Chapter 1: Rebirth in a New World

"*Gasp!* Wait!" I look around frantically. What just happened? I look around me and I'm in some kinda forest? How did I get here again? This is strange I don't remember coming to a forest or the woods.

After a while I sit next to a tree pondering to myself as to how I got here. Then it hits me last thing I remember was running from some people I stole from while living on the streets,but didn't they shoot me?  Did they patch me up and leave me in the woods or something to die? That wouldn't make any sense though as they could have just killed me on the spot. 

Standing up I start walking in a random direction hopefully I can find some food, water, and shelter. I've also noticed I'm missing all of my clothes. I mean they could have at least left me my underwear but alas nothing. 

After walking for I don't know how long I heard the sound of rushing water up ahead. I ran towards it because I read once that following a river can lead you back to civilization, and that's what I want to do as soon as possible. Upon reaching the river I slow my pace to a walk. Looking down both sides of the river it just kept going far in each direction before turning around some far off trees.

Sighing I sit down next to the river. " This sucks" I say to myself as I try to think of what to do next. 

I mean what do in I do just follow the river in one direction and hope I choose the right way and didn't instead walk further from civilization. I'll have to choose one eventually I mean it's better than sitting and waiting to die. . . right?

I've never felt so dumb and helpless as I do right now. Shaking my head I decided to focus on food to eat, and find a way to boil the river water in case something up stream is contaminating the water. I mean who knows with no how unlucky I am. 

Walking through the forest with the makeshift spear I made using a kinda thick stick I found and sharpened I hoped to find a rabbit or small animal that's edible at least from my knowledge . After quiet a bit of time I was losing hope although I didn't need to worry about losing my way in the forest as I only walked in one direction not being sure if I'll find anything to eat out here.

Continuing on my way I hear a twig snap on my left. Freezing where I was I hold my sharp stick in front of me my hands shaking slightly due to me being kinda scared. I really don't want to die out here. 

Suddenly a huge wolf about 6ft on all fours and 12ft on its hind legs, it was as tall as me when I stand at full height on all fours alone burst through the shrubbery it's body have what looks like bone plates on curtain parts of itself like armor. It's jaws wide open as it tried to bite me and kill me in one go.

I raised my stick in front of myself as it's jaws effortlessly tear through the stick barely missing my shoulder as I move out of the way.

' What the hell is this thing! ' I think to myself as I don't remember an animal looking like this before. Jumping out of the way again my heart nearly beats out of my chest as I see the wolf's paw hit a tree that was behind me as the tree effortlessly splinters upon contact while also being slightly uprooted.

This it insane I'm going to die here. Turning around to run I make a break for the way I came from before another wolf jumps out blocking my way, this wolf being slightly larger than the other one.

I really am gonna die. My heart racing even harder than before then suddenly I realized something the original wolf thing I was fighting ( if you could call it that) was still behind me. Suddenly I'm violently thrown through the air smashing through multiple trees before coming to a halt after hitting the 4th one.

As I try to stand I find it's easier than I thought it would be. Infact now that I think clearer I don't have a single scratch on me and I'm not in pain either. Standing up fully I smile because now I don't think they can harm me, I've become super durable for some reason. 

Staring up ahead I see the two boney wolves walking towards me. They seem to have their heads high as if they think their better than me, and that they already won this fight. I run at them knowing now that they can't hurt me. Once I'm close enough I throw a punch as hard as I can and. . . missed. 

The wolf I aimed at dodged with it's superior speed,and before I could recover the wolf slashes at me with it's sharp claws as when it dragged across my skin sparks came off the claws though I was still sent soaring through the air. I get back up and rush at the wolf again as this time I managed to hit the wolf but it didn't do much damage as I hit the bone plating on its side causing a small dent to form on it.

(30 minutes later)

As I repeated the cycle of rushing at the wolves swinging at them and either missing or hitting them only to do minimal damage, one of the wolves demeanor changes. As the slightly larger wolf's mouth starts to gain a red hue as a bright orange light grew brighter in its throat.

' You gotta be kidding me' I think to myself before a huge blast of fire spews from it's mouth. Just before it reaches me I feel something, like my instincts telling me to do something. As the flames engulf me I realize I don't feel any of the heat I thought I would. 

"Well this just got interesting." I say as I look at the wall of seemingly pure darkness blocks the fire from reaching me.
