Chapter 7: “Toxic Wasteland…”

1 Day Later… 

Location- Outer Layer Of The Sacred Forest

Khaos was now searching for refuge since his birthplace was almost completely destroyed during  in his battle with The Fire Wyvern King. 

After wandering throughout the outer layer of the sacred forest to search for food and shelter, he ended up finding himself face to face with one of the apex predators of the first.

"What's your business here dragon?" Asked the being that towered over him, dripping poisonous substances and releasing toxic fumes.

"I don't think you're worth telling…" Khaos responded as he noticed The Basilisk Emperor's toxic skin which was green at first, suddenly turned into a purple striped-pattern that complemented his green snake-like patterned scales. 

"What was that?" Asked The Basilisk Emperor in a rigid and deep voice barring his fangs and raising its neck frills, seemingly trying to intimidate Khaos.

The Basilisk Emperor stood around 12 meters-tall and had giant curved fangs, a petrifying gaze, and black sharp talon-like claws that could secrete their own poisons as well.

 

 "Drip… Drip… Drip…" Purple venom dripped from his fangs and giant tongue which hung from the side of his mouth as he started to release toxic fumes every time he breathed.

 

 Khaos suddenly flared his nostrils subconsciously at the toxic fumes. "Lizard… You best get out of my sight, if you wanna live another day." He said in a quiet but commanding voice.

  

"Nani?! Why isn't my poison affecting you?" The Poisonous Basilisk Emperor asked in a surprised and confused voice as shock was clearly evident by the look on his lizard-like face.

"I have a passive skill that gives me almost semi-immortality in regards to my physical form…" Khaos replied reflexively as he first thought that the poisonous breath would actually affect him, only to remember that he indeed had his unique skill called 'Immortal Body'.

  

 'Immortal Body', was a skill that gave him multiple different abilities, and one of these abilities happened to give him the power to neutralize a poison's effects and even gives him a semi-resistance to it afterward.

 

 "Seems your poison isn't as lethal to me as you thought, huh?" Asked Khaos as he mocked The Basilisk Emperor right to his face.

 

 "Hisssss! I despise you arrogant dragons from that accursed continent!" The Basilisk Emperor roared in anger as he bared his venomous fangs at Khaos and hissed loudly while running towards him on all fours.

"Do you now? Though, I'm quite curious of this accursed continent you speak of… Would you like to tell me more?" Khaos asked with a menacing grin on his face as he used his wings to fly towards the Basilisk Emperor and stopped when he finally reached his massive face.

The two monsters then started to stare each other down in a staring battle of epic proportions as they used their aura and killing intent to battle against each other mentally and spiritually.

"I'd never give you such valuable information… I'll end you here now, before you grow too powerful!" Yelled The Basilisk Emperor as he then tried to use his spiked and poison-tipped tail to land a fatal blow on Khaos which ultimately failed in the end.

WHOOOSHHHH!

CLASHHHH!

 

"In all honesty… I don't think you're capable of pulling that off right now…" Khaos said quietly as he countered and followed up by doing the same, activating his 'Chaos Dragon Scales' to further increase his defense around his body and his own tail to parry The Baslisk Emperor's.

  

Though Khaos had him beat in the strength and agility department, The Basilisk Emperor stood his ground, and wasn't even fazed at all while he showed no signs of letting up just yet.

 

 "PLOP!"

"SPLASH!"

"SPLASH!"

"SPLASH!"

"Toxic Projectiles!" The basilisk started to use its deadly skill, 'Poisonous Breath' to spit green and purple toxic projectiles at Khaos.

“Too slow…” Khaos said as he abused his agility and defensive stats to completely dodge the poison projectiles which were around 2 meters in length.

“BOOOOOOOM!”

“Tsssssssssss…”

There were around 10 projectiles that were shaped like arrows or spears that suddenly crashed into the trees nearby making them melt almost instantaneously as the projectiles were nearly as destructive as sulfuric acid.

These projectiles were made using destructive toxins that could be produced inside The Poisonous Basilisk Emperor's stomach. 

“I can create these poison projectiles using the acid produced by my stomach… They are capable of easily incinerating human flesh all the way down to their bones and even beyond that, while they’re also capable of burning off certain Demi-human's flesh with relative ease.” The Basilisk Emperor told his enemy the source of his power which wasn’t a very smart play but Khaos had already figured as much.

“I see… That’s quite the unique ability and body structure you possess.” Khaos knew these acid projectiles would be very tricky, but with his high defensive stats and his unique skill, [Immortal Body] and defensive skill [Chaos Dragon Scales], it was nothing more than a enhanced burning sensation to him.

Honestly, the acid was just more of an irritation to Khaos as he inhaled deeply, breathing in the entire atmosphere that was now filled with deadly toxins which started to make his eyes water a little.

'This guy is quite tenacious…' Khaos thought as he ended up inhaling some of it which made him cough a couple times, so he covered his nose and eyes.

 

 "So… You're still alive huh?" The Poisonous Basilisk Emperor asked in a disappointed and monotone voice.

"It seems so…" Replied Khaos and after a few seconds, the poison eventually cleared, giving him a chance to finally see as he went back on the attack without hesitation.

  

'I'll finish this with one blow…' Khaos thought as he readied himself for his next move but the Poisonous Basilisk Emperor seemed to catch on quickly to his movements and combat patterns.

"Not so fast… Toxic Breath of Calamity!" Shouted The Poisonous Basilisk Emperor as a giant stream made of a purple and green poisonous substance suddenly shot out of his mouth and was aimed directly at Khaos leaving him no time to dodge.

 

 "Clone Summoning Magic…" Khaos said as 3 identical clones made of chaos energy emerged from his body and took the brunt of the blast made from the deadly poisonous substances created by The Poisonous Basilisk Emperor.

"Flaming Crimson Meteor…" Khaos' true body said as he quickly summoned a formation which could pull a giant flaming meteor down from space. 

It seemed that Khaos was looking to crush the The Basilisk Emperor entirely with just this one spell alone.

 

"Let's see how this destructive spell can be with my own mana…" Khaos said as he then enhanced the power of his 'Chaos Dragon Scales' using half of his mana while waiting for the destruction of the basilisk to occur.

“FWHOOOSHHHH!!!”

He watched as the giant meteor fell towards the The Poisnous Basilisk Emperor with increasing speeds. 

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!"

"SCREECHHH! N-No! Why is this happening to me?!" The basilisk hissed and let out a cry of desperation as it struggled against the large meteor that was actively crashing into its body.

[7,000 Damage Had Been Inflicted!]

 

 “I'm not done yet…" Chaos said as he started to use the full-power of his skill, [Flame King's Inferno] which resembled a fiery tornado to finally cut it down at last.

[5,000 Damage Has Been  Inflicted…]

"THUD!"

After fighting for nearly a whole entire day, The Basilisk Emperor finally fell limp as it hit the ground with a loud thud making debris fly up into the air.

The only thing left behind, was half of its body which looked severely mangled and nearly destroyed.

 “Quite a tough opponent… The power I get from consuming him should be worth it.” Khaos said quietly as he then activated 'Victim Of Chaos' and did the same thing he did to The Fire Wyvern King. 

He started to use the flesh of the The Basilisk Emperor to create the pill-shaped sphere of energy, that of which only contained half of its body, while his mana core was also still in tact and was a deep orange color. 

“Gulp…” Khaos then devoured the sphere of energy whole, making him feel taken back by the sudden effects and change in his power as he felt his mana core slowly morphing.

FLASH!

[Ding! Host has successfully defeated The Poison Basilisk Emperor! Notice… All stats have been increased significantly! A few skills have been leveled up! Total mana capacity has reached 200,000! Skill acquisition processing… Extra skill, ‘[Eyes of Chaos] has been acquired! 3rd-tier magic spells [Poisonous Dragon Breath], [Semi-Poison Resistance], [Toxic Breath of Calamity], have successfully been acquired.]

[Zovi] - <<Ding!>> Congratulations! Mana has successfully entered the light yellow stage!>>

  

Upon eating The Basilisk Emperor, Khaos could feel that he finally broke through and now he was finally in the light yellow core stage.

This meant that his total mana capacity would become a lot more stable and much more pure in its quality. 

Khaos also saw that he gained some powerful new skills which he was very pleased with as he then decided to take a look at them to see what they do.

 

{5th-Tier Magic} - [Dragon God's Aura Of Chaos] - Release the raging Aura of The Dragon God Of Chaos! It will make all opponents in your presence with a weak will fear you! They'll tremble at the might of your power! Gives a %30 chance to instant kill. Increases with every level and evolution, and the more mana you use to activate, the stronger it will be.

  

[Cost: Depends On How Much Mana You Imbue Into Your Own Aura.]- [Cooldown Rate- 3 Seconds.]

{4th-tier magic}- [Toxic Breath of Calamity]: Allows the user to create 2 giant streams of green and purple poison  that can be released from the mouth or claws… Power increases with every level and evolution path.

[MP Cost: 15,000/ Cooldown Rate:7 Seconds]

 

 {3rd-Tier Magic} - [Flaming Dragons Breath]: Unleash a devastating breath of dragon made fire at your enemies! Power increases with every level and evolution path.

  

[Cost: 10,000 MP] - [Cooldown Rate: 5 Seconds]

 

{2nd-Tier Magic} - [Semi-Poison Immunity]- Gives 30% immunity to all mortal-made poisons and skills. If a poison is made from a Unique Skill, it will negate the effects of the poison by %10.

 

[Cost: 7,000 MP.] [Cooldown Rate: 3 Seconds]

 

{3rd-Tier Magic} - [Poisonous Dragon breath]- Gives you the power to create a dragons breath made of a purple poisonous substance. Power and increased destructive power will be raised accordingly with every level and evolution path.

  

[Cost:10,000 MP.] - [Cooldown Rate: 5 Seconds.]

 

[Eyes Of Chaos]- An extra skill, giving the user the ability to see an opponent's stats, energy, and abilities while also giving them the ability to sense, see and communicate with all forms of life.]

 

 [Cost: 5,000 MP] - [Cooldown Rate: 3 Seconds] -[Target Range-20 Meters]

 

 [Status Effects: Fear , Confusion, Panic, Hallucinations, Despair, Submission! If someone looks directly into the Eyes Of Chaos, it will cause them to fear for their lives, Increases at every level and evolution path.]

{4th-Tier Magic} [Flaming Crimson Meteor] - [Gives the user the ability to summon meteors from space and is only limited by the users mana, magic power and stamina…]

[MP Cost: 20,000 Per Meteor/ Cooldown Rate: 7 Seconds]

{4th-Tier Magic} [Flame King’s Inferno] - Allows the user to summon a giant tornado made of crimson red fire that reaches temperatures of over 5,000 Degrees Fahrenheit. Only limited by the users mana, magic power and stamina. Strength will increase with each level and evolution path.

[MP Cost: 25,000/ Cooldown Rate: 5 Seconds]

{4th-Tier Magic} [Flaming Mana Sphere] - Allows the user to create a giant sphere made of pure fire mana to entrap or launch towards their enemies. Only limited by the users magic power and mana and power increases with each evolution path.

[MP Cost- 15,000/ Cooldown Rate: 5 Seconds]

{5th-Tier Magic} [Clone Summoning Magic] - Allows the user to summon identical clones of their true body. The intelligence of these clones are based on the users own intellect. The identical clones can even wield the same spells as the users original body and can even replicate the users own physical strength and regeneration abilities. Usability increases with every level and evolution path.

[MP Cost: 20,000 Per Clone/ Cooldown Rate: 10 Seconds]

[Zovi]: <<Ding! Master has reached the maximum level needed to evolve! Would you like to start your evolution, (Yes?/No?)>>

“Yes…” Khaos replied quickly as he heard Zovi telling him that he could evolve but he was beyond exhausted and needed to find somewhere to sleep for the night so he settled on the large green shrubs near the outer layer of the sacred forest.

[Zovi]: <<Understood master… Evolution Commencing! Estimated time of completion: 24 Hours…>>

After his evolution began, his eyelids slowly started to become heavier and his heart rate slowed down as darkness enveloped him as he quickly drifted off to sleep.
