Ten years ago, Mark underwent demonic possession two months after discovering his fiance’s affair. At first, he believed he could fix his relationship, so he decided to hide the fact that he knew. He tried asking for relationship counseling, but Monica ignored him whenever he brought it up. However, she suspected that Mark was investigating the cheating, and she started to act paranoid. On a fateful evening during dinner, he confronted her at the dining table with questions regarding Monica’s relationship with another man. She snapped at him and called him a jealous husband. Afterward, she left the house, saying she was going to her parents’ house.

Mark decided to follow secretly. His whole body already showed symptoms of undergoing possession. His entire body was itching, so he kept scratching himself until he bled. His eyes were bloodshot, making him look like an insane psychopath.

“It’s alright. She’s probably just going to one of her friends!” Mark kept telling himself. “It’s alright! Please,” he said with a pleading expression on his face.

As he drove further, he realized that he had never been to this part of the town, nor did he know any of his or Monica’s friends who lived here. He bit his lower lip to the point it bled when Monica slowed down the car.

“Please, Monica, think about our child.”

When she stopped her car near an unfamiliar house, his hands started shaking. When Monica parked her car, he heard the sound of her door unlocking. He looked through the passenger window and saw her get out. Mark watched as she took out the phone and called someone. Then after brief moments, the house doors opened, and a man in his forties showed himself inviting Monica in. The two of them kissed, and she entered the house.

Mark gritted his teeth, pulled out a cigarette, and turned on the radio. He kept smoking cigarette after cigarette and cursing his fiance while listening to broken love songs. He wanted to cry, but not a single tear came out. His fingers began cracking with every move, eventually becoming loud snapping noises.

Suddenly the music changed, followed by static, and it caused him pain. He continued to snap and growl, his muscles starting to strain under his skin. Soon enough, Mark could no longer stand the noise, so he punched the radio as hard as he could. When he noticed his hand was bleeding, he started hitting the radio again.

“Fucking piece of garbage!” he yelled at the radio as he continued to punch it.

His eyes grew redder and redder as he repeatedly punched and kicked the radio until he threw it out of the car. Suddenly, he felt something pulling him away from the vehicle. He struggled against whatever grabbed his neck as he slowly walked towards the house door. He reached out his clawed hand and held onto the doorknob. Suddenly, the door slammed open, and he saw a horrific monster standing there. It was a demon with multiple faces, and they all wore evil smiles.

“You are mine now,” one of the demons stated.

The creature’s mouth began turning green, and its hands grew huge claws. Mark’s vision turned dark, and then everything went black.

The moment Mark entered the house, he picked up the baseball bat beside the television and swung it at his wife’s leg. When she fell, screaming in pain, he continued to hit her repeatedly in her limbs.

The affair partner worked in the police department, so he instantly recognized demonic possession. However, before he could say or do anything, Mark jumped at him and smashed his head into the window.

“S-stop…” The man asked in a pleading tone. However, Mark picked up a broken shard and stabbed his stomach, making him groan in pain.

“I can feel your heart beating, and it hurts!” Mark screamed, and his saliva splashed on the affair partner’s face. “Why won’t you die already? You’re ruining my perfect life! My child’s life!” He shouted with tears streaming from his eyes as he repeatedly stabbed the other man.

“Mark, please stop!” Monica cried out as her fiance repeatedly stabbed her affair partner in the stomach.

Mark slowly regained his senses and finally stopped stabbing him, but he still sat holding the shard. With his eyes closed, he leaned back into the chair and rested his arms and feet on the armrests, breathing heavily. With each breath, steam rose from his nostrils and ears.

“I love you,” Mark suddenly whispered, his eyes open. “I love you so much it hurts!”

He was fighting the urge to kill her as his eyes glowed yellow, and his pupils expanded. Voices inside his head kept shouting “Kill!” and “This bitch deserves to die for what she did to us!”

But Mark ignored them. He didn’t want his son to suffer because of him, which meant he would have to make sure the mother of his child survived.

“Monica, I’m sorry I failed you. I wish we could go back. I wish none of this happened,” he said as his eyes returned to normal.

“It’s my fault,” Monica replied in a weak voice as she was afraid to trigger her husband’s rage. She was trying her best to remain calm since he was extremely unstable.

“No, it isn’t! Everything is always my fault.” Mark’s nails dug into the armrests, causing deep scratches to form. He clenched his jaw, and then his eyes narrowed dangerously. The next thing Monica knew, the armrests broke as they flew across the room. She flinched when Mark got up off the couch and ran towards her. Monica braced herself for her fate.

However, before reaching Monica. He stabbed himself in the neck and fell to the ground. Once the blood started gushing out, his eyes rolled backward, and he collapsed.

Once the shock passed, Monica crawled toward Mark’s lifeless body and began sobbing hysterically. She cried for hours until she passed out. Corpses littered the floor, and blood covered most surfaces in the living room. The windows, ceiling, and walls were destroyed.

Only the next day did the police arrive on the scene to check why Arnold, the affair partner, never showed up at work nor picked up the calls.

When they entered the house, they were horrified to see the crime scene and found Mark’s and Arnold’s bloody remains, with unconscious Monica lying near Mark’s corpse. Arnold and Monica were both naked.

“Oh my god….” Jeff, one of the officers, muttered quietly as he looked at the gruesome sight.

“Is she… dead?” Samuel asked nervously. He felt sick to his stomach seeing the carnage around him.

Jeff walked to Monica and placed two fingers on her neck to check her pulse. After a few seconds, he shook his head and sighed. “Alive.”

Samuel called an ambulance while Jeff inspected Mark’s and Arnold’s bodies. When he saw Mark’s pupils turn red and his teeth’ fangs grew longer, Jeff understood that Mark had discovered his cheating wife, gone full demon mode, and killed Arnold.

Jeff looked at Mark with pity and admiration. In Jeff’s eyes, he was a strong-willed man. Not every person could resist the urge to kill everyone nearby after the demon takes their bodies. In fact, in most cases, when a human is possessed, they go on a murder spree to silence the whispers in their heads.

When the paramedics arrived, they checked Monica first. Her vital signs were good, despite the severe injuries she sustained. They decided to treat her first before dealing with the dead bodies.

After the paramedics treated Monica, Jeff called Chief Inspector James. He wanted to report the case immediately.

When James heard the news, he was shocked. “What a disaster.” He put his hand over his forehead before continuing. “Inform their relatives.”

Jeff nodded. “Yes, sir!”

After Monica woke up, she was greeted by an officer waiting in the hospital room.

“How are you feeling?” The officer asked her.

“A little sore, but fine,” Monica replied as she looked around. “Where’s Mark?”

“What?” Jeff asked with a confused expression.

“My husband. Where is Mark?” She repeated more assertively this time. “And my son, Damon?”

“Your husband is….” Jeff said with hesitation before sighing. “You should probably know. Your husband has become a demon; his whereabouts are unknown.”

Jeff decided to lie until her condition was more stable. If she found out her husband died during her memory loss, she could demonize as well. Demons avoid people guilty of betrayal, but without her memories, she would be the perfect host for one, especially during her fragile mental stability.

She stared at him in disbelief, making Jeff realize she was not faking it. Her eyes started watering, and soon tears streamed down her face. She wrapped her arms around herself as she cried.

”Why?!” she cried, almost incoherently.“Please, tell me he didn’t kill anyone!”

Jeff was speechless as he tried to think of a believable answer. Finally, he settled on saying, “Your son is with your parents-in-law.”

He decided not to question anymore, as it was pointless. He left the room and drove to check up on her son, Damon, who was eight years old at the time.

When he reached the house, he took a deep breath and knocked on the doors. In a minute, he heard a woman’s voice.

" It should be your mommy, Damon; open the doors.”

“Okay!” A tired child’s voice replied, and soon doors opened.

When Jeff saw Damon, he stood speechless for a moment. The boy had bright red eyes and white hair. The boy had undergone possession some time ago. He was shocked and stared at the boy.

“Hello?” Damon asked in confusion as he rubbed his eyes sleepily. “Who’re you?”
