After Sect Master left did my sister say something to me which would be one of the most memorable memories we will ever get.
"Little Storm, let's ascend and 'borrow' the books from the immortal!" Johanna was still not agreeing to be under someone. In her life she only looked up to their late parents. Thousand years alone with her brother made her mentally change.
She wasn't arrogant and dominering at first but after she had to look after her little brother and getting stronger it happend. Too much time at the peak without having life and death situation makes one arrogant. Especially on a continent where the next strongest being was in the Transformation realm.
Johann wasn't surprised hearing his sister. He began to accept that she was feeling lonely and had much pressure when they were still young. He was glad to have her but he didn't know how to say to her that she should take it easy from time to time.
"Sister..Why? We got an opportunity from him and who knows what realm he is in? We both know that there are realms above the Ascencion realm and a world above us. We both don't know anything about it though. What if he was a being at the peak of that world who came down to play? Also, he told as not to undergo our tribulation yet as he wantwd to gift us something" Johann did have a good point, his sister didn't take it to heart though. As for the gift? Even less.
They heard stories from their parents. About the world suddenly changing and of how there weren't any immortals descending anymore. How it was nearly impossible to ascend to the upper world. They both knew that the person who made them his sect guardians wasn't from this world.
This would mean that there was a chance that the world was "open" again!
"Hmpf, as if a peak immortal who came down would open a sect. Are you scared? We have the bloodline of storm dragons! When we reach the immortal realm we will have inherted many arts! I don't believe that we can't beat him 2v1! We didn't even fight him last time! Don't tell me...you really think of yourself as a guardian of this sect and him as...sect master??!"
Johann couldn't describe his feelings. He could just shut up for the moment and see how it goes. Did his sister forget who gave them the art of chopping wood? As if Sect Master was just a low level immortal! He would explain to him after he came back. Maybe the punishment wouldn't be so hard.
After several days of preparing were they both ready. They nodded at each other and looked up in the sky. They knew that to ascend one has to give birth to a thing called soul core. The tribulation was there to temper it and to test the one who wanted to ascend.
They began to infuse their bodily energie into their soul. Harden it, making their soul a physical object. Thunderclouds were forming above them and Jovanna began to smile.
"Hahaha this Queen will come and see what is so special about the upper world! Just you wait!
Johann on the other hand got asuddenly a cold shudder. What was this bad premonition? When he saw a river forming and a gate from which the water flowed he knew why.
One thing every being which had the dragonblodline, meaningless how impure, had was a legend. The legend of the carp leaping over the dragon gate!
His sister didn't see it yet because she was laughing to herself, only when Johann reminded her did her eyes widen in fear!
"Sister... I don't think we will make it out of this alive! We actually have the cursed opportunity of the Dragon Ancestor!"
Jovanna's smile also became dry. What kind of joke was this? Did their tribulation hear her laughing? Why would this happen!
"We can't stop it now...if we flee.." They knew that once someone started their tribulation that there was no going back. If somebody intervened or tried to flee. All who were involved in it would die!
Johann looked at the gate and suddenly had a feeling. A call. His mind trembled when he heard it. Wasn't that the voice of Sect Master?
"Hmpf!....You dare?!....intervene!...Only warning!!.." He couldn't understand everything but that voice was one he could never forget. When it ended did he saw something in the clouds move before dissapearing.
He gazed at his sister before smiling wildly.
"Sister, you ought to have trust sometimes! I will see you above the gate!!" With that said did Johann transform into his dragon form and flying up while roaring.
Roaring at the river and the gate. Show me what you got! You think this will stop me! My way is long from over!
Johanna saw her brother and jumped up from shock, immediately transforming too and chasing her brother.
Couldn't they at least have some last moments as a family? And what was it about trust? Why the hell would you even roar at the tribulation!?
She couldn't understand why her brother did all of this. She just knew that if they died, they should die together!
They both flew higher and higher through the river crashing down on them. It almost looked like two snakes dancing wildly against the flow.
The pressure got stronger and stronger the nearer they swam to the gate. When both of them almost couldn't hold out anymore did a magical thing happen.
Both of them saw a man standing with his back towards them, his right hand making a chopping gesture. The thing that made the almost stop was, they knew this person!
"Sect Master?!" Both of them yelled out but the person didn't move. How could it? It wasn't him, it was the Sage Art flowing in their bodies!
"Hmm, this should do. Who thought that chopping wood was actually this hard!" What they saw was a thing which shouldn't be possible.
As Elor's hand came down from above did the river part and the dragon gate opend!! YES OPEN!
The siblings instantly halted and ooend their mouths wide. If the river wasn't parted, they would have instantly become bloated dragons. The pressure was gone and the world was still for both of them.
"Si..siste..r-r-r... Please, never make Sect Master angry! I beg you!" Jihanns first though wasn't about how something which should never be opend was open. His thoughts were about who! One thing they knew was that the dragon gate wasn't actually a gate to say. It was for testing if they were worthy to be real dragons by jumping over it.

Who would be crazy and strong enough to open it?!? There wasn't even any punishment! Also the voice which he heard before! It all made sense if Sect Master was....was... He couldn't end the thought. It was too scary!
Johanna was also flabbergasted. She came to terms with what her brother just said. Who would want to annoy someone who can do somwthing like this? If she were to know what her brother heard before. She would crawl to Elor's feet and apologize.
"Let's go sister! This opportunity was given us by Sect Master! I would also like to see if those legends are true!" Johann was the first to fly forward. They hadn't to swim anymore.
Jovanna followed behind him and they both passed the gate. When their heads came through, nothing happend. They began to worry. Was something wrong? Only when their whole bodies passed through it did they see several dragons which could only be describes as insanely huge!
Golden Dragon, Divine Dragon, Black Dragon, Water Dragon and so on! It was weird though, wasn't it told that not many dragons did pass the test? Soon they knew what was going on though.
"Hmm?? Children? Storm Dragons to boot? How is this possible?" The golden dragon raised his head and watched the two newcomers carefully. It was perplexed.
Many legends were told about the dragon gate but kone of them were the truth. The dragon gate was an opportunity, yes. It wasn't like this from the start though.
The Dragon Ancestor made it as a...resting place. A graveyard for the weary souls, to rest until the time came. When he came to understand that it wasn't perfect did he fuse it with the tribulation laws. It was just that, it was the tribulation laws of the Upper World!
Johann and jovanna were scared shitless. All dragons before them had at least 10 claws! There were even several dozens which had 12!!! It was said that the Dragon Ancestor was a 13 Clawed Dragon! 12 claws would mean...
One by one did all the dragons slowly lif their heads and became confused. What the hell? Why were two three-clawed storm dragon children here?
The golden dragon was the first to speak up. "Little children, how did you come here? Only ten-clawed dragons and above can come here. How did you two even survive in the Upper World?"
Jovanna was faster with coming to her senses. She was overjoyed! These were ancestors of her dragon race? Beings at thw top of the world! She may not understand the question the two of them were asked but she explained her ordeal none the less.
The faces of the dragons became grimmer by he minute she talked. What world? Which tribulation? What sect master did OPEN the gate?
They didn't think for one second that she told them the truth. Most even began to fume out of their nostrils. Dare to slander and lie to your ancestors?! Before they could speak up and some even wanted to beat those two up, was a monotose voice heard.
"These children tell the truth, I had the opportunity to glimpse at the world. It...changed..that may be the reason why after such a long time..no new ones came." When the dragons heard this voice they instantly trembled and made themself as small as possible. The Ancestor!
The siblings didn't know at first who this voice could belong to but seeing the reaction of these majestic pure dragons they shivered.
Above them was a rift opening in space, no it was as if the world was splitting itself. Their whole view was covered in a silver eyeball!
"Do not worry young ones. Truth be told, this place isn't what you think it is. Now that you are here though. Let us give you a gift. I just ask of you to look after the dragon race in the outside world." The world began to shine and the siblings vanished from the spot.
The eybal slowly closed before saying with the same monotone voice it had. "Soon, soon our time will comw. It just seem that somebody did turn on us. But to think that it awakend.....what will happen this time?"
When the dragons heard those sentence they began to tremble. Not out of fear no, they trembled from excitement. Roars began to fill the white world which would let anyone tremble who would have the chance to hear it.
When Johann and Jovanna came to themself again on the forlorn Continent they were overjoyed.
Immortal realm! This happens instantly vanished though when they received the gift of the Ancestor Dragon.
What was it? Cultivation arts of every branch from low to high. Knowledge of other beings, of the three worlds! They thought that there only was a upper world! Could it be they were in the lowest one? Why was their world so wrong from the ones they got knowledge of though?
When they browsed through their newfound knowledge they became more and more stiff. They were only False immortals? And what were those cultivation arts which were blocked in their soul core?
"Brother...do you also not have access to the higher cultivation arts?" Jovanna was a little bit sad, didn't higher cultivation arts mean faster progression? Why were they blocked?
Johann didn't browse the cultivation arts, he was browsing the cultivation stages and world information. He peeked into it when his sister told him the news.
"Yes...just sister..you would be best to feel the information about cultivation realms and what the chopping wood technique really is..." The reason he browsed through all of that info was simpel. What kind of realm was their sect master at. The conclusion he made terrified him.
Several seconds later did his sister stand up with a robotic like movement.
"I'm going back to chopping wood. If Sect Master returns tell him...no..just say a good word for me dear brother."
Jovanna vanished from the spot leaving a smirking Johann behind.
"I told you sister..don't anger Sect Master..."
