Just as Nathan Yun entered the room and told Daniel about his findings, Samantha groaned and stirred in bed making both men look her way. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Daniel's worried expression — he had loosened his tie and rolled up his sleeves.

"Ah… Daniel?" she muttered, noticing that she was in an unfamiliar place but realized right away that she was in the hospital.

Daniel sat on the bed next to her and leaned closer, "Yes, honey… I'm here. You're awake."

Samantha sat up with his help and leaned on his embrace, she was feeling so glad to see him as soon as she opened her eyes. "What happened?"

"You fainted. Do you have any idea what made you fall ill?" he asked.

Shaking her head, she can't think of anything that would make her sick, "I… I was going to get in the car when I suddenly felt dizzy. I don't know what happened after that."

Stroking her back, Daniel sighed and did not know what to do for her, "Dr. Yun said that you have anemia. Were you always anemic?"

She looked up to her husband and asked, "Dr. Yun?"

"Hi, Sam," Nathan spoke from the side. "How are you feeling?" he asked as he walked a little closer.

"Nathan…" she called and sat up right, "I have a slight headache but it's nothing that I can't handle. You said I have anemia?"

Nodding his head, Nathan looked over the paper in his hand and explained, "You don't have enough healthy red blood cells in your body which is responsible for carrying oxygen to the body tissues. Since you are anemic, you feel more tired and weak."

"Why didn't you tell me that you were not feeling well these days?" Daniel asked, holding her hands tightly, warming them as they were quite cold.

"I didn't think that it was that serious. I've been sleeping late recently because of planning the holidays so I thought it was only because I needed more sleep."

"Anything, honey… Even the slightest pain that you feel, you have to tell me," he replied.

Biting her lip, she observed her husband's face who looked quite tired that day, "Sorry that I made you worry."

Nathan who was seeing this loving couple in front of him, felt a pang in his heart all because the woman was Samantha. She looked and behaved so differently compared to how she was when they dated back in College so he knew that what they once had cannot be compared to her relationship with Daniel despite them dating longer. He had already accepted the fact that the two of them no longer have a chance but it doesn't mean that he was okay seeing this sight in front of him.

Wanting to finish his visit, he spoke to them, "I will be prescribing some supplements for you and you also have to make some changes in your diet. Just make sure to follow it for at least two to three weeks. You may need to keep taking iron supplements for several months more to keep your anemia from returning."

Samantha nodded her head obediently, she did not want to worry her husband anymore so she was going to follow Nathan's prescription diligently, "I will follow your advice. Thank you."

"I'll let you two have a rest. I'll see you in the morning," Nathan said before he left the room.

After leaving the room, Nathan went to the sleeping quarters and decided to rest as he had been working in the hospital for twenty hours already. He decided to look into Samantha's case more after a few hours of sleep.

"What do you want to eat?" Daniel asked, he was still holding Samantha in his arms as if he was afraid to let her go.

"Honey, you're hugging me so tightly…" she chuckled and Daniel released her but still kept her close. "Anything… I just want to eat something, I'm starving."

"Okay. Your parents came by earlier and brought some porridge. I'll heat it up for you," he said before he prepared the food for her.

Daniel fed her with the porridge and some steamed chicken. He was glad that she was not being stubborn and ate everything that he gave her. After her meal, she shifted her position on the bed.

"Come lay down beside me," she tugged his sleeve.

"Wouldn't you be uncomfortable?" he asked, caressing her arm lovingly.

"The bed is huge. And I want to sleep next to you."

Smiling down at her, Daniel thought that Samantha can be clingy at times but he was not going to complain about it as he loved that she was like that. His heart throbbed at the thought of her being sick.

Earlier while he was in an important meeting, he did not even bother explaining after receiving the phone call from Logan. He abruptly stood up and left the meeting room in a rush and only called Assistant Ahn to tell him about the situation when he reached the hospital.

Samantha could see the worry in his eyes and she too, felt like she had really made him anxious this time. Recalling that time when she almost fainted a few weeks ago, she knew that he was already fretting. Sighing, she scooted over to the side and patted the space next to her.

"Please?" she pouted the best that she can. She was looking so adorable that Daniel could not help but laugh.

Removing his tie off completely, he placed it on top of his coat that was hanging on the chair before he laid down next to her. Carefully letting her rest on his arms, Samantha snuggled so close and nuzzled on the crook of his neck. "Do you feel better?" he probed, patting her head gently and stroking her back with his other hand.

"Yes, thank you," she replied, inhaling the sweet and musky scent from him that she loved so much. "How was your day? Your meeting?"

"It's fine… no need to worry about it," he said, despite the fact that he might have lost the chance to work with that client because he left so abruptly earlier. But that did not matter at all, after all, Samantha was more important for him. "I will hire a nutritionist for you. And we'll have to stop our morning workout for now."

"Ehh? But why? I love exercising with you in the morning."

"Me too, but I can't risk you falling ill. You need to recover first."

She thought about it for a while before she suggested, "How about just walking? We can do that, right?"

"Fine, but only for fifteen minutes. And you can't brisk walk."

Huffing, Samantha could not protest, "okay."

"Now let's go to sleep. You need to rest," he ordered as he adjusted the blanket over them and dimmed the lights by the bed.

The next morning, Daniel went to Nathan Yun's office and talked about Samantha's condition.

"So… there's nothing wrong?" Daniel asked after Nathan told him that it looked like a simple case of anemia.

Shaking his head, Nathan answered, "I have checked using the blood analyzer twice just to make sure and also looked under the microscope but there is no abnormality. All she needs is to take better care of herself, follow the prescription and she'll be able to recover just fine."

"Okay, I understand."

Seeing Daniel in deep thoughts, he knew that this husband was simply worried about his wife. "This is not a big deal, Mr. Cho… so you can relax.. But just in case, I would suggest having a regular checkup every month so that we can monitor."
