Friday

"Honey, is my dress okay?" Samantha walked out of the closet and placed her hands on the side to pose for Daniel.

She had on a white knee length dress. It was the kind of dress that was figure-flattering and it featured a lace pattern all over it putting a feminine look which made the whole dress look more elegant. She paired her dress with metallic gray heels to complete her outfit.

As soon as Daniel saw his woman, he instantly brightened up and a smile formed on his face.

"Wow Honey, you look absolutely gorgeous." He opened his arms, extending his hands as if he was waiting for her to come to him.

Samantha smiled at her man who always looked very neat. Even with a simple white shirt and black pants, Daniel looked very charismatic.

She came to him and allowed him to wrap his arms around her waist. She lifted her chin and puckered her lips waiting for his kiss in which Daniel gladly gave her what she wanted.

Samantha stared at his man and Daniel wondered, "What are you thinking about?"

She smiled and blush stained her cheeks making her look more lovely. She chuckled, "Nothing. I was just thinking about how I have so much self-control for not keeping you locked up in the house and not let any woman see how handsome and irresistible you are."

Daniel leaned his head back as he laughed and Samantha giggled at her own confession. He was very much amused by what his fiancée had just told him. It was even funnier for him because he had always thought the same. How he wished he could keep Samantha for himself only.

An hour later at the Cho Family Estate.

The couple had just arrived and when they entered the house, they were welcomed by Daniel's parents.

"Samantha, it's so good to see you again. You have gotten even more beautiful since the last time I saw you. Look at you!" Mrs. Cho embraced and gave Samantha a kiss on the cheek. She was very fond of her friend's daughter.

"You also look very lovely, Auntie. Have you done something new? You look younger and glowing!", Samantha returned the compliment and Mother Cho touched her face with both of her hands.

"Really?", she giggled before she slapped Daniel on his arm. "You should learn from Samantha! You rarely give me any compliments."

"Mother, do I always have to remind you of how beautiful you already are", Daniel spoke as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Mrs. Cho and Samantha then exchanged winks.

Daniel greeted his father with a brief hug and Samantha also gave him a polite greeting. Liam came to join them and they all went to the living room to have some drinks before their dinner started.

"Auntie, thanks for the oysters that you sent the other day. It was still fresh and you sent a lot. We made a few dishes with it, it was very delicious!" Samantha exclaimed.

Daniel drank from his glass of whiskey and glanced at his mother who had a smile on her face as she also glanced at her son.

"What oysters? You bought them oysters? What about me? You know that I love oysters!" Liam rained his mother with questions.

Mrs. Cho ignored Liam and faced Samantha, "Really? Did Daniel eat a lot?"

"Yes, he ate a lot that night." Samantha nodded, her face brightened with a smile.

"Mom why are you ignoring me? Have you forgotten that you have another son who loves oysters? No fair!" Liam breathed out in a huff and pouted.

"Oh shush! You don't even have a girlfriend yet! You don't need oysters!"

Liam raised a brow and had a perplexed expression on his face when he asked, "What does that have to do with it? You're weird, mom. I can eat oysters alone! I don't need anyone to eat it with me!"

"Fine! I will buy plenty for you tomorrow! Stop whining."

Samantha also thought that it was weird for Mrs. Cho to give a reasoning like that. But she didn't give it much thought and just laughed with the group.

The Cho Family's butler came in the living room and informed them that dinner was ready.

Just as they were about to head to the dining room, a visitor arrived.

Mr. Cho asked their butler to check who was at the door.

Moments later, footsteps were heard from the entryway and an old man with a cane appeared.

He had wrinkles on the corner of his mouth and eyes but the old man still looked nice-looking despite his age.

When he came to the living room, everybody was surprised for his sudden arrival.

"Father!"

"Grandpa!

It was Daniel's father who approached the old man first. "Father, what are you doing here? I thought that you were going to arrive next week?"

"What? I can't come and visit my son?" The old man grunted.

"That's not what I mean, I just thought that it would have been nice that you informed me so that I could pick you up from the airport."

Grandfather Cho scanned the room and saw the rest of the people who were present, his daughter-in-law, his two grandsons, and Samantha.

It has been a long time since the two of them had last seen each other. And as soon as their eyes met, Samantha felt nervous that she subconsciously held Daniel's hand and squeezed it.

Knowing why she was like that, Daniel squeezed her hand back gently as if he was telling her not to worry.

Mrs. Cho came over and greeted her father-in-law while Liam and Daniel with Samantha also followed.

The old man was quite cold with Samantha although he didn't really show it that much. She still felt a little hurt that his views of her and his attitude towards her changed all because she was the granddaughter of his then love rival.

"You came just in time, grandpa. We were about to eat dinner, come and sit beside me." Liam excitedly ushered his grandfather towards the dining room.

Everyone followed and sat on their places at the table. And as usual, their meal was extraordinary. Daniel made sure that Samantha was eating properly so he placed a lot of food on her plate.

After dinner, Samantha stayed with Daniel's parents and Liam in the gazebo at the garden. While Daniel stayed inside the house as Grandfather Cho asked him to come up to the study.

When they entered, Daniel went to his father's shelves where he kept his alcohol. He poured some on two glasses and gave one to the old man.

Daniel already had a feeling about what his grandfather was about to say. It was probably about Samantha and her grandfather.

"How is the company going?" He walked towards the window and looked at the beautiful view outside.

"Grandpa, I know that's not what you really want to talk to me about."

The old man scoffed, "Stop being smart. Very well, I will arrange a wife for you.. You have to stop seeing that woman."
