The dinner didn't take long because Michael was wary of vampires loitering around. He didn't want to risk everyone's life so they all went back to their respective homes around nine in the evening. On their way back, Irene chose to go back in a taxi. Seeing this opportunity, Serina told them to bring Natalya with them while Corrine and the kids go home with her and Nicholas.
Irene knew what her daughter was trying to do and she wasn't against it but she was still hesitating to speak with Natalya. If someone knows her origin, something bad will happen to Serina. She will be the target of all clans all over the world and she can't do that.
Natalya sat at the backseat with Irene and Michael sat beside the driver. He erected an illusionary barrier between them and the driver to make sure that the driver won't know anything of what they talked.
"So, how did you recognize my wife?" Michael questioned with his eyes looking straight to Natalya's soul. There was a strong pressure coming from him which paled Natalya. It was stronger than the pressure coming from Serina when they first met and thought she was in grave danger. "You better be honest with me."
"I remembered her scent. She has the scent of a wolf in her."
Irene gasped and closed her eyes. She knew it. One day, someone else would discover her secret which would bring chaos to Serina's life. Michael tried so hard to mask her scent with humans. They never expected that someone would recognize her. And that someone was even a friend to their daughter.
"Don't worry, I won't say anything if this matter is a secret. I am just really glad that I have met the person who saved me back then." Natalya added upon seeing the anxious look from Serina's parents. "Serina's like a dear sister to me so I will never do something that would cause her heartache."
Irene finally looked towards Natalya and smile in relief. "Rina's life will be in danger if people know of her origin. Please help us keep this matter a secret. We didn't even inform Serina about this."
"You don't? So, the spirit living with in her, is that from your blood or your husband's blood? Because I remembered her telling me her mother is human but her father isn't. Or did you lie to her about this?"
"We didn't really lie about everything to her but we just kept some parts of the information from her. Moreover, I am not sure if the experiment will affect Serina's growth."
"Yes. I doubt it if you remember but you and I are products of experiment. The laboratory was raided by the military due to the suspicion of human experiments. All experimented human and animals were burned. As far as I remember, you and I are the only ones who made it out alive."
Natalya just sat there with her mouth gaping. She didn't know what to say. All this time, she was looking for her origin, to find out who her parents were but it turned out she didn't have one. She was just a product of a mad experiment done by humans. Her tears fell on her face but she immediately wiped them away. 'There's no point crying now.' Natalya told herself. "Serina told me that I am from the leopard clan but I guess it's not the case since we are just a bunch of experiments."
"I cannot say that myself." Irene retorted. "It's true that we are an experiment but the cells and the blood running in your body is indeed part of the leopard's clan. I just didn't know how to find them but I know they exist."
"If you want, you can go back with us to our country. There, you will learn a lot of things because humans and supernatural beings live co-exist. Although our existence was kept a secret, many humans know about us and they all respected us because we will help them guard the whole city from terrorism, corruption and other illegal activities. Although there were some hunters, they can be counted with our hands. You will be safe there." Michael offered knowing that this would make their daughter happy. He didn't want to ignore someone who's asking them for help either. Even if she didn't want to say the words, Irene and Michael knew that Natalya wants to find other leopard clans.
"I'll think about it." She said and smiled. She didn't say anything anymore and deep inside she was weeping.
'Let's tell Rina about this. I think it's better if she knows this from us.' Irene told Michael through mind link.
'Let's do it once everything's settled and once she's back to our home. It's difficult to say these words here with so many vampires loitering around. This place is a home to the red moon pack, too. If they notice our dragon power, they will definitely inform the blue moon pack. If they join forces, it won't take them a very long time to find us. Rina will be in danger.'
'But Nicholas seems to like her. I don't think he'd be foolish enough to let someone harm our daughter.'
'We can't be confident. After all, our families are meant to be enemies.'
Natalya kept her words and didn't tell Serina or anyone else about what she knew. She even used her psychic energy to erase this information from her head, living only the fact that she owed Irene her life. As for the experiment and what they were, no one will ever see those things no matter how much they pry her mind. Her nose and ears were bleeding from the psychic burn but she acted like nothing happened and just wiped the blood away with the sleeve of her shirt.
Because of what she did, when Nicholas talked to her to gather information, he didn't get a single reliable thing. 'She's a good friend, a loyal person. Serina's really lucky to have her.' Nicholas thought before letting go of Natalya from a spell. She's very good in mind reading but it will be difficult if someone has natural barriers.. At the same time, she didn't know much about spells because she didn't really learn those things, especially a charm spell that vampires and werewolves often use.
