Chapter 14: It

With that, the two Manos sisters had been adopted into the Cavias family. Yes, they still had to be adopted officially in an administration that dealt with this type of thing, but, since they had accepted it, and this was the Cavias noble family, there wasn't a thing anyone could do to stop them from being welcomed into the Cavias family.

The Fierce Lion, John Cavias, who was also the family leader, smiled, as he said, "Anyway, children, please step out of the room, me and the other adults need to discuss some important things now!".

At that, a young servant - The same one who had invited them to eat lunch - came over to where the two little Manos sisters, and also where Rosin and Matthew were sitting. He said to them, "Please follow me!".

With that, the group of four children made their way outside the room. Matthew took one final look at the Fierce Lion, as he imagined what could have been, had he accepted not to become a Magician.

'Ah! I really am not lucky, first, dad and mom, and everyone inside Ronia village, they... Dammit! And now, I passed on becoming a son of the Fierce Lion himself! One of the 17 Pillars of our kingdom! Ah! Well, I will have to do my best at the orphanage!'.

After that, Matthew got out of the room with the other three girls, and the young servant. The four of them were taken to another room, that was also beautifully decorated (Matthew had started to get accustomed to this already, hence, why he didn't really react this time around).

The four sat, and the young servant said to them, "If you need anything, just ask me, I will be outside the room! We just need you to stay on your best behavior, to not shame the leader of the family in front of the other four branch leaders! Who, no, never mind that! Have a good time!".

The young servant made his way outside the room, leaving the four children alone. Matthew was deep in thought, what the servant had said stuck inside his mind. 'Ahh! Why am I not smart enough to understand anything? Why did he stop there? What was he going to say? I want to know, but I am sure he won't tell me, even if I ask him!'.

'Hmm! C'mon, stupid head, think, think, he said that the family leader, which is the Fierce Lion, needs us to be good in front of those four scary people, but why? Not to shame him, he said, I guess, but,  there seems to be something missing? Ahh! I really don't know what it is, and it bothers me a lot!'.

Terria, who had been looking at the young boy all this while, asked him, "Amm! What is bothering you, Matt? Is it, that, we won't be staying with each other? You know, we could always go with you, if you want us to come!".

Matthew stopped trying to think about that subject. He turned to look at the girl who was sitting beside him. At the same time, Rosin was with Sonia, and it seemed like the two of them were hitting it off quite well.

They were in their own corner of the room, and since this room was quite big, they didn't hear what Terria had just said. Rosin smiled as she looked at Sonia, she then proceeded to say, "You know, you're really cute now that I look at you!".

"And well, I don't mind you being my little sister... Ah! What are you doing?", Rosin was a little surprised when Sonia ran to her, and started hugging her. She heard the 4-year-old say, "I am so happy that I have you as my sister now! Terria always wants to play house, but I am bored of that!".

The young girl named Sonia, pouted, as she released Rosin, and asked her, "Well, you agree with me, right? That house game is so boring, what do you like to do?". Rosin looked at the young girl beside her, she smiled and said, "Hmph! Yup! I also hate that stupid game!".

"Theresia always makes me play it with her, sometimes, I even think she's the child instead!", Rosin chuckled a little as she said so. The same thing happened with Sonia, who also started chuckling in a cute way when she heard her.

Rosin, then continued, "I like to play with Asvin way more, he likes to play "It"! Do you know it?". Little Sonia shook her head, and said, "No! What is it about?". Rosin smiled, and said, "Well, it's a lot of fun for starters!".

"The game begins, and you touch one of the group you play with, which is usually Asvin, since he is the only one who plays it with me, you say you're it, and then run off, as for the person who's it at the moment, he tries to catch you, and if he does, he needs to say, you're it! And the game continues like that, until we are out of breath!".

Sonia's eyes sparkled as she looked at Rosin, the excitement she was feeling at the moment was visible in how her body kept shaking. And so, Rosin said, "If you want, we can play it later together! But, I have to warn you, I run very fast, so it will be hard to catch me, do you still want to play?".

Even though Rosin said that, she really hoped Sonia would agree, since, even though Asvin played with her a lot, he still had a lot of stuff to do, the same was true for Theresia, and so, she would be left alone for most of the day.

She felt very lonely because of that, and now, even though she acted like she didn't care, she was actually extremely happy to have two sisters who were about the same age as her. Sonia nodded her head in complete excitement at Rosin, as she said, "Yes! Of course I do, you will see, I am also a very fast runner, I even run more than Terria whenever we do a speed competition, though, Matthew always wins!".

At the same time that this conversation was going on, in another corner of the room, Matthew smiled at Terria, after he heard what she said to him. He said, his tone calm, "No! It's okay! Terria, I want you to know that, I am not leaving because I don't want to stay with you and Sonia! That's very wrong!".

"In fact, I really do want to stay with you two, but, because I am not allowed to become a Magician if I do so, then, I can't stay here, and the same is true for you, if you go to the orphanage, you will be bullied, and won't be able to live a very good life!".

"Instead, if you stay here, you will live like a noble, do you know what that means? It means that you will live a very good life! No, you will live the best life!". Terria now understood why Matthew had told her to stay here with Sonia, still, what he just said, also made her worry about him a lot.

"But, you... you just said that we would be bullied at the orphanage, isn't that where you're going? And also, you said that life there isn't good! But, you will be living there, I don't want that for you!", said the worried little girl, as some tears started forming at the corner of her eyes.

Matthew smiled, and, as he wiped the tears from Terria's eyes, he proceeded to say, "It will be okay, I can defend myself, remember, I know how to do magic, I just showed you in the garden a while ago! As for the other matter!".

"Well, it's true that I won't live the best life at the beginning, but remember, I am a very good Magician, and I have the best of talents in it, and so, after I show the leaders of the orphanage how good I am at magic, they will start to treat me very good, so, see, I have everything under control, you don't have to cry, nor worry about me, I will be fine!".

"So, the best thing you can do to make me happy, is to have as much fun in your life as possible, can you do that for me, Terria?", asked Matthew with a warm smile covering his face.

Terria started to cry even more, she hugged Matthew, and said, "Yes! I will do it, but, I will miss you a lot, so, I will come to visit every week, that's okay, right?". Matthew patted her head. He said, "Of course it is, I will also miss you a lot, so it would make me happy every time you visit!".
