After seeing Lucas standing still, Felip Cai was a little agitated when he felt a formidable aura..
Just looking at Lucas' eyes, he felt that he was looking at the eyes of a predator. Chills were rushing to his veins as his system was rampaging from the fear.
However, his pride still kept on raging, wanting to defeat Lucas in front of everyone. He can't afford to humiliate himself too much in this crowd.
"H-Ha! I guess you have a treasure that doesn't require cultivating. Good for you, but that won't work when I let you taste my family's martial technique!" That is at least he could do to raise his image. A weak and a mortal was able to corner him? It is unacceptable!
Just as Felip was still a Warrior Spirit Realm cultivator, he still didn't had the well grasp about disparity. He let his emotions overtook his rationality.
As the rage of Felip resounded throughout the whole area outside the building, everyone who was watching expressed their disdain for Lucas.
One by one, they mocked Lucas, who seemed unaffected by their sneers. He was just smiling, keeping his composure while activating a strengthening spell on his body.
'I really want to try this cultivation and try to resist using magic. But this situation needs my safety. I'll make an exception other than using flight.' He thought to himself, trying to reason with his own decisions.
For some reason, he wanted to hide the fact that he could fly and be considered an expert. For him, it is too fake and bothersome. So, since he can handle things like how the guy before him does it, he is saving his underhanded card.
"What a scumbag. So he was just using a treasure all along."
"There's really no way for a mortal to have that strong pressure. Kill him, Felip Cai! Let him taste the rage of cultivators!"
"I pity him. I think he's just getting his confidence from his family. I bet that his family can't save him right now. He's going to die."
It was like a drilling noise to Lucas. But it really didn't affect his composure. After living thousands of years, he learned how to keep his mental stability.
Every offender would have died at his hands in his previous world if it hadn't been for that.
However, there is someone at the back of the commotion. The manager of the shop was watching them, hesitating whether to intervene.
He is afraid of this commotion. Not because of Felip Cai, who comes from a wealthy background, but of the mysterious individual — Lucas — who doesn't budge from their claims.
The manager had been observing them from the beginning. He could not intervene because he felt inferior looking at Lucas.
'There's no way that he is just a mortal. No mortal can keep up with the pressure coming from Felip Cai's cultivation base. This must be an expert with a high cultivation base. That's why we can't feel his cultivation base! There's a huge disparity between us! Forget about Felip Cai. I must not offend this expert!' The manager thought whilst crying inwardly.
"Aren't you embarrassed that it just took me one swing to throw you?" Lucas mocked him with a smirk on his lips.
Felip just gritted his teeth in frustration. He hissed once more before sending another attack. "Let's see if you can keep up with our martial technique. If you can stand still and keep your treasure still, I will call you master!"
Feeling confident in himself, Felip thought that there was nothing he could lose in his bet. Even though he was unaware of Lucas's strength, he was sure that Lucas was mortal since there was no cultivation base he could sense from him.
Gathering energy in his fist, he embraced his right hand before rushing again to Lucas.
"Majestic Crimson Trade Strike!" He exclaimed, after releasing the energy he gathered from his fist.
Lucas widens his eyes not in surprise, but in intrigue because he can't feel any mana with it. From his perspective, it looks like an offensive spell.
"That's right! Be surprised!" Felip laughed when he saw Lucas's widening eyes.
But after his early celebration, when the attack got near Lucas, pressure exploded as the attack hit on something.
Dust covered the area as little smoke was also visible from the aftermath. The door of the building was almost destroyed.
"He's dead for sure."
Everyone concluded that Lucas would receive an injury from it. However, when Lucas's position started to settle down, they were shocked out of their minds when they saw Lucas, standing still with a barrier spell covering him.
"A-A formation?!" Everyone exclaimed in surprise when they saw the bluish light from the arc dome that covers Lucas.
Though it was also not the best move to use a barrier, Lucas thought that he might lighten up the situation with another spell. Just hearing it from Felip, he thought that he could reason out that he had a treasure since Felip clearly speculated on him using a treasure.
And as for that term 'treasure', he thought that it was the same as artifacts, or rather, artifacts themselves.
But the outcome was not expected. It seems like they thought of it as a formation, and he already knew some basic information about it.
Formations or arrays show different effects depending on the symbol and characters made and being infused with spiritual energy.
"He created a formation in just a few seconds!" The manager was also astonished when he saw Lucas unscathed. Furthermore, he was still on his ground, didn't budge from the pressure!
However, the manager inspected Lucas's barrier. "It's not a formation. I can't feel any familiar energy from it!" He added.
'This is really an expert! He is beyond what is common!'
Meanwhile, Lucas, who was seemingly irritated by it, squinted his eyes at the trembling Felip.
"Are you done? If you are, let me give you a taste of my attack too." Lucas coldly said while fixing his robe.
But before he could receive a reply or another mocking from Felip, he saw him running away from the area.
Lucas scoffed as he gazed at the audience, "Now scram. Don't irritate me with your faces." He demanded, and immediately, everyone ran away from him.
"Now… the mess is finally settled." He mumbled before going back to the shop he was about to enter earlier.
He saw the guards that didn't intervene in the commotion. As he knew that that person earlier was an arrogant young master of a wealthy background, he didn't take a grudge against the guards since he knew that they were just keeping their lives intact.
When one of the guards trembled, he just tapped its shoulder and uttered, "It's okay. Nothing to be guilty of or scared of. You were just powerless." He smiled before continuing his steps.
Customers in the building were now wary of him. They just saw a showdown of prowess. They can't afford to offend him too.
Moments later, the manager approached Lucas with a smile of enthusiasm on his face.
"W-Welcome to Golden Pavilion, Senior!" The manager greeted him.
'Senior?' He raised his eyebrows. 'So he must be thinking that I am a powerful cultivator too, huh?'
"The name is Lucas. Don't call me senior; it bothers me." Lucas said while venturing his eyes inside the shop.
The shop was selling different kinds of resources for cultivation. There are also different types of techniques displayed on shelves.
Lucas nods, as he was already mesmerizing himself in the shop.
This gives him a different vibe. Although he practiced magic for his whole life, he hadn't visited any shops similar to this.
As resources are just general in his world, there are no present stores that sell spells apart from libraries.
"Yes, Young Master Lucas."
Lucas raised his eyebrows again but didn't bother to correct it. He just ignored it and continued walking.
"I'm looking for a cultivation technique. Where is it displayed?" He asked.
But before the manager could answer, Lucas asked for his name, baffling him.
"I-I am called Oliver Xieng, Young Master," Oliver answered.
"I see… Oliver. Then, I will take my time in searching for a cultivation technique." Lucas said.
"Please do so." Oliver bowed before leaving Lucas and ordered the servants around to please Lucas since he couldn't keep up with the pressure around him.
And since he knew that Lucas was a reasonable person, he wasn't agitated by the idea that maybe if he gets offended, he will vent out his anger at the shop.
As there were more servants around Lucas, trying to please him with some suggestions. He didn't mind it as he was not an expert himself. At least their suggestions could help him decide on what he should buy.
Cultivation techniques are costly, as the lowest price was for a Spirit-rank technique.
Lucas just awkwardly swallowed his saliva since he also doesn't know the currency of this world. He can't waste his money on different items.
Looking for more techniques, he realized that he must not think of it lightly. Although its price was high, he must have had a high-quality technique that would help him heavily in his cultivation.
Techniques like this are really a foundation, so while he thinks about walking down the cultivation path, he must divide the aptitude of techniques he'll learn in the future.
"So this one helps your aptitude in Sword Auras. However, I don't know anything about martial arts, so I guess I should find more of a neutral technique." He mumbled after reading some description of a technique he had just picked.
Since he remembered that the servants were following him, he looked at one of them and asked, "Is there a cultivation technique that doesn't help you in any aptitudes or something? More of a general technique."
The servant ponders for a few seconds before nodding. "There is, young master. It is more of an advancement of the basic technique that can be sold anywhere. I will get it for you. Please wait for a moment."
A few moments later, the servant came back with a technique in his hands and handed it to Lucas.
Lucas read the description of the technique and smiled in delight. "This is really a general technique.." He mumbled.
