not even supposed to be up here today, this was a last minute thing, but I'm glad to be here." I told the crowd before I looked back towards the children lined up behind me. "The play was wonderful, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Truly." I told them.
"I mean it, truly. In my time as a kid I never would have dreamed something like this was possible. But, here we are today and your children get to do activities many of us didn't have growing up. They should not take that for granted, and I don't think they will. They look up to all of us for guidance, and it's our job to make sure they take the path that is right for them. I for one went in a different direction than my parents wanted, but I turned out just fine. Support their dreams and ambitions, even if it doesn't look like it will take them places. You never know what the future holds." The audience clapped for me at the end, and so did the children. I was surprised by that, but it still felt good.
Was the speech good? I'm not really sure, but it was something.
After walking off stage and going back to my seat, the nearby parents greeted me. This didn't bother me as I enjoyed talking to different people.
"That was nice." Pheobe told me as I sat down.
"Was it? I didn't think much of it if I'm being honest." I said.
"Yeah, it was good. What do you have planned for after this?"
I checked the time, it was four in the afternoon.
"Nothing today, but I have to catch a flight to New York tomorrow morning. I have a meeting with a record label."
"You are getting into music as well? Guess this is what the top one percent does with their money."
I laughed. It was not true, but now that she said it outloud it was not a bad idea. But I don't think it would be worth it.
Then I remembered what Sandra told me. I could own various businesses without actually being the main figurehead. They would go about their day to day producing whatever they saw fit, and give me a portion of the earnings. The company would be mine and I could give them directions to go in, but the CEO would still be in charge.
It was a good idea, and now that it was 2007 small companies started to emerge that would become big later on. All the top artists of the future were young.
"That's not a bad idea. But I was meeting them to discuss and upcoming project of mines." I said without going any further.

Pheobe didn't ask me anything after that as we were too busy rushing out of the auditorium before the rewrite of the spectators.
"Mr. Scott." I heard someone yell from behind me. But I didn't know anyone here that would call my name, so they had to be talking about someone else.
The teachers were still inside and so was Mr. Evans.
"Mr. Scott, a moment please!" The voice called out even louder.
I paused and turned to look around. A tall white man with shaggy brown hair approached me. Who was this?
"Mr. Scott, I'm Dwayne Walling, you don't know me but I've heard a lot about you." He said as he stuck out his hand.
I shook it. "Nice to meet you. May I ask what you want?"
"I just wanted to make your acquaintance. As I said I've heard a lot about you and what you are doing for the community. Have you any thoughts on running for Mayor?" Dwayne Walling asked me.
I shook my head.
"Never crossed my mind. I don't do politics."
He smiled. "But you're a businessman, so you kind of do already. But as I said, I just wanted to introduce myself. I won't take up anymore of your time."
Pheobe who was next to me the entire time looked confused. She was not the only one, I had no clue what just happened.
We left and the ride back was silent. I was thinking of the future.
I came back here with a minor goal. To make adaptations of various sources that I liked, and to make a game. It was that simple.
I had more than enough to do just that, but now I owned YouTube. I invested in many companies and my mind kept thinking about what was next. I did not want to think it, but I was changing.
It was always there in my head, but when Pheobe asked me if I was getting into the music industry, my mind just naturally said why not. But did I truly want to be a media conglomerate? Did I have what it takes to run something so large?
The car parked and Pheobe got out. I rolled down the window and called her name.
"Yeah?" She asked me.
"If I started an agency to manage actors, actresses, and musicians would you be interested in joining?"
She was silent for a while. "I think it depends. You've had a successful movie and everyone in anticipating your next release. But if it fails your name will too. You're different because of what you've come up with, and you're also new to this field. No one that has established themselves will agree to sign a deal with you, unless you give them a nice bonus. But, if you come out with hit after hit, who can say no?" She told me.
