In an empty street, stood four figures. Two children that looked to be around nine years old, one young man holding a saber, and a middle-aged man who was being threatened by that same saber.

The man said in anger, "Well, how do you know that it wasn't them who were trying to kill me, and I only was defending myself?". The young man smiled and said, "Do you know what people call me? Of course, you don't!".

The young, handsome man then said, "Elephant's Ear! Yes, I know it's more of an insult than a cool title, and I do intend to get myself a cool one in the future, what do you think would suite me best... Oh wait, this is not the time for that!".

"Ahm! As I was saying, I have great hearing skills, how do you think I found out about you three fighting? I also didn't intervene for a few seconds, to know what is happening here, and so, please don't try and lie to my face!".

"Also, you know that I am being kind to you by only taking you to prison, right? Your blood should belong to the Vampires at this moment, the crime of trying to kidnap children, and ones from noble families at that, is punishable by death!".

Whenever the vampires were mentioned by the young man, the middle-aged man's body started shivering from fear, it seemed like he remembered some bad experience with them. He, immediately, said, changing his tone, "Thank you, I am sorry!".

"I confess to my crime, please don't send me to those blood sucking monsters!". His voice made it clear that he was crying in fear. There was a vampire kingdom in the Rosendar continent, and it had a form of arrangement with the four human kingdoms here.

That agreement stated the following, "Whenever there is a death convict, send him to us to deal with". And so, the phrase, "Your blood belongs to the vampires!", became very famous among the people, whenever someone committed a heinous crime, such as the one this man was about to do.

Still, the young man had said otherwise. He proceeded to tie the man up, and placed him in a corner close by. The young Police Officer, then, looked at Matthew, as he said, "You're very impressive, young boy, may I know your name?".

Matthew smiled, while he replied, "Only if I get to know yours first! I think that's fair enough, right? Also, how did you find us here? It can't be that you were on patrol duty, and suddenly heard some fighting going on, right? Vin already used that excuse before!".

The young man was a little stunned. He looked at Matthew, then at the One Power floating around him, before he said, "Vin? Wait, do you mean Asvin Cavias?". Matthew nodded, and said, "Since you won't give me your name, I am Matthew Ankston! Do you know big bro Vin?".

"Know him? We're basically the best of friends! Ahm, as for my name, yes, it is, Atlas Doners! I trained with him in the Court of Saviors, it was there that we became the best of friends! We haven't seen each other for ages!".

"Until last month when we met on the streets as I was on patrol, he mentioned he had met a very special boy, a young boy who could use magic, and was very talented! He also said that, the young boy gave him the nickname, Vin!".

"I guess that's you, and, damn! That amount of the One Power is... Well, too much!". Roden nodded, he hadn't really paid that much attention to it before, especially since he was more excited to talk about books.

The young policeman named Atlas continued, as he said, "Ahm! As for how I found you, well, I heard some people talking about a boy who used magic against other kids, I followed the tracks left behind, and now, I am here!".

Matthew nodded, then said, "Well, thank you a lot for saving us! That man was going to sell us to make money! Even though I trained a lot, I still wasn't able to do much against him. I was scared! Now that I think about it, there were many other spells I could have used to win, but, I didn't!".

The young man smiled as he said, "Don't beat yourself over it, it happens, it's normal when you face danger! And, actually, you did way better than most! You didn't freeze in place, you instead fought using many spells! Could you have handled the situation better, probably, but, I think you're forgetting something very important here, you're still young!".

"To be honest, and don't tell anyone, okay? The first time I fought for real, I couldn't even lift my sword up, it was Asvin who saved me on that day, he, too, was scared, but he was still able to fight, while I only stood there shivering in fear, oh, and, I don't mean you, Charlton!".

Roden looked up at the young man, he had for real taken it that he was the one being talked about, the young man continued as he said, "I know that you can't use magic, and, well... As I told you, the first time it happened to me, I was also very scared! Now, I can fight even better than Asvin, though, don't tell him that, okay?".

Matthew smiled, as did Roden, 'He's right, it was my first real... Real battle! I did way better than when facing uncle, and that didn't last for long, I also had people to protect me that time, while this time, I was alone, and still, I fought back! But, dammit!'.

'Now that I think about it, I could have won! If only I used my spells in a better fashion, and also used the other spells I kind of forgot while fighting, that's what makes me angry about this, I need to fight a lot more, and for real!'.

Atlas, then said, "Anyway, what were you two doing here alone? You should know that this isn't a place to talk, so, why were you here? And alone at that, did you sneak out of your homes?".

The two nine-year-olds, dropped their heads, and looked at the ground. They couldn't face Atlas's piercing angry glare, and so, they just nodded their heads in silence. Atlas looked at them for a second, then sighed.

"You should know better than that! Do you now understand why this was a bad idea? You know you could have died if I didn't make in time, or worse,  get sold off to slavery! Do you think that is a good life to lead? Do you actually understand how wrong what you two did was?".

Matthew and Roden nodded again, they truly understood what Atlas had said, they had also sworn that they would never repeat such a thing in the future. 'Never, I could have been done for, and that's with me being a Magician, dammit! This was very stupid, wasn't it? Father was right, I didn't want to be followed by a guard'.

'But now, I wish I was followed by one!', thought Matthew. The young man then smiled after he heard what Roden had to say, "Can you please not tell our families about this? I swear that I won't do it again!".

Matthew then did the same. The young man named Atlas, couldn't help but smile, as he took one look to the right, where a certain someone was laughing while watching what was happening, it was of course, Gleeward.

'Hah! Big bro Glee is still the same, han? He was a fierce trainer in the Court of Saviors, and, I guess it's the same for his rival, Dolten!', thought Atlas, as he looked to the left this time around. Behind a tree, there was a person with a beard watching what was happening, while laughing as well.

'Hah! These kids actually believe they snuck out of their houses! Oh well, though I think it's cruel those two didn't intervene to save them sooner, they are right, since these two kids need to learn that what they did was recless, and wrong!'.

'I guess it's a bonus that I arrived here, now, the two kids won't have to lose trust in their families, and hold grudges against these two guards, it will be like they truly snuck out of their houses without anyone knowing about what happened!'.

Atlas sighed again with a smile, before he looked at the two boys in front of him, "Okay! I won't tell on you, but, as you promised, this isn't to be repeated, do you understand?".

Matthew and Roden both nodded their heads at the young policeman. "Now, let us go back to your houses, we'll go to the Charlton one first, since it's closer than the Ankston one!".

With that, the three left the street. Atlas ended up going to the Police Station first, he talked to one of his friend outside the building, and deliver the chained man to him. Only then, did the group of three continue forward.
