“Wow, this world has really gone to shit hasn’t it?” Yui snickered next to me, looking at the vast view of the ruined city.
“Yep, and this is where it all began” I replied and motioned at the giant black meteor miles away in the middle of Nagano, with Yui muttering a quick ‘Obviously’ before focusing her attention on the dome.
“Y’know, I’m kinda disappointed to be honest” Yui started.
“Hm? Why?”
“It’s just that we’re basically able to live as long as we want after the meteors struck. I’m just disappointed it’s just the only two of us left here, there’s no one left” She continued.
“Your point?”
“It’s just that. Um… we’re pretty stupid y’know? I just didn’t expect us to be the last one alive” Yui replied in a shamed tone, poking her index finger together.
“Well, we just got lucky with our powers. If we didn’t get the ones we got, we probably would’ve been dead ages ago” I smiled while putting my hands against the back of my head and walking away.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Yui sighed. But right before she was going to follow me, she noticed something. “Huh?” She gasped.
“What is it?” I turned around to ask her but ended up questioning the same thing.
The meteor… It was moving?. Up until now the meteor was just there.. To remind us what caused the world to fall into this giant shithole in the first place. But now it was shining and pulsing as if something was about to burst out of it.
“Wait... is this why?” Yui was muttering to herself while I was frozen in fear. Something’s wrong with this meteor if it is able to make me frozen in fear, even most evolved Patterns didn’t scare me that much! But this... It’s on a whole other level.
“I’ve got it!” Yui suddenly exclaimed, surprising me while I was still frozen.
“W-what is it?” I nervously stuttered.
“I was wondering why there were no Patterns here. Maybe the aura from the meteor was too strong for the patterns to come near it” Yui calmly answered me.
“Then what are we waiting for!?” I ran up to Yui. grabbing her hand and practically started to beg on my knees, with tears threatening to spill from my eyes.
“Let’s get out of here!” I continued to beg.
I wouldn’t be lying if I said I wasn’t going to piss myself. I’m definitely going to shit myself!
“I would’ve done that already if I could” She started, hanging her head low as she spoke.
“But the aura is too powerful. I can’t activate my abilities” She ended, gritting her teeth.
What? We were able to come here with our powers a couple minutes ago! Why can't we use them now?!
Oh, I see, the meteor was already radiating aura but it was at a certain radius but it suddenly increased at best, at worst, we were in its radius the entire time but the aura was dormant until now.
I was even more scared now, if Yui can’t do anything then we’re doomed. I turned to look back at the meteor, it was now beginning to show cracks with bright orange and yellow beams seeping out of them. As more cracks began to form the sky was turning into red and orange colors almost resembling a beautiful sunset, but when the meteor looked like it was going to break, the sky instantly turned from a sunset to dark crimson color. Me and Yui couldn’t move because of the pressure of its aura.
Suddenly, a loud roar came from the meteor. The roar… it wasn’t like anything I’ve ever heard of before, it sounded like millions of people of all ages and genders screaming in agony. Rather than a roar it sounded like it’s crying for help. Then immediately after that scream, it’s arm, or what I assume it is at least, came shooting out through the top, not even a split second later it’s second arm came out and it began pushing itself out of the meteor.
Then it stood up and it was huge, it was about half the length of the Tokyo skytree, it was disgusting and horrifying. It’s body… was something that made me want to throw up right then and there. The body was made out of hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of humans, the worst part was that they were moving and screaming in agony. Its eyes were millions of human eyes looking around randomly at an insanely high speed.
Until it saw us.
Its 'mouths' immediately curved upwards, showing its teeth made out of human heads squished together. It then began to walk towards us, with every step causing a mini earthquake and debris flying everywhere.
“C’mon Rin! We’ve got to go!” Yui yelled at me snapping me out of my trance, seeing that I still wasn’t budging she resorted to picking me up in a swift motion and carrying me. She then jumped with all her might.
After a while, she landed on top of a building and she finally laid me down and she was gasping. Finally being able to move my legs, I went up to Yui to see if she was alright.
“I-I’m fine” She reassured me while still panting.
*THUD* *THUD*
Huh? N-no way!
The mini earthquakes came back.
*THUD* *THUD*
“How?! It was just in Nagano! How did it come to Kyoto so quickly!?” Yui exclaimed in shock and was still panting.
Then suddenly appeared right in front of us.
Te-teleportation!?
In a blink of an eye, it grabbed Yui.

“HURGGH!” “YUI!” I merely screamed her name while she grunted in pain.
“Yui!” I ran towards her and tried doing anything in my power to get her out of its grasp. The giant monster twitched its head, imitating a chuckle.
“Rin... Just leave me” Yui weakly muttered to me.
“What!? How can I leave you after all we’ve been through! I-I ca-can’t just l-leave you!” I shouted at her, furious that she would ever say that to me, but it soon turned into sobbing since I knew I couldn’t do anything. Eventually I stopped and turned to look at the monster, it was still there leering at us, clearly having fun.
“Don’t worry about me, like always! I’ll live!” She confidently announced with a grin at me.
I decided it was now time for me to leave. I took a deep breath and ran as fast as I could and as far as I could. However even when I’m running so far I could still hear her screams.
So I ran further, and further, and further.
Stopping, I arrived in Tokyo, or what I assume is Tokyo.
Panting, I dropped to my knees and turned into a crying mess.
How could I leave her like that?! We made a promise that we’d have eachothers back and yet, I still left her!
“Now now, you shouldn’t cry like that” I stopped crying after hearing the familiar voice.
“Yui?” I asked. Still sobbing. I looked at the source of the voice and it was Yui!
“Of course I’m alive silly, why wouldn’t I be?” She answered my thoughts with a toothy grin,
Walking towards me, she cupped my face and kissed me. I was surprised but I leaned into it. Why did she do that? Oh well, not that it matters, what matters is that she’s alive!
That’s not Yui.
“You’re not Yui” I pushed her away and declared with disgust.
“Oh? Well then, how did you know?” The voice changed from Yui to a creepy voice that sounded like 10 people talking at the same time.
It doesn't make sense, how she just showed up here. How she was uninjured. And how she kissed me out of nowhere.
“I see. Then there's no point hiding it now” It spoke again as if it was reading my mind. I didn't blink at all, but instantly thousands of arms grabbed my limbs at light speed.
‘I guess this is it’ I thought to myself. As the arms twisted and folded my limbs, I endured it and did not make a noise, only scolding myself for being so miserable.
“For the last human, you sure are weak” It mocked me for the last time before it all went black.
Weak.
I’m too weak.
That’s right.
I’m weak.

"Are you listening to me?!"
Huh?
