I was still completely covered in the Duke's cape. As the knight was placing me on a cushion of some kind. I tried to sit up, but that was no easy task. *click* The door was closed behind me but not before someone entered. Sitting down on what I assume would be the other side.
*Sigh* "I would keep my cape on if I were you." He watched as I was shifting and rustling to try and get it off. "It would seem that you are either quite sensitive to light in general or with you being put away for who knows how long. Your eyes have not had time to adjust. From what I have been told. It would make sense that this would hinder you."
I gathered some courage and responded with a muffled voice. "You seem to know a lot about me..."
"My boy, please wait a moment." Interrupting me. "I am just as interested in you as you are hungry for my knowledge." He gave a couple of happy claps and gave a large grin. "Is this how it feels to have information that people want? No wonder people love to gossip. I am giddy with excitement. It's been ages since I could indulge in something so new."
*Bang* *Bang* "Come in, Marius." The door opened, and the old man spoke. "Duke Voxian, I have brought the curtains." He entered and promptly left. But before he closed the door. The Duke gave him an order, "Tell everyone to get moving as soon as we are ready. This is a scene of a crime, after all." *Click* The door closed.
"You can take that off now."
Taking off the cape took longer than it should have. But I was finally able to get rid of it. Handing it over to him. This revealed Pez. Who, this whole time, was holding onto my shirt with all his power. His head was moving back and forth like a newborn baby. Unable to control it. I placed him on my lap, allowing him to lie down. His massive head was giving him some trouble. Falling asleep almost instantly.
The Duke waited until I got Pez situated, "Now then, a lot has happened. You have met not only me but a few of my people. We can get into all the various details that brought us to you. But let's leave it to one question for now. All this intense fun has left me quite tired." He reached over to a small cabinet underneath him.
"Cookie?"
"Uhhh, sure." I took the cookie and placed it on Pez's body. His eyes opened, and he immediately grabbed the cookie. Devouring it in a few bites.
The Duke seemed somewhat surprised that I handed him the cookie. "Are you able to eat yourself? Or is there a reason? Although this is a question, I hope you can allow me to have another if you answer."
"I can, but it seems it doesn't benefit me in the least." I reached down and grabbed a grain of sand size gem. "This here is what I eat." Throwing it in the back of my mouth.
"I'm curious to test that, then. Since I am in a generous mood today. I will let you go first. Ask whatever you would like."
I hesitated for a moment. "What do you want from me?"
"Oh, wow! You got right to the point." He looked down and brought his hand to his face, smiling. "I can't answer you to the fullest. I can give you an answer that will give you some relief." He shifted his weight and continued. "You are potential in the flesh. A new seed has been discovered, and we want to be the ones to nurture you. So to put it simply. You are a child." His smile grew bigger. "Our child."
"My turn!" He said with a yelp. "Hm, I know quite a bit about what you are. At least, we think we do. Yet I don't know much about what you experienced. What was your life like, trapped there? Of course, since you answered a previous question, you can choose not to answer if you like."
"Boring." The Duke, in response, leaned back into his chair. "To be completely honest, I was held in a stone box for a long time. I don't need food or water. So it would be long periods between visits. I merely existed till this point." I reached down and pulled my shirt up. Revealing scars of various sizes. "Many would look at these scars, wondering what horrible torture I went through. That is so far from the truth. This was the only entertainment I had."
"Fascinating," pausing for a few seconds, "Well, I look forward to talking more tomorrow. It will be a few day's rides till we can have a proper bed. Get some rest." Shifting his weight again, he leaned into the corner and closed his eyes.

I, too, was beginning to feel the weight of my eyelids. The black and red interior was impressive and felt as great as they looked. I relaxed my muscles and lay on my side. While also placed Pez near my chest and fell asleep.
---
I woke up and attempted to open my eyes. Yet, I could not lift them. What made it even worse was the soft and warm bed I found myself. The fluffiness I was enveloped in was incredible. Finally, after a few more attempts, I could open them. My eyes weren't able to focus, but I could see movement. A door creaked open and what emerged was the old man from before.
"Master, are you alright?" The tailor's voice was still as smooth as before.
"I can't seem to move around very well. My eyes are also taking a lot of effort to stay open."
"Ah, yes. We gave you something to make the ride much easier for you."
I lifted my hand, and it fell onto my face. "The cookie." Sounding disappointed. "I didn't know that what Pez eats stays effective."
"The Duke was surprised at that fact as well. Let me bring you up to date. It's been about 3 weeks since we first picked you up. We are now in the Duchesses estate, in Voxtek. You arrived here yesterday. You have woken up 5 days ahead of schedule." He bowed his head. "Also, Young Master, let me introduce myself. My name is Marius Dane; I will ensure you have everything you need."
"Well, that's comforting," I responded. For some reason, this man kept me in a calming state of mind. It must be his voice and respectful presence.
"Please rest until the sedative has fully gone through your system. In the meantime, I will bring the small one to you." Marius left and returned with Pez. Setting him on the bed and then promptly going.
I sat up, so I could get a better view of the room and also of Pez. The room was full of furniture made from a dark wood of some kind. The walls and ceiling were white with black accents. But by far, the most impressive piece was the pure black marble floor. Inlaid with what looked to be silver veins where the marble cracked.
Looking back at Pez. I noticed that his mouth was gone again. Only his large eyes remained. Although that is the case. The crumbs all over his face said otherwise. "Have they been feeding you well?" Pez, in response, smiled and nodded his head. He clumsily made his way to me. Until he made it onto my lap.
Just like before, a gem appeared on his forehead. He plucked it out and gave it to me. Once again, I swallowed it. This time, however, the mana was far greater than the last. Leaving me feeling far better. The sedative effects had reduced to almost zero.
"I heard you woke up!" The Duke was the one to burst through the door. He didn't even wait a moment. "When do you think you could be presentable? I want you to meet my lovely wife."
"I could probably manage later today."
"That's my boy! Also, for your information, you will want to look at this as a test. If you pass, things will be all nice and dandy. If not, then all evidence of you will need to go bye-bye!" He gave a big smile. "She is not easy to please. I almost didn't make the cut to be her husband. Look at me! How is that possible?" He gave a good spin. Showing off his hair and face. He finished and moved towards the door. "See you in a few hours! No pressure!"
