Suddenly a servant appeared on Frank's right shoulder. This servant was human and dressed in much nicer clothes than anyone else in this room. A proper butler's suit. He leaned over and whispered into Frank's ear. It was clear to me, by Frank's smile, what was being said. The "Man" who wants me has arrived.

Frank stood up, "Let's go, kid." Then motioned toward the creature. "Make sure to bring that thing with you." The creature tried his best to eat as much as possible, but he could only scarf down half of the pig.

"It is time for us to go," I ordered. Holding out my hand for him to crawl on. As the creature approached, I instinctively gave him a name, Pez. Now on my hand, I could see a black gem forming on his forehead. Pez reached with his right arm, and pulled out the gem, while still supporting his head with his left. Once it was free, he handed it to me. I took the gem, placed it on my tongue, then swallowed it. I thanked him and plopped him onto my shoulder.

I did feel a small amount of energy. However, the amount of mana I gained could barely make one of Pez's fingers.

Turning, I followed Frank into the back room of the main hall. A space that I'd never entered before. The furniture was all well made and quite comfortable looking. A proper facade to hide what was behind closed doors. Frank pointed to the back corner of the room.

"Stand over there and don't say a word."

Once in position, I suddenly had anxiety and a realization. I was waiting for an outcome to put me on a good or worse path. I briefly thought about escaping; however, it wasn't worth another attempt.

It wasn't long until the servant reappeared, entering from the opposite entrance. Announcing, "Sir Frank, I will introduce our excellent guest, Duke of Voxtek, Hendrick Voxian."

The man that entered was a class above anything I had ever seen. He wore exquisite black and gold clothing. I immediately was fixated on his large gold necklace, decorated with 9 red gems. One of them being much larger than the rest. All of this was tied together with his long golden hair.

He walked in with energy to his step, scanning the room. He spotted me with almost a yelp and said, "Is that him!?"

He was ready to run toward me but was stopped by one of the three guards behind him. Grabbing him by his cape. This guard was different from the other two. Wearing full plate armor that was silver with gold trim. He looked sternly at the Duke and expressed his concern, "Should we not finish the deal before doing anything else?"

"You're right." Sounding disappointed, "Thank you, Derek. I will attempt to lower my excitement." Hendrick walked and sat down on one of the couches. The three knights placed themselves behind.

Before Frank sat down, he spoke, "Duke Voxian, it is an honor to have you come 2 territories over. To this small Beastiary branch." And then bowed

"The pleasure is mine. After all, you are selling me something my wife dearly desires. I didn't have a choice in many ways, but the more I learned about this, boy. The more intrigued I became. Let's get straight to the point and make the agreement final. 550 large gold Voxtek coins still good for the transaction?"

"Yes, Duke. That is most generous."

The Duke gave a wave to one of his knights. The knight, in response, saluted and left the room. While in the same movement, he shared, "As my men go and collect the money. Can my tailor take measurements while we wait?"

"Of course."

The knight that left was immediately swapped by a well-dressed tailor. Who with speed and elegance. Made his way to the center of the room. Placing a box on the ground for what I assumed was for me to stand on. As soon as the tailor was ready, Frank waved me over.

He asked me to remove my shirt with a warm and older voice. Leaving me in only my shorts. Revealing in all my glory the weak and pathetic body that I had. With quite a few scars across my body. But out of all the things you would take away from seeing me. It would be my gray skin, white hair, and white eyes with a black outline. I am not like any human.

After a few measurements, the tailor turned toward the Duke. "We did bring clothes that will fit the young master."

Young Master?

"Excellent, then it's about time we headed out. Don't you think Derek?" The Duke stood up and pulled me closer, embracing me.

The confusion I had, was immediately interrupted by a loud *bang* against the wall. Frank was now against the wall, lifted a few feet above the ground. The knight named Derek was the one holding him there. Almost on cue, the knight that left earlier came through the door that led to the main hall. His plate armor was covered in blood.

"Did you take care of all of them?"

"Yes, Sir."

Derek then cut in and asked, "What should I do with this one, Sir?"

"Slade?" A man covered in black armor appeared from seemingly nowhere. "Make sure that our good friend here did not leak anything. Torture him as much as you need, and kill anyone who might have escaped. I want it all tied up, nice, and clean. I don't want to get punished by my wife."

My eyes could not believe what I had just witnessed. Not only did everything happen so quickly. But a whole boatload of questions had surfaced. How important are these people? Are there people like me with powers? That man, Slade, who appeared out of nowhere, had the same black dust that I use.

"Let's get moving, kid." The Duke said, releasing me from his arms. Strangely with a warm smile. "There is plenty of fun to be had. Once we get home."

I was ushered out through the main hall. The amount of blood was not surprising since I saw the knight who did this. His armor, covered in blood, matched this room. Not a single body had all of its arms or legs attached. Unless the head was gone instead. The lower half of this room was now a new shade of dark red. Filled with the smell of iron. What concerned me most was that this bloodbath was brought by just a single knight. I would typically have felt fear seeing this scene; however, my mind was concerned about other things. My face showed no emotion.

We made our way through the hallways. Each turn led to another. I always wondered if the place I lived was once a maze. Even though I was confused, they seemed to know where to go. We finally hit a large hallway with a large door at the end. Derek was leading the pack and was the one to open the door.

Before he opened the door. I had a sudden surge of excitement. I can't remember a time that I felt a feeling like this. I have lived here since the beginning, but now I can witness and experience what the world offers. Or at least that's the hope.

The light first cracked through the door and then was released, hitting me with full force. My eyes burned with a pain I had never experienced before. It had me gritting my teeth and grunting. Even when my eyes were closed, the light made it through my eyelids and continued the pain. Forcing me to cover my eyes with my hands. This was still not enough.

Seeing what the world has to offer will have to wait.

I could hear the Duke behind me sigh.

Two loud clicks echoed in the hallway. Then quickly after, a cloth landed on my head, shielding me from the light.

"Knight?"

"Yes, Sir?"

"Carry this boy onto the carriage. It would seem he has never seen Orion, the largest of the twin suns."

Without skipping a beat, the knight behind me scooped me up and carried me the rest of the way.

"Marius?"

"Yes, Sir?" I knew immediately who that calming older voice was, the tailor I had met a few moments before.

"It seems we will need the curtains in the carriage. I will not be staring at my cape the entire way to Voxtek."

"Of course, Master Voxian."
