"I will buy this," Lucas said, making the servant surprised in disbelief.

Who would buy a bland technique? If not for his status, the servant would have expressed her thoughts despite the handsomeness of the person in front of her.

Then, Lucas went back to the counter and presented the book he chose.

The cashier was also surprised by his pick. Even if he doesn't know what use Lucas will have, no wealthy person would buy a bland technique.

Shrugging it off, the cashier replied with a smile to Lucas. "That will be 50 gold coins, Young Master." The cashier announced.

"Wait."

However, Oliver intervened before Lucas could take the money from his pocket.

"Let the shop offer this to you…" He looked at the technique and was almost dumbfounded by his choice.

"This… are you sure you will take this Young Master? Although I don't know to what use you will put this technique, no one chooses this technique nowadays. Who offered this to Young Master?"

The servant hesitantly raised her hand when she saw Oliver's irritated face.

"It was me, Boss."

"Y-You!..." Almost shouting, Lucas intervened before he could scold the servant.

"Don't mind it, Oliver. I knew the value of this technique, and that's why I chose it. Don't scold her for that." Lucas said in an authoritative tone.

Oliver, on the other hand, was speechless for a brief moment, then sweetly smiled before continuing.

"Of course, Young Master. I was just doubting that maybe my servants were not doing a great job. Please forgive me if it bothers you." Oliver pleaded.

"Whatever." Lucas said before pausing for a short time and adding, "I will take this. So here are the 50 gold coins."

Before the cashier could receive it from Lucas, Oliver intervened once again.

"Please, Young Master. It's on the house. There's no need to pay for it."

Lucas raised his eyebrow for a moment and pondered on why this person in front of him was eager to please him.

Although he knows that people will naturally ass-kiss those who have power, he still can't fathom why they would do it. He wasn't being unreasonable, so there was no use for it anyway.

He just sighed before nodding.

"Okay. I won't be humble about it. Thank you for this." Lucas said.

"You're welcome, young master."

"By the way. Where can I buy clothes?" Lucas asked.

Even though he was okay with his clothes, Lucas was still bothered by the uniqueness of his garments from the mass.

Because of that, people are always gazing at him since he wears strange garments.

"There is a nearby tailor shop at the corner. They sell beautiful garments and I know that young master would love it."

"Sighs… don't mind it. I want average clothes since I am scarce on money."

Oliver pondered for a moment before continuing to answer Lucas' demands.

"If you say so. There is an average shop near the slums, to the west of here."

"I see… So I guess I will take my leave. And I won't forget about this technique. If there's something I can help you with in the future, I will do it if it's within my power." Lucas uttered those words before walking out of the building.

"Even though I really don't mind, I won't be humble about it, Young Master."

Lucas just smirked before nodding and leaving the building.

As the personnel of the shop was left by Lucas, they just sighed in unison when they finally lost his presence.

Who would've thought that they'd meet a strange expert on this day? However, as it is more common for them to act arrogantly, Lucas was different from them.

Lucas finds his way to the shop immediately. Although people were really looking at him strangely, he didn't mind it and just entered the shop.

From a normal perspective, this place is average. However, for wealthy people, this place is trash.

The shopkeeper, who was behind the corner, trembled in nervousness, feeling agitated by Lucas' presence.

Not just because he looks wealthy, but also because he looks like a fashion designer who creates different fashion styles.

Although she was unsure of his identity, she gathered her courage and greeted Lucas.

"W-Welcome to our humble shop." The shopkeeper said.

Lucas just nodded and showed 5 gold coins. "What do you think this money can afford?"

The shopkeeper misinterprets Lucas's words. She thought that Lucas was going to buy her shop, making her tremble.

"Don't worry. I'm not here to show off. I was just asking since I don't know if I can buy enough garments with this."

The shopkeeper widens her eyes in surprise and looks at Lucas once more.

Although Lucas seems majestic, he was ignorant of the currency and didn't know how to spend it.

The shopkeeper smiled before answering him.

"You can buy 10 robes at the maximum. Since 50 silvers are equivalent to average clothes, you can buy 10 in one set."

Hearing that, Lucas finally decided to buy what the shopkeeper said.

The shopkeeper presented the clothes immediately.

"Do you have a dressing room? I want to change right away." Lucas said as the shopkeeper nodded and pointed to a room.

When Lucas finally entered the room, the shopkeeper sighed in relief that she wouldn't be bombarded again by those rich businessmen.

Moments later, Lucas left the room wearing the robes he bought.

It was just a grey and non-vibrant robe, enough to fit on his slim body.

He sighed after realizing that his body was really resembling his past self. As he put the other items in a storage spell, he thanked the shopkeeper before asking her another question.

"Where can I cultivate?" He asked.

Even though she was speechless looking at Lucas, who silenced the cheapness of her clothes, she was composed in front of him and willingly answered his questions.

"There is a cultivator stop near the gate, Sir. Maybe you'll like it there." She answered.

Lucas nodded and left the shop, heading straight to the building that the shopkeeper mentioned.

Now that he is wearing different clothes, he was still confused about why people are looking at him, especially women every time he passes through the streets.

He just scratches his nape before finally reaching the building for a cultivator.

The sign says, "Cultivators' Haven Stop." Not bothered by the name of the 5-story building, he entered.

A staff greeted him immediately once he entered. However, when the staff saw his average-looking clothes, his eyes were filled with disdain.

"Welcome." The staff said in a limited tone, as if unbothered by Lucas's presence.

Lucas knew what the staff is acting, but he just didn't mind it since he really doesn't like arguing with thick heads.

"How much for a day?" Lucas asked.

"Though we sell service by hours, if you buy for a day, it would be 24 gold coins since 1 gold coin for every hour. Can you pay for it?" The staff asked with a mockery in its tone.

Lucas just shook his head inwardly before taking 30 gold coins.

"30-hours."

The staff was speechless by Lucas's showoff. Although he was thinking that he could at least pay for an hour, he didn't think that Lucas could pay for 30-hours.

Bothered, the staff just took out a key from the counter and handed it to Lucas. "P-Please have room 9. It's to the east of the building." He pointed to a corner to the right of Lucas.

Lucas just nodded before walking straight to his room with a smirk on his face, as if satisfied by the outcome.

When he entered the room, Lucas noticed that there were symbols on the floor and walls. Realizing it was familiar and of use to him, he concluded the purpose of the symbols.

"So, this is the formation they are talking about. Perhaps its effect is to gather the spiritual energy since I can feel the energy denser here and the soundproof mechanism too." He mumbled.

After thinking, he took out the technique and studied it for a minute. After having a grasp of it, he mumbled the words that he needed to remember when cultivating. After a few seconds, when he can remember all of it, he just continues to chant it in his mind while meditating in lotus form.

'This effect is quite similar to amplifying, huh? Though mages can only multiply their capacity by practicing daily, there is also a way to do it straight in a day, and it's by amplifying using the resources.'

Mages back in his world also use monster cores and other resources to widen their pool of possessed mana. Their only method is not meditating but amplifying their spells through the monster core.

When they activate a spell using the monster core, it converts into their mana and is unconsciously absorbed by their core.

Similar to this, Lucas thought that cultivation was just an advanced method of their method back in his world.

"Hm… I think I should seal my core if I want to get serious about cultivation." He mumbled after absorbing plenty of Qi from his surroundings.

He also concluded that things that might happen if he leaves his core widely open when he gathers plenty of different energy.
