Two years have already passed since Matthew had started learning magic, from his teacher, the young green haired Magician, Micheal. He was now 9 years old, but nothing much had changed for him.

He, of course, became way smarter, and his ability in controlling the One Power, has improved drastically compared to what it was two years ago. As well, as his knowledge about magic and the world around him.

Furthermore, he had learned quite a few spells in these two years, and had become pretty powerful. He had even had some fights against his teacher Micheal - of course, the young Magician didn't use his real strength - but even so, he was very impressed by Matthew, and told him, that currently, he was at about the level of a newbie 0th Mage in the Black Tower.

Matthew was very surprised when he heard that, after all, it had meant that he was so strong, that he could fight off against other Magicians now. And also, that at the moment, no one inside the orphanage could compete with him.

Since his casting time had been shortened, to where he could now cast Fire Bolt in about three or so seconds, he was sure that he could cast it before anyone of the adults could even reach him.

But, Matthew also, was shocked to learn, that if with all that he had learned, and how much strong he had become, he was still ranked as a 0th Star in the Black Tower. and was ranked as one of the lowest even in the 0th Star.

That truly made him understand how strong someone like the King's Power, which could fight against a Sixth Star was. And especially, how strong a being like the Dark Crow was.

Only now, did he realize why Max kept telling him that his dream was unreachable. Still, he trained every day, and hadn't lost his motivation, his goal was still the same, "Destroy the Black Tower, and prevent the Black Emperor from ruling the world another time!".

He had also learned so much about the Black Fire incident, like the rumors that suggested that some of the nobles of the kingdom, had helped the Black Tower in their massacre. After all, it was very strange that all the seven villages that were attacked, didn't have guards that night to help.

If the guards were there, of course, there would still be many people dying, but many would be saved, and there was a chance the guards could contact others to provide them with support, they might even wipe out the group sent by the Black Tower. But such a thing didn't happen, since the guards all had, "Stuff", to do that night.

And so, a new goal for Matthew had begun. His goal entailed the following, "Search for the truth behind the Black Fire incident!". He wanted to know if someone, like the nobles, were involved in the incident, aside from the groups sent by the Black Tower. But, he also wanted to know the reason for such an incident happening in the first place.

After all, until now, there still wasn't any justification for such a massacre to occur. No one knew why the Black Tower did such a thing. Even worse, the Black Tower didn't stop after the Black Fire incident, they massacred a total of four other villages in those last two years.

As for how the three kingdoms had reacted, well, they didn't do much of anything. A group of elite soldiers in Decartium - The kingdom where Matthew was living in currently - was sent to kill some Black Tower Magicians, and it did succeed in wiping out a group led by a Third Star, but that was it.

That didn't do a thing to actually injure the Black Tower, it was more like squashing a small moth, when your real enemy was a giant dragon. In other words, it didn't do anything to the Black Tower, in fact, no one was sent for revenge, the Black Tower ignored that event, like it wasn't even important to avenge that small group.

Unfortunately, that was how strong the Black Tower was, the only reason they hadn't invaded a kingdom yet, was that they were scared the Great Empire would move against them.

The Great Empire as it was called, was an empire on another continent, Thantanos. An empire that was so strong, it had lasted for more than 4 thousand years till now. And was still one of the strongest powers in the world. Some, even thought of it as being the strongest.

After all, aside from the other two empires, who could deal with this great force?

The Black Tower didn't want a war with this empire, and by invading a kingdom, they would be getting a war, since all four human kingdoms on the Rosendar continent were in a work treaty with the Great Empire. In other words, they were under it's protection.

Not even the Black Tower dared oppose the Great Empire that had lasted for more than 4 thousand years. The empire that had a figure that rivaled the Dark Crow in strength, the strongest swordsman - As some like to call him - The Dragon Slayer.

Aside from that, they had an air army composed of dragons! Legendary monsters that breathed fire, monsters that governed the sky, monsters that no one dared to challenge! The single power that could control them, was the Great Empire. This was one of the things that allowed this empire to stay for more than 4 thousand years.

Aside from his training, Matthew had become very good friends with Max, and all the other kids inside the orphanage. Whenever the Cavias family visited him, and brought him food, or delicious sweets, he would share with everyone, making him very likable among all the kids at the orphanage.

The adults didn't like this, but, they couldn't do a thing to stop it. After all, Matthew was under the protection of The Fierce Lion. But, that wasn't the only thing anymore, because now, he could kill them with a single flick of his fingers. One of the reasons, that the adults started abusing the kids less, and less over these past two years.

Matthew had spoken with Robert one time, where he said to him the following, "If I hear one of my friends say that you hurt him again, I will ruin you! You are the one that is seeing me train every day; you know that I could kill you all if I wanted to, so just keep that in mind!".

Robert was so shocked, he didn't sleep that day, he thought to himself, 'This, this can't be true, he's only nine years old... but, somehow, he's right, I've seen what he's capable of, even against an actual Magician, he held up himself quite well, as for us, normal humans, well, he could certainly kill us in no time!'.

'He's also become so fast at casting spells, that before we reach him, to try and overpower him with strength, we would already be dead! Dammit! I don't know if that child is for real about killing us, but since he can, I don't want to leave my life to a chance of the child being scared of killing!'.

'I mean, I've heard the rumors about the demonic face he made while getting out of the hospital on his first day. And I certainly don't think a child like that would be afraid of killing!'.

Robert wanted to stop with the teaching, but that wasn't possible anymore. Once he told Micheal, the green haired Magician said some things to him, that made Robert think again about that thought.

The next day, Asvin had come, and said, "The training will continue, I have spoken to Sir Micheal, and I will be paying him instead, but, the training will continue, is that clear?". Robert nodded through gritted teeth, he had grown very angry at these contant threats from Asvin.

Yet, he could do nothing about them, at least, not yet.

For the visits from the Cavias family, they never stopped, over these two past years, every single week, at the very least, the two Manos sisters, would visit him along with Asvin, as a sort of guide.

As for the other three, Theresia came a lot, but had sometimes where she was busy, and couldn't come. Rania came less compared to her daughter, since after all, she was the wife of the current leader of the family, and had many important matters to attend to.

And finally, Rosin came to visit a lot as well, and only missed about three or so times, and that was because she was sick on those occasions. It seemed like she had become the best of friends with Sonia, and Terria, the two Manos sisters, or the Cavias sisters, since they were now part of the family.

The three little girls had met up with Matthew's friends at the orphanage, and it seemed like the Manos sisters, who had become very good at sword fighting. They often beat Matthew up when doing combat against him.

Which was the reason they hit it off very well with Max, who seemed to prefer the use of small daggers - of course, hers were made of wood - they often fought with each other, and learned from each other as well.

Asvin had gotten even stronger, and according to his father, John Cavias, The Fierce Lion, he was now at the level where he could fight a Third Star from the Black Tower.

Which, after Matthew had learned how strong a 0th Star was, he could only try to imagine the difference between him and big brother Vin.

Matthew had also learned about a new organization forming in Decartium, still to this day, no one knew their name, nor their goal, all the people knew so far, was that it was formed by a strong, and evil person. They called him, The Shadow Assassin.

That was close to everything that happened to Matthew over these last two years. Today, he was training like usual with his magic tutor, the young green haired Magician, Micheal.

While he was training, he suddenly stopped, and turned to look at Robert, who had arrived before him. He was a little surprised by his appearance. He was supposed to not be bothered while he learned magic, and since today wasn't the end of the week, and the Cavias family wasn't visiting, there shouldn't have been any reason why Robert would be here.

Still, the man in normal clothes was here before him. He looked at the green haired Magician, and said, "Unfortunately, the training for today will be cut short, you can stop here, thanks for coming as usual, sir Micheal!".

Micheal frowned a little, as he asked, "Why is that?". Robert didn't seem like he intended to answer him, and so, he only got a, "Something important has come up. Please don't complicate stuff for us, sir Micheal!".

The young Magician frowned, as he nodded, and said, "Matt! If I don't find you ready tomorrow, let's just say that you will be in great trouble, anyway! Goodnight for now!".

With that, and after he heard Matthew say his goodbyes, Micheal left the orphanage. Matthew looked at Robert for a second, before he heard, "Follow me!". He asked to where, but there was no reply.

He snorted softly, then did as asked to do. As he was taking him to a room he had never seen been before, but had heard about a lot from the other kids at the orphanage. This room belonged to the boss - as they called him - of the orphanage.

Matthew kept asking Robert about what was going on, but the man in normal clothes responded with the same, "You will know when we get there!". This only served to make Matthew suspicious. Leading him to ready himself for battle, as he drew some of the One Power toward himself.

After they finally reached the room. Robert opened the door for the nine-year-old, as he said, "Get inside!". With that, Robert waited for Matthew, who got inside as ordered, before he shut the door, and left.

Inside this room, that looked truly beautiful, it even made Matthew question if he was still at the orphanage, were two men. There was a brown long desk separating them, Matthew recognized the person on the side of the desk that was close to the window, he was the boss of the orphanage, but he didn't recognize whoever the other person was. He appeared to be in his late thirties, he looked average, and wore a blue noble's outfit.

He had black hair, and it seemed like he was a noble. His family symbol, was a dark wolf's head. Matthew didn't recognize that emblem, even though he had been taught about many noble families emblems by big brother Vin over these last two years.

Still, that didn't matter, what did, was what the boss of the orphanage said to him in the next second. "Ahm! Matthew, this sir here, is called, Nero Ankston! He is a nobleman, and well, he wants to adopt you as his son!".

Matthew had already thought so when he entered the room. Still, hearing his thoughts get confirmed, made him a little shocked. He was going to get adopted by a noble family!
