Oliver chuckled, finding himself silly that he got scared by Daniel's taunting. However, the more that he looked at the cold man in the car, the more that he got nervous. "I really doubt you'll do it. You're just scaring me."
"Do you really want to risk it?" Daniel asked in a serious tone, his stare was unreadable and he looked really calm when he spoke.
"Why don't you just accept my proposal? I promise I won't be a hindrance when you're working. I will just quietly watch you from the side! I just want to learn from you. Please?" Oliver pleaded. He looked earnest with his expression and his eyes were resolute as he looked at Daniel without hesitation. But this did not convince Daniel Cho at all. Why would he bother with someone who won't give him any gain?
Daniel stepped on the gas pedal some more, making Oliver's eyes widen in shock. He then changed to first gear and the car jerked forward almost crashing into Oliver's sports car. The Maybach stopped just in time with only a paper thin gap between his bumper and the other car. Oliver almost pissed his pants when he saw the entire thing happen before his eyes. "Ya!!! Are you crazy? You almost hit my car!" He bit out.
"I already told you... if you don't move your car, I will not think twice and just ram into it." He spoke in a low voice, sending shivers down Oliver's spine. "Do you want to see me do it?" Daniel questioned.
Oliver's heart raced while he tried to wrap his head around the situation. 'Daniel Cho is one hell of a scary dude!' He sneered in his thoughts. How was he not afraid of damaging his own car?
Oliver's mother who spoiled him too much gave that car to him and if something were to happen to it, he was sure that he won't hear the end of it from her even if he was spoiled rotten.
Gulping, Oliver raised his hands in front of him as if he was surrendering before he walked around his car and got inside the driver's seat. He was reluctant to leave but there was nothing else he could do if Daniel Cho was not going to give him a chance. 'I'll just have to find another way to make you say yes.' He promised himself.
When the sports car was gone, Daniel sighed and finally drove towards The Busy Bean Cafe while feeling a headache creep up on him.

Cho Family Estate
"Hello, sweetheart. Come in." Mother Cho greeted Samantha and Daniel when they stepped inside the house.
When they got to the living room, Samantha was surprised to see that Becca was also there. Her friend was sitting on the sofa, a meter away from Liam. "Becs, I didn't know you were coming here as well. We could've come here together."
Becca had a weird smile on her face. Her lips curled up but then it did not reach her eyes even though she tried to make it look like she was smiling a genuine one; Samantha knew that there was something wrong. "Yeah," she chuckled, "I didn't know about it too."
Liam gulped and drank a glass of water in one go when he felt Becca's stare burn the back of his head.
Mother Cho disappeared into the kitchen after some time and Becca sighed in relief. She hurriedly went over to Samantha and brought her to the side to talk to her in private.
"Okay, what's wrong with you?" Samantha spoke first when she saw Becca's expression. She was neither happy nor sad and Samantha could not figure out what was on her friend's mind at that moment.
Crossing her arms, Becca scoffed and groaned, "Can you believe that Liam tricked me into coming here?! I didn't know where we were going until we reached the gates! What an ass!" She huffed and glared at her boyfriend who was sitting on the sofa with his brother Daniel.
Samantha followed her stare and her eyes furrowed in confusion, "What do you mean you didn't know? I thought you were going to have dinner? I mean that's what you said back at the cafe."
"Yeah! Coz that's what he said. And because he was the one driving, I really didn't bother noticing where we were heading. And when we arrived at the gates, I freaked out! We kind of had a fight in the car but we were already in the estate so it was too late to turn back. I'm so pissed at him, Sam! Ugh!" Becca spat, her face became a little reddish because of irritation.
Samantha bit her lips upon hearing the situation from Becca. 'That's not cool, Liam. What were you thinking?' She spoke to herself.
Looking at the two, Samantha shook her head and stroked her friend's arm. "He clearly needs a good beating but it's okay. I'm here, we're all here. You'll be fine, Becca. Their mother is actually very sweet and kind."
"I know that! But Sam, I am still so embarrassed about what happened before. How can I face his mother? This is too early! And again, I was tricked into coming here. I'm literally unprepared! I can't believe Liam was so sly!"
Samantha chuckled when she imagined what happened to them. "Don't be so hard on him, okay? I'm sure he will apologize and when he does, don't let it drag on for too long. Just talk it out with him and let him know that you did not like what he did."
"Yeah, right! I'll show him how I am when I'm angry!" She clicked her tongue.
Meanwhile, on the sofa, Liam told his brother the same thing. "Now she's shooting daggers at me."
"Man, you're screwed," was all that Daniel told his brother. And then they enjoyed drinking their glass of whiskey in silence.
"Dinner's ready!" Mother Cho announced and all of them gathered around the table.
During their meal, all six of them talked about just anything that's going on with their lives. Mother Cho asked Becca some questions and although she felt anxious at first, she calmed down after eating a delightful meal. Becca was pretty surprised when she learned that Liam's mother cooked all the food on the table. She rarely got to have the same kind of family gathering so having to eat home-cooked meals somehow became a luxury for her.
After dinner, Liam went to look for Becca who was out for some fresh air in the garden. "Hey, I was looking for you." He said as he walked towards her.
Becca only glanced at him before she turned her head away. Liam knew that she was still mad at him but he couldn't really blame her.
Sighing, he stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist while he rested his head on her shoulder. "Are you still mad? I'm sorry… What I did was wrong."
She did not reply to him and only exhaled, rolling her eyes even though he couldn't see it. Liam could feel her tense up a bit so he placed a sweet and gentle kiss on her bare neck. "Are you not going to talk to me anymore?" He kissed her again but this time, behind her ear, "What do I need to do for you to forgive me?"
Becca's heart thumped, feeling his playfull kisses as she closed her eyes. "Why do you do this to me, Liam? That's not fair." She complained, making Liam chuckle. She was pretty much angry the whole evening that she decided to ignore him but his sweetness affected her in all the right places.
She turned to look at him and gave him a stare. "I forgive you but you can't do this to me ever again, or I swear!"
Liam raised his hand and gestured, "Scout's honor. I promise I won't do this again." He said before he smiled down at her.
Becca scoffed and rolled her eyes, annoyed that she got over her anger just because he was being sweet.
…
In the living room, Daniel received a phonecall from an unknown number. He excused himself and answered it after making sure that he was out of earshot.
His thumb hovered over the green button before he pressed it. "Hello?"
"Hello, Daniel." A female's voice answered.
"Devyn."
"Aww… I'm impressed that you know my voice so well. It's actually touching. How's your wife?"
Daniel knitted his brows, a burning rage started within him. "What do you want?"
"I also like that you want to go straight to the point. You are truly a Swift."
Daniel did not respond and waited for her to continue.
"Okay, since you're in a hurry, I will tell you right away," Devyn spoke in a lazy voice like she was taking her time. "That antidote I gave you... you need more of it for her to completely heal. The thing is, you will never find another antidote somewhere else."
"What do you want?" Daniel already figured that Devyn wanted something in return. But what she said next was something that had never crossed his mind.
"It's simple really. All you have to do is to divorce your little wife and she lives. If you refuse, well... her health will continue to deteriorate until she'll...." Devyn let out a sinister chuckle letting Daniel figure out what will happen if Samantha won't get the next dose.
