Chapter 13: Chapter 13

All Naruto did was copying Rock Lee to the teeth. When Rock Lee was at the 500th repetition of the pushups Naruto was still lying on the ground gasping for breath.

 

He was still recovering from the exhaustion he got after doing the 100th pushup. At this pace, Naruto knew that it would be very difficult for him but the image of Haku's pretty face became his drive.

"Lee as you can see...I can't do pushups anymore. Can we do some other exercise...I don't want to stop just because I can't do any more pushups." Naruto said.

"That's the spirit Naruto! I was about to say that aswell. Let's go for a 50 km run" Lee said and started running. Naruto also followed behind him.

Of course, during this just like Lee, Naruto was also not utilising his chakra in order to maximize his body's growth.

After a long exhausting run. Naruto somehow managed to complete 25 kilometres before collapsing while having Haku's image in mind. If it was not for this he might have collapsed long ago.

Seeing this Lee brought Naruto back to the training area and rested him on the tree as he focused on hitting a wooden bar to improve his fighting techniques.

After a while Naruto finally regained consciousness. The setting sun told him that it was already evening. He saw the figure of Lee still practising and went towards him to thank him.

"Thank you for today Lee and I apologise for being a burden in your training," Naruto said.

"It's alright Naruto. I was the same...in fact much worse at the start. We improve with time." Lee said.

Naruto nodded at him and went back towards the village. While walking through the forest he tried walking up on one of the tree trunks and found that he was easily able to do so.

This brought great joy to Naruto as this meant that the training of his shadow clones did bore fruit. While Naruto was on this page he thought of taking using a weapon.

The original Naruto didn't have one except for a Kunai...but didn't Sasuke have one. He kind of liked how a Katana looked so Naruto decided to take a Katana for himself.

The next day while taking in the mission. Naruto conveyed his thoughts to Kakashi who accepted his request and told him to wait a few days so that he could get one out of the weapon armoury since all the weapons distribution in the leaf village was highly regulated.

A few days passed by and during these days Naruto didn't stop his training with Lee and had improved quite a lot. All the muscle tears he had recovered very soon after he circulated the chakra throughout his body. This was obviously something which Lee couldn't do because he couldn't do ninjitsu as a result he had to train for years in order to gain his current physique.

Lee knew about this but wasn't demotivated by it instead the fire to improve in his heart only got stronger as he started seeing Naruto as his competition.
