Samantha thought that it was a bit weird with the way how he stopped her but she just brushed it off.

"Oookayyyy…" She raised her brows and pursed her lips as she moved to the other side of the table and sat down.

Daniel went to his desk and pressed a button from the machine.

*beep*

"Take the box and put it in my trunk." He released the button and faced Samantha again.

"You're taking that much work at home?"

"It's a… big project." He gulped and sat down next to her on the sofa.

"I see. You have been very busy lately, you need to rest once in a while."

"There's just some… things that I need to take care of, I promise I won't be as busy after this." He held her chin and pressed his lips on hers.

"You better."

"By the way, I went to see my parents earlier today and mother wants us to visit for dinner soon. When are you free?"

"Mmm… If you're also available, I guess we can go this Friday?"

"Friday sounds good."

The door opened and Assistant Ahn came in. He excused himself and picked up the box from the table. As he lifted it up, he glanced at his left and saw Daniel looking back at him.

He lowered his gaze and faced Daniel, he figured that he couldn't pass up the opportunity to tease him. "Boss... are you... going to start the project tonight?"

"I don't need to tell you that." Daniel's expression turned dark and it made Ahn freeze on the spot. "Assistant Ahn, you seem to be very tired lately. Maybe you'd like to go on a very long vacation?"

He swallowed, regretting what he just said. "I-I'm okay, Boss. I-I love working and being busy." He stuttered and then left the room in a hurry.

A couple of days later at Silent Heights Prison.

The sun was shining brightly in the blue sky and rays of light entered the small opening of the window of the jail cell. There were six people inside and all of them wearing the same jumpsuit clothing. The only identification that these people have are the four numbers on the patch of their uniform.

Heavy footsteps were heard followed by the clinking of metal and the door of the jail cell opened.

"3176, you have a visitor." The prison officer looked at the man on the corner of the room.

He was sitting with his knees up, his arms wrapped around them. It had only been about a week and he was already about to go crazy from being trapped in the small room together with five other men.

When he heard his number, he raised his head to see the officer. He stood up and reluctantly walked out of the room.

"Who is here to see me?" He wondered as he was sure that his wife and son didn't want to see him after learning about what he did.

The prison officer remained silent as he cuffed the wrists of the man.

He was brought to a private room where there was a glass window, separating him from the other side where the visitor would come in.

He sat on the chair and just then a tall and attractive man appeared on the other side of the glass in front of him.

They both picked up the phone line and his visitor spoke first.

"How are you, Mr. Nan?"

"Are you mocking me, President Cho? I'm literally like a sitting duck inside this hell hole."

Sung Nan had lost weight, his beard had grown and he looked a lot older than the last time that Daniel had seen him and that was only a week ago.

Daniel chuckled lightly. "I reckon that you already know why I came to see you."

"You have read my message and now you want to know more."

The truth was, Daniel had been wanting to go where Sung Nan was being held but the investigation took longer and because he had a history of escaping and hiding from the authorities back when he became a wanted man, he wasn't allowed to have any visitors earlier.

It was only that day that Daniel was allowed to see him.

"I don't want to waste my time, Mr. Nan. You know me, I could be a very impatient person." He looked at him straight in the eye.

Sung Nan returned his gaze with a slight smile. "Ah… now you are the one who needs something from me. Isn't it funny how the tables are turned, President Cho?"

Clenching his teeth, Daniel's eyes were fierce when he spoke, "Let's cut to the chase. I don't have all day, Mr. Nan."

"You don't but I do. I have all the time in the world now, thanks to you."

"You did that to yourself."

Sung Nan shrugged, "In exchange for the little information that I have, what can you do for me?"

"That depends on what information you have. If it's worth it, I can make your life in this hell hole a little bearable."

Sung Nan thought about it. Since the very first day that he came to prison, it had been very difficult. He was ordered and pushed around, everyone was a bully to the newbie especially because of the crimes that he committed. A lot of the prisoners hate corrupt people and the higher your crime is, the higher your rank is among the prisoners.

Sung Nan was new and his crimes were hated so the prisoners who have done a lot more crimes and who were more dangerous bullied him all day long. It was definitely hell for him.

He looked back at the man on the other side of the glass and sighed, "Honestly, I don't know very much about who the person is as I also haven't met the guy."

"You haven't? How do you know it's a guy?"

"That's the thing, I don't really know if it's a man or a woman."

"That's not helpful."

"All I know is that he isn't from Country K because he had an accent. He used a voice distortion but the way he speaks is quite unique."

"What else do you know?"

"I hired someone to track the transaction of the money that he sent because I was curious to know who he was. After all, he sent a lot of money! But we came up empty as it only showed that it came from an offshore account which was untraceable."

'How meticulous.' Daniel thought and then asked some more, "How exactly did this person contact you?"

"A package was delivered on my doorstep one day, I was even surprised at how he was able to find me."

"What was in the package?" Daniel's brows furrowed.

"Inside was a cellphone and some documents. And right after I opened it, I received a phone call from that person. He gave me instructions on what to do and told me not to ask any questions. He said that as long as I do that, he will keep sending me money."

Daniel thought about what he had just learned. 'Who could possibly be after Samantha who has this kind of financial capacity? The person was even too careful for using an untraceable offshore account. Is it someone who has a grudge against Samantha? Or is it someone.... we both know?'
