Daniel's heart warmed upon hearing her words. He understood what made her upset and he accepted everything that she said.

All the things that he did in the past were the things that he hated about himself but if he were to relive the same incidents, he was sure that he would still choose the same decision and walk the same path. He may have regretted having the dark past but he honestly did not regret being families with Lucas.

Looking at Samantha, Daniel thought that she was too good for him. She wasn't perfect but he accepted all of her flaws and just like him, she was willing to accept all of him too.

"I'm still hurting after knowing the truth. This isn't easy for me, Daniel. And I don't know when I'm going to be fully okay about this. Maybe, I will someday… or maybe I won't. But right now… I just want to be with you." She confessed her fears. Her mind was in chaos but her heart still won over her principles.

Nodding his head, Daniel embraced her again. "I can't lose you… I don't want to lose you. I promise you that I will spend my entire life with you and make up for this."

Despite the revelation of his past which almost cost him his marriage, Daniel and Samantha were able to sleep peacefully that night. He was still afraid that she might change her mind in the future but as long as he knew that she still loves him, he was going to fight for her.

The next day, Daniel received a call from Nathan Yun and asked the two of them to go to the hospital.

They met Nathan in a laboratory where Samantha was being thoroughly checked up. She was inside a testing area where Nathan conducted the test while Daniel watched through the glass window.

After a few minutes, Nathan came out and asked to speak to Daniel first.

"I have checked the vial that you gave me and it was an antidote." He said with an unreadable expression, making Daniel doubt his announcement.

"But?"

"If I am right about this… In order to cure the poison, I think she needs to take the antidote probably a few times before she is completely healed."

Daniel's brows furrowed, seemingly confused about what Dr. Yun was saying. "What do you mean? Use this antidote a few times?"

"I mean... this antidote is only one dose of it." Nathan took out a clipboard that contained several pages of paper and showed it to Daniel.

"I studied the papers but the notes were not very clear. There were some parts that said that antidotes were given a few times… so she might need more after this one. Of course, this is only my theory. The poison in her system isn't like any other poison and you said it yourself, it was so easy for Dr. Nam to give this to you but she did not ask anything in return. I'm still shocked that she's this kind of person but if she's really this wicked, then I can almost guarantee that she still has something up her sleeve."

Daniel understood what he meant. But whatever she might ask from him later, that had to wait. Right then, saving Samantha was more important. "Can't you replicate this antidote? Don't worry about anything else. Gather any materials, drugs or equipment that you need, money is not an issue no matter how much it is."

Nathan ran a hand on his face, he was also frustrated. "That's not really the problem, I already checked on it but unfortunately, we don't have the list of components that are needed in making the antidote. And even if we do find out later, it will already be late. Making the poison probably took a lot of time so I'm quite sure that the antidote is the same. However, at least now we can use this, if not… just like what you said, she may not last."

Daniel clenched his jaw and looked at the floor as he thought about what else he can do when Nathan added, "You said so yesterday that she has less than five days… we already wasted one day, we can't delay this."

Daniel raised his head and read Nathan's determined look. He had already placed his trust in him and that time, he had done the same so he gave the go signal.

Nathan went over to Samantha and called for her, "Sam, will you follow me to my office?" He asked.

Samantha looked over to Daniel with a questioning gaze. She did not know what was going to happen yet because he did not tell her anything about that antidote that he got from Devyn Nam.

Walking up to her, Daniel saw her nervousness. She was waiting for him to tell her that it was alright. "It's okay, I'll be with you." He nodded to her and took her hand as they followed Nathan to his office.

Nathan extracted the antidote from the vial and injected it to Samantha. She squeezed her eyes shut when she felt the needle pierce through her skin. When it was done, she leaned onto Daniel's shoulder as she suddenly felt tired.

"You should stay in the hospital so that we can monitor you," Nathan suggested.

"We'll do that," Daniel agreed. After a few minutes of talking, he excused himself and called Lucas outside of Nathan's office.

Daniel updated Lucas about what happened and he heard his friend curse a few times.

"That doctor! I can't believe she would switch sides like that. A couple of years before we heard about this drug, she said that she was going to travel and probably won't be coming back. Who knew that she was part of it. How could she go to Yanovich?! She knew very well that we've been looking for him!"

"Right now, I doubt that she is going to reveal anything. We both know what kind of person she is. Lucas, I need you to find the doctors who were part of this. I also already had some men watching her every move."

Lucas sighed from the other line, "Yes, don't worry. I got a word from one of my men that they got a lead. I'll get back to you as soon as I get an update."

Finishing the call, Daniel walked back to Nathan's office and found Samantha sleeping on the couch. She had been quite weak the past few days and her state didn't look good at all. It was a sight that Daniel and Nathan hated to see.

Later that evening, Samantha woke up feeling energetic compared to that morning. She had slept through the day and only woke up at six in the evening.

Looking around, she did not see Daniel in her room and she did not see her phone anywhere. "Honey?" She called but got no answer.

Samantha got off the bed and was about to check the comfort room when the door of her room opened and in came Daniel.

He was surprised to see her up so he hurriedly closed the door and walked up to her, "What are you doing out of bed?"

"Daniel!" Samantha smiled very brightly, a sight that Daniel had not seen for weeks. The colors had returned to her face and she no longer looked pale. If one would comment, she did not look like she got sick at all. She sprinted and pounced onto her husband, in which Daniel instinctively caught her in his arms — his eyes widened in surprise. "Samantha," he mumbled.

"Where have you been? You weren't here when I woke up!" She pouted – she was definitely feeling chipper.

He slightly pulled back and observed his wife but all she did was smile at him. "How are you feeling?" He worried.

"My back is a little sore but maybe because of too much sleeping. Other than that, I feel fine!" She threw herself on him and nuzzled on his firm chest. Smelling his scent that she loved so much. Over the weeks that she got sick, her senses became off.

Daniel finally let out a sigh of relief. He was still worried but he was definitely feeling positive that things will turn out fine. "Thank goodness. Thank God you're okay." He hugged her tightly.

They remained in the same position until a noise interrupted their moment.

*grumble*

Lifting her chin up, Samantha grinned silly at him and giggled, "Oops." Feeling guilty about the noise that her stomach just made.

Daniel chuckled upon seeing her cheerful expression. He raised his hand to touch her nose and said, "I knew you'd get hungry when you wake up so I went out to get your favorite food."

That was only when Samantha noticed the bag in his other hand and saw the name of the take out box from her favorite restaurant. A smile spread across her face and just like that, Samantha Kim returned to her usual self.

"Honey, you've gotten skinnier. I was the one who got sick and not you! Come, eat with me." She said as she pulled him to the sofa.

It was also the first time in a while that Daniel had a smile on his face, her energy rubbing off on him, "Okay, honey."
