Chapter 7: The Cavias family

The Cavias family, is a noble family that resides inside Coupitia city. It is not only one of the few noble family's that have their main mansion here, but is, among the top three noble family's, and this was mainly due to it's current leader.

John Cavias, who was also the father of Asvin. He was regarded as one of the 17 pillars of the Decartium kingdom, as his strength, was herald as being great. Being put in the same position as the other 16 strongest individuals in the kingdom, meant that his help was greatly needed if a war broke out.

Not only that, but his family, the Cavias family, was one of the most influential families in the kingdom, since they owned many businesses, in pretty much every city there was. And even with that, their army, was considered among the best, true, they didn't have that many soldiers, but that didn't matter. Since the Cavias family was a firm believer in the saying, "Quality over quantity".

This family was a swordsman family, that practiced sword fighting mainly. They had their own style. Called, "The Red Lion". They also had many others proficient in fighting, like, some archers, and even spear users, but no Magicians.

They were a family that hated Magicians (Mainly the current leader), and so, for over eight years now - Since, John took over the family - they haven't had a single Mage in the family, not even the guards they employed at some times were Magicians.

It was speculated that, John, the current leader of the Cavias family, had a very bad time trying to learn magic. There were even rumors, that he was bullied, and ridiculed, for letting the Cavias family down. Since he was regarded as the worst Magician produced by any noble family for over a hundred years now.

And as such, for these last eight years , where the control of the family was left to John, he had decided not to let anyone become a Mage. As for the Mages that were present, they had slowly died over these last few years. Since they had already lived for more than 80, and 90 years. While the others resigned, and were given money as compensation.

Still, his youngest daughter, who was only 7 years old at the moment, wanted nothing more than to become like the Green Mage. He was her idol in life, after all, he had been the one who saved her last year.

Last year, the youngest daughter of the Cavias family, Rosin, was abducted by a strong fellow-suspected to be from the Red Glass gang, and was only saved whenever the Green Mage arrived.

She was out with some guards inside Coupitia city, walking and playing around, until a strong man attacked them, he took her hostage, but before he could even make his demands, he was already killed by the Green Mage, in an amazing show of power.

The young Rosin couldn't even breath, when she saw for the first time, the true strength, a Magician was capable of wielding. That was when she promised herself, that no matter what, she would become a Magician as well.

As for the Red Glass gang, and how it reacted to this, well, it wasn't a very good reaction. It's leader, nicknamed, the Red Fist, was very angry to learn that one of his strongest was killed by the Green Mage.

And he directly issued, that the Green Mage had better be careful from now on.

The Green Mage wasn't worried much, since, unless the Red Fist came to him personally, there was no one inside the Red Glass gang capable of even lifting a finger against him.

Matthew, and Asvin, were in front of the Cavias main mansion. There were two guards waiting there, they had their swords ready for any kind of attack. They were instructed to be on the ready at all times, after the kidnapping of Rosin last year.

Asvin looked at the young boy beside him, who still had that same creepy expression plastered on his face, as he sighed, and thought to himself, 'Ahh! He really has no chance of getting adopted by father, this kind of bloodlust, as well as the extreme amount of the One Power circulating around him, dammit! Oh well, I tried my best, didn't I?'.

With that, he gestured to Matthew, and started making his way inside the Cavias main mansion, after they passed by the two guards (Who had strange expressions on their faces as they looked at Matthew) they got inside the mansion.

Inside, a butler, that looked to be in his mid-fifties, greeted Asvin, then looked at the boy beside him. His body flinched a little, he played it as though he hadn't noticed this weird and scary boy, and said to Asvin.

"The two little girls you brought back, are with your elder sister at the moment, also, your father wants to speak to you! It is about the three children you brought back yesterday, he will, with everyone present, declare what is to be done about them!".

Asvin nodded, and thought to himself, 'I hope he still takes in this little guy here, since, well, our orphanage, is not the best place for a child to live! Then again, I am more afraid for the other children, than him! I mean, who would try to get into trouble with such a child?'.

He then thanked the butler, and started taking the stairs to the higher floor, as he said to Matthew beside him, "Let us go, the Manos sisters are there!". Matthew followed him, and his devilish expression deepened even more.

After about a minute, they had reached a white door, that could only be described as beautiful. Asvin knocked once, then said, "Hey, Theresia, open up, it's me!". In the next second, a maid opened the door to the both of them. She bowed, welcoming Asvin.

But, as soon as she took a look at Matthew, she made way for him, and tried to ignore him as good as she could, she felt a little afraid, and kept wondering, how a child could look this scary.

Inside, there was a white, long bed, as well as a small desk, a closet, and some other normal furniture found inside a noble's room. The sun shone through the open window on the right wall.

And on the bed, three people could be seen sitting, chatting, and having a fun time. One of them seemed to be in her late twenties, the other two were really young, one of them was only 5 years old, the other, was even younger, with only 4 years of age.

The young woman was caressing one's back, and patting the other's head. She smiled, and giggled with the little girls. She finally seemed to notice that two others had come inside, when the maid shut the door after Asvin and Matthew entered.

"So, you have come, han? What... what is this, Asvin?", asked his older sister. Theresia, looked at the expression Matthew was making at the moment. Even she, who loved children the most, and wanted to have ones of her own in the near future, was a bit scared when she saw Matthew for the first time.

Asvin shook his head, and sighed, "He's been like this for a while now, it seems like he couldn't handle, well, you know!". At this moment, the two little girls, finally noticed that Matthew was there. At first, they were a little scared, but, after a moment, they quickly rose, and went to him.

The eldest of the two, Terria, asked him in a soft and gentle voice, "What is the matter, Matt? Is something wrong? Are you hurt somewhere?", as for the youngest, Sonia, she didn't speak, and only hugged him.

'Hah! Hahaha! I must eradicate them, I must kill them, all, all of them, right? That's, what, I must do, the Manos sisters, they will, help me do it... right?', inside his thoughts, Matthew's voice became weaker with every word.

'I... I must, avenge them! But, I don't want to feel like this all the time, mom and dad, they would also, be just as scared of me, if they saw the current smile I am wearing! Ah! The Manos sisters, they are fine, good, that's good! They are the only family I have left, the only two left for me to care about! Their parents were always very good to me and my family! So, I will look after them!', thought Matthew, as slowly, his smile faded away.

His dark expression started to turn a little normal, 'I don't want to involve the two of them, let them live normally, but, I will, no matter what, achieve my dream, and the Black Tower, shall fall by my hands!', thought Matthew, as he also, hugged the little girl.

Terria joined their hug. Asvin looked at the young boy beside him, and sighed, as a faint smile appeared on his face, as for his older sister, Theresia, she looked at the three, and brushed her hair, as she approached, and asked, "So, young boy, what is your name? Mine is Theresia Cavias!".

Matthew had already let go of the two Manos sisters. He looked at the young woman who had approached him, his expression was normal, and he replied, "My name is Matthew! that's it, nice to meet you!".

'As soon as I lost my parents, I have become nameless, better like this, than to hold on to that name, it will only hurt more if I do, especially, if someone calls me by it! Dammit!', thought Matthew.
