"Where have you been?" Hillary questioned the moment she saw Serina emerging from the thick foliage and bushes. Her hands were on her hips, looking sternly at her friends like a mother scolding her child.

"I went to see the wolves." Serina answered nonchalantly. "By the way, there's a huge lake nearby and you guys can take a dip. I'll make us breakfast."

"Don't change the topic. I knew that you didn't come back last night. I was wide awake the whole evening."

Serina felt guilty about it but she didn't say anything anymore. Whatever she says might be taken against her.

"Stop scolding her. She knows this forest more than anyone else and didn't you see the wolf protecting her. She's loved by the animals inhabiting this place." Brigette stated while rubbing Hillary's back.

"Well, you are old enough to know what's right and wrong. You can perfectly protect yourself with that wolf."

Serina was still quiet but she was already taking out some food for breakfast. She can't change what has happened already and she didn't regret what she did. She didn't want to apologize for it.

"We're going to cool down our heads." Jonathan spoke and pulled Hillary towards the lake even though he didn't really knew where the place was.

Seeing their disappearing back, Serina sighed and called out to Timothy. "Tim, I made some marks on the trees. Just follow them and it will lead you to the lake."

"O-okay." Timothy grinned from ear to ear when he realized what she just called him. His nickname coming from her mouth sounded soft and sexy. He even forgot the jealousy he felt towards the wolf which kept following Serina.

Later that day, around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Serina and her colleagues decided to go down the mountain and go home. She was reluctant to leave the place and most of all, she was reluctant to part with Kiro.

"I'll be back when I get the time." Serina muttered while caressing Kiro's neck. "I'll come and see you with Nicholas."

'No.' Kiro responded before he could think. It was an automatic defense when he remembered the situation they were in. Nicholas cannot meet them when he turns to his wolf form and Serina wouldn't be able to see Kiro if she's with Nicholas. It can only be either of them until he manages to tell her the truth.

"You don't want me to see you with Nicholas?"

'It's not what I mean.' Kiro replied with his head hanging low.

'Go on. Make an excuse. This is all your fault, stupid wolf.'

'I'm a part of you, stupid Nicholas.' Kiro retorted, not wanting to lose to his human form.

Kiro dropped to the ground and nuzzled Serina on her cheek. 'Nicholas is a jealous man.'

'Excuse me?' Nicholas complained but Kiro didn't listen to him at all.

'Nicholas would be upset if he know that you spent time with me first before him.' Kiro continued without feeling an ounce of guilt while lying to her. 'It would be better if you spend time with him first and then when he's satisfied, you can ask him to find me.'

"How would I know that he's satisfied?"

'I don't know.' Kiro's answer made Serina chuckle. The huge wolf looked so adorable to her and in the whole world, she might be the only one who finds wolf adorable. It's just not normal.

"Rina, we have to go!" Brigette yelled at her because she had been taking so much time and it was getting late. Jackson was already waiting for them at the foot of the mountain.

"I'm coming over." Serina yelled back and stroke Kiro's fur once last time. "I'll see you next time. Take care of Nicholas for me." She hugged the wolf shortly and left the mountain.

"You are so attached to that wild animal." Jessie commented as they walked down the path to the foot of the mountain.

"I don't know why. It feels like I've known the animal forever." Serina replied with a sheepish smile. "I'm weird, right?"

"We're not surprised at all." Jonathan winked at her in response. "Hillary warned us ahead of time."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, she said that you are different from other women we know and that you love things that normal people don't. You like to read books about supernatural beings, too."

"In short, I'm abnormal."

"I didn't say that." Hillary stated with faint laughter. "You were the one who often call yourself that. Even so, we still love you. So, don't worry if you think you are abnormal."

The rest of the group laughed at her and Serina couldn't stop herself from laughing as well. She missed this kind of moment with her friends.

When they arrived home, Serina greeted her parents and had dinner with them. She told them about the things she discovered at the forest and especially the wolf that she met.

Michael tensed when Serina described her trip and the things that she enjoyed the most. Although she was happy, Michael felt like having a heart attack. He didn't know that his daughter was getting dragged to the center of the storm. He didn't want her to suffer.

In front of his wife and his daughter, he remained calm but deep inside, the turmoil he was feeling was about to make him lose his mind. He was only trying to observe the Blue Moon Pack, to see what they were up to and to make sure that they won't harm any dragon bearer that they'd find. So far, nothing happened but now, he was regretting his decision.

"Dad?" Serina waved her hand in front if his father which brought back Michael's attention to her. "You look worried. Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing. I just thought of moving to another place."

"Moving?" Both Irene and Serina looked at him with confused expression on their faces.

"You didn't tell me anything about this." Irene added as she looked at her husband with concern. "Is there a problem with your work?"

Michael took a deep breath and sighed. He already made an excuse so he had to make an explanation in order to follow up his lies. Although it was a lie at first, he thought that it was a wonderful idea to snatch his daughter away from any harm.

"I have been thinking about this. I am a little tired with the work I have and I wanted to rest. I want to go somewhere peaceful and far from the city."

"What about me?"

"Well, you will be studying in Paris for the next academic year. You won't be spending so much time with us. For college, you can choose the school you like. You can even continue your study in France."

"Really? You won't mind me studying abroad?"

"Yup! I'd be very glad if you choose to do that. We can finally spend the savings we have for you."

Serina narrowed her eyes at her father but Michael didn't look away. He pretended to be calm and he won against his daughter in that.

"Whatever it is you want. Anyway, I won't be staying a lot of times here." Serina answered even though she felt a little sad with the thought of leaving the city. "But I hope you can keep your promise about the school of my choice."

"Hn."

Serina finished her dinner and went back to her room. She made sure to lock it and erected a barrier to prevent anyone from eavesdropping. 'Brittislava?'

'Yes?'

'You're around?!' she asked in exasperation. 'Why didn't you help me earlier? You didn't even answer me. I was so worried. Is there a problem? Have I caused you so much trouble?'

'I'm alright, Rina. I just had to do something with Alina. I was communicating with her. Also, I didn't think you'd need my help when that powerful wolf was with you.'

'Speaking of. Is it your doing that allows me to communicate with Kiro? I couldn't speak to any other wolf but him.'

'You probably have a special connection with that wolf.' Brittislava continued to lie. She has no intention of letting Serina know what her plan was. She had a feeling that Serina would stop her if she knows it and she can't afford to miss this opportunity. It was the only she knew she could protect her from harm.

Serina continued to chat with her dragon and Brittislava continued to weaved her lies. She felt guilty for doing it but she believes she did the right thing.

On the other hand, Nicholas was being ignored by his sister. He ran away from her birthday and spent time with Serina. He didn't even inform her ahead of time and just run off in his wolf form.

"Just let her be." Zalia told her son. "You know that she's very dependent on you which was why she felt upset that you found your mate. But she said she'll accept Serina because she's human."

"And what if she's not?" Nicholas retorted which made everyone in the room turn their heads to look at him.. "I'm just saying."
