Nicholas looked outside his classroom and saw the other students playing soccer. They were having so much fun but he, on the other hand, felt so bored. He didn't want to study. He just wanted to go outside of their village and explore the world but his father, the leader of the whole clan strongly disagreed with his plan.
He cannot leave the village until he's 20 years old. There's one more year to wait but he was getting more impatient. However, they can't really do anything about it. If he goes against his father, punishment is waiting for him.
The village that his family-owned was very large. It's far away from the city which keeps them safe. Since it's private property, the government can't do anything to them. The Vallardi family's history was long known to the public. Their clan didn't like interacting with the outsiders but there were other people who can get close to them. These are those people who get married to one of their clansmen.
Since they owned huge forestry, the government didn't think too much as long as they protect the whole forestry and will not destroy it. Of course, they wouldn't dare destroy the vast forest because it's part of their home. In fact, the Vallardi clan felt most at home with the forest.
Not many people know of their origin just like how few people knew of the dragon's tribe and if you tell them about this, they will only laugh at you and wouldn't believe you at all.
Werewolves and Dragon's people, who would believe such a thing?
Nicholas took a deep breath and sighed. "I will make sure to make most of my time when I'm out of this place." He told himself before closing his notebook. He stopped listening to the teacher's discussion because he felt bored and tired.
In the village, they have their own hospital, own primary and secondary school and they have their own university as well. Some villagers opened their own businesses as well and they have their own way of submitting taxes. They didn't need to apply for a business permit in the government and they didn't have to rely on the government. If something happens to their people, they only need to go and talk with their clan leader and the elders.
Once Nicholas turned 25 years old, he will be the next Alpha and will be the next leader of the whole clan but before that happens, he needed to meet his Luna or it will be postponed. It's also the reason why he's allowed to leave the village when he turned 20 years old. He will be given two years to go to places he wanted to go and of course, he needed to search for his Luna.
"Why must I be the son of the leader? He's got a heavy role to play." He muttered but no one heard what he said because he didn't transmit it thru a voice link or mind link.
Currently, he's studying business management. And in the next two years, he will transfer to a university in the city to finish his degree. It's also to make sure that he learned the ways of the city folks. Even if they're different from other people, they could still be considered human when they shapeshift.
After his class in the morning, Nicholas went to the library in order to read. He likes to read books and most of the time, if he's not in the forest playing with his friends or with his sister, he'd be in the library reading books.
"Niknik!" His sister, Yiran, came running down the hallway to the library and hugged him. "Are you here to read again?"
"Yup. I need to learn many things and prepare myself to go out after a year."
"Do you really have to leave the village? What about me? Won't I see you within 2 years?"
"Of course, you would. I will come back and see you. Don't worry."
"Okay." His sister is younger than him by 7 years because when his mother gave birth to wolf pups for the first time, three of his brothers died. Only Nicholas survived. It was because of the curse that his mother got. Because of what happened, his mother got depressed. It took so long for her to move on and gave birth again. Thankfully, his sister was one and only. His mother was already happy that her son got company and she didn't want to give birth again. His father also agreed. They didn't have any idea how to rid the curse that the dragon princess left. And they didn't know where the Dragon's tribe went to hide either.
Nicholas, together with his sister, went inside the library and looked for books of their interest. As soon as they're inside, Yiran stopped talking and just accompanied her brother.
At this same time of the day, Serina was sitting on a bench with her friends. She looked up to the clear blue sky and then looked at the men who were playing on the field not far from them.
"Luke is really handsome," Hillary commented with her dreamy eyes. She was staring at the soccer player who was wiping his sweat off with the hem of his shirt. His well-toned abs were shown and he looked really sexy. Well, that's how other people describe him in their minds.
But Serina was different. She didn't feel anything to them and she didn't how they show their body either. If you ask her what kind of man she likes, she wouldn't answer because she had no idea either. In fact, her friends called her abnormal because she didn't have any interest in boys. Only Serina herself knew how abnormal she was.
"I don't want to attend the classes in the afternoon. I'll go home." Serina picked up her bag and stood up to leave. She didn't bother explaining why and just left.
The man named Luke noticed Serina and her friends were leaving. His eyes followed them but since he was still playing, he just ignored his infatuation and continued to play. He likes Serina. He likes her for a long time now but he couldn't tell her his feelings because he didn't want to be rejected. After all, she's known to be the ice queen.
She's not really cold to everyone but she's specifically cold to those men who pursue her. She never entertains anyone and she doesn't show interest to anyone either. Most of the students thought that she's a lesbian but she didn't have any particular interest in women either.
Well, it's because she hadn't met the man who will catch her interest.
